Came here on a Friday afternoon with my friend who suggested Dave's Hot Chicken. Once we entered, we placed our order at the register. Kiosk was also an option to place our order. I ended up getting the Dave's #3 ($13.99) one slider and one tender combo in medium spice with fries. The meal was solid. The medium spice was like a dry rub. It was solid. We read about the long wait times so we ordered ahead. Got there right when order was up. Super juicy, tender and flavorful chicken the hot has a nice kick. I didn't go all the way for Max heat. Maybe next time. The wife got the cheese fries with chicken nuggets on top. A little chintzy w the cheese so I asked for some extra. 2 piece chicken w fries is more than enough for lunch. Solid portions. Someone else mentioned they tell you to download the app and you'll get a free soda, but that is not the case. You still have to spend x $ to get the soda. Really great. My first visit was this weekend. Driving down from Western CT back home to watch our beloved NY Jets (I know), my younger son begged/demanded I try it. He has many times with friends, he promised it would not disappoint. I told him he was taking a big gamble. Going to a chain Resto on a trip back to our home state where food is religion. I don't know how far and wide Dave's footprint is nationally, but if it's coming to your town, all other fast food chicken will disappear. While waiting for my order, I saw multiple cockroaches running across the floor and into the kitchen area. It was absolutely disgusting and immediately made me lose my appetite. I asked for a refund because there was no way I was comfortable eating food after seeing that. The staff refused. There was no apology, no concern, and no attempt to address what I had just witnessed, just rudeness. The reaction honestly made it seem like this wasn't even unusual to them. Seeing roaches is bad enough. Being treated like an inconvenience for bringing it up is even worse. I will never return. Eat here at your own risk. read more

Have had Dave's many times, however, this visit was very disappointing. After giving my order to cashier, he informed us that they had just received a very large order and that there would be an extensive delay, roughly 15 minutes. We waited over a half hour for tough, cold chicken, some even under cooked. There appeared to be no spice versus medium we asked for. My grandchildren had the chicken pieces and they were terrible, soggy and tough. I realize they had a large order, but what was given to us to eat was close to some of the worse chicken I have ever had. Tried Dave's Hot Chicken in Paramus for the second time -- ordered takeout around 5pm and went with the 2-piece tender meal, medium spice, plus a 10-piece cauliflower with fries. Last time I got mild and felt it was lacking flavor, so I stepped it up to medium this time. Unfortunately, it still didn't have much kick or depth -- definitely going to go a notch higher next time to see if that helps. The tenders were cooked well but could use more seasoning overall. The cauliflower bites were solid texture-wise, but avoid the no-spice option -- it's just breading with no real flavor. Definitely recommend getting it with some heat if you want it to taste like anything. A few other things: the place was very hot inside (no A/C, which made waiting uncomfortable), and even though we were the only customers at the time, it still took 15 minutes for our food to come out. Plenty of staff around, so not sure what the holdup was. I got the medium spice level and it had just the right amount of heat without overpowering the taste. Others in my party got the mild and they enjoyed it. The sliders were a good size, the pickles, slaw and sauce complemented everything perfectly, and the fries were hot and seasoned just right. The place was very clean. The staff were super friendly, and the food came out pretty fast and very fresh. I was there early so it wasn't busy. If you love bold flavor and crave spicy comfort food, this place is a must. Very nice staff. The chicken piece could have been more flat than long. It's more like a chicken finger than a sandwich piece. Many bites of the sandwich didn't have chicken. I saw other sandwiches that were better on covering the bun. I got mild... which is not hot, dry rub Cajun like.. salty!!! I would try plain next time. Could use more slaw and sauce on sandwich. First off food is great so this is not about that at all... I went in on a Sunday afternoon and it was PACKED with angry looking people. I ordered my food (literally just two #4s) and sat in the restaurant for an HOUR with my boyfriend before our order was ready. And we weren't the only ones outraged. There way plenty of workers in the back and only one girl at the front whom I did feel bad for. But at one point there was a gentleman in front of us who was complaining nicely about how long he was waiting only to find out his order was done and the girl at the counter said they called out his number but he had no idea and his beeper never went off so they put his order to the side and never asked about it until he walked up and they tried blaming him. After they were finished helping him, my boyfriend asked how much longer it would be and that we've been waiting for a basic order for an hour... then the food just so happens to be ready but like cmon an HOUR??? I get being packed, but that is absolutely ridiculous. I'll never go back unless I order ahead, though from what people who ordered ahead were saying, it sounds like that wouldn't have even helped... I've been to the Wayne location with no problems, so they will continue to get my business but we'll never go to Paramus again. This was my first time visiting Dave's Hot Chicken. Chicken is my weakest link and as a healthy eater I sometimes go off base as I did on Monday. The crew couldn't be more friendly and helpful. I'm a spicy kinda girl and tried their Medium and hot heat level. the chicken tenders were cooked to perfection and coated well. It was the perfect bite of the bread sauce a pickle and tender on top. Add honey to add even more flavor. I'm kinda sad that they are located on route 4 in Paramus, a place I visit often. Now I'll need more willpower to drive by. Lol! Go! Go! Go! Love it! read more
