Char burger was delicious I think the fries are decent but rather have the fries from at least 3 other places and that give more at same price point. I think they need more salt and to be crisper but then again that could just my personal preference. I will say the service and friendliness here seems much better than the typical other chains. I recently returned to my prior stomping ground to visit some of my family members in Bergen County, NJ. When I lived in this area I loved to visit this place when I shopped at nearby Total Wine. The place is located in a strip mall. I was here around dinner time. The place was slightly busy. Well this time I again enjoyed my American Double Santa Barbara Char burger for $8.69 and a vanilla shake with whip cream for $5.39. I have not enjoyed the Santa Barbara Char since I moved from Bergen County in September 2021. The burger was very filling. I literally had to force the burger down my throat. I was so full. Too much to eat. I drank my shake after I returned to my local hotel. My total bill was $15.01 excluding gratuity. I will return here again on my next visit to Bergen County, which will be in May. read more

The open-flame burger cooking is an obvious selling point, but Habit offers non-burger incentives. The beverage game is better than usual for the genre, including the tropical tea. Can't think of another spot that offers a hot pepper bar or provides Cholula packets. The workers were cheerful every time I was here. Enjoyed mixing it up on the side item, opting for tempura string beans, as well as on the main event, opting for the avocado-laden Santa Barbara Char. At the risk of offending practitioners of the In-N-Out religion, Habit might be my favorite among California-derived chains or maybe even the whole game. read more

CONS: the floor and a few tables were messy which tells me they don't do rounds on the floor to clean often. Been coming here since they opened in town a few years ago and figured it was about time they got a review. Overall, food is fantastic compared to other burger places. Prices used to be better but have gotten up there recently which is the reason for the 4 stars but still not as expensive as their competitors. I like how the food is not so greasy. They are pretty timely with getting things out and have never waited that long. Staff is always kind and I like the vibes/music they play when dining in. They have this lemonade and hisbiscus type drink that is good. Plenty of seating inside. It is part of a strip mall so plenty of parking available. The employees are kind as well. It gets busy around 4/5 and they seem stacked with orders. Takes about 15-25minutes for the order to be ready usually, depending on how busy it is. The place itself is nice, there's a lot of seating. It's a nice place to eat and dine in at. They give you a buzzer to let you know when your food is ready and you pick up your tray yourself and choose where to sit. My burger has been raw once which was unfortunate. But 95% great! read more

This is my go-to burger spot. I normally do pick up and order through their website which I strongly recommend. You can customize your burger as well as set a pick up time that's convenient for you. Price: The prices here are certainly competitively priced. A regular charburger runs for about $4.50, sides such as fries or tempura green beans are about $3. Two people can have a meal for $20 which is nice. Quality: The charburgers are great, especially for the price. I'm a fan of their tempura green beans, this was the place where I first discovered them! I've never had an issue with the food from here. Parking: Conveniently in a shopping center with ample parking. It has a total wine, CVS, and many more stores next to it. This location also offers curbside pickup which I've done many times. They do take longer to arrive to your car (about an extra 10 mins). I suggest picking up at the store if you need to be in an out quickly. read more

Been patronizing this location for years through ups and downs and endless changes of managers and crew. For fast food taste, service and price, this Habit is good value and convenient. Staff is generally pleasant and helpful. When we want a no fuss, inexpensive meal, we get Habit takeout, eat in sometimes and never get delivery. Yes they screw up sometimes - get the order wrong, something was off, fries not right, etc. - but in our experience the business has always made it right, usually with a replacement order or a makeup gift certificate and an apology. BTW, quick response to complaints. Overall, the Charburgers are decent, chicken sandwiches and salads make a nice change of pace. Love the tempura green beans. You can always get complimentary extra sauce, dressing, etc. just ask. All in all glad this Habit is here and we will continue to enjoy. read more

This place reminds me of home. I grew up in So Cal where this location was right near the beach. After a day of riding my bike near the beach or playing in the sand I would head here for the best burger and milkshake. That grew into me doing the same with my son. We would stop at The Habit for milkshakes after walking the pier all sweaty and it was always amazing. This location brought me happiness! It is CLEAN. The guy taking my order was pleasant and smiled and asked if needed a separate water cup since I only ordered one drink for two of us. Small touches like employees not staring at their phone or not making eye contact make a big difference. I ordered my OG favorite. The teriyaki char burger. For $3.99 it will always hold a place in my heart for a budget friendly taste bud orgasm food. They also have really decent chicken for kids! Burgers are the business here. My family knows I have 2 go-to's when it comes to late dinners out and The Habit Burger Grill makes it on that list. There's a good selection of burgers/salads and everyone in my family always finds something they like on the menu. I always get the Santa Barbara Cobb Salad. They just get me when it comes to the crunchiness of the bacon. The way they make their chicken goes great with the rest of the salad and it doesn't hurt that they give you a generous amount of guacamole to top it off. We also ALWAYS order Tempura Green Beans. They're probably the only side that's sooo good that I purposefully won't get french fries (& I LOVE french fries). This trip was particularly pleasant. There must have been a misunderstanding when we were ordering and we were missing parts of our meal. The manager apologized and offered to give my dad his order of french fries on the house. Cute spot that serves up decent burgers. A friend and I went for dinner on a Sunday night. We got there before the dinner rush so ordering and finding a table was easy-peasy. The gentleman who took our order was lively and very friendly. It was kind of alarming how positive he was (lol) but he was a great help. After we placed our orders (Double Char Burger, Lettuce Wrapped Char Burger, Fries, and Milkshake) we find a spot to sit. They give you one of those devices that alerts you when your order is ready so there's no waiting around aimlessly. The burgers are filled with so much flavor. It did get messy a bit but I'd rather have a super juicy burger than a dry one. Ordering a burger to be lettuce wrapped sometimes is a gamble because you never know if they're gonna be wrapped in just one single lettuce leaf or what but no worries for that here. Their fries are also super crunchy outside and fluffy on the inside which is my favorite. Everything tasted good and we enjoyed our meals tremendously. I come here all the time and there's never any issues. This time, I was in a rush and had ordered my food 20 mins before I had to leave. All I ordered was a burger and a salad. The ETA was 6 minutes. I pulled up for curbside pick up but they never came out. So when I went in and asked for an update, they told me they didn't even start making it yet. Not only was I too late for what I had to do, but when I asked for a refund, the manager says that was something I had to take care of. When I asked her how to go about doing that, she got flustered and told me I have to email Habit Burger. She was claiming that they don't get the orders and even though I ordered through the HABIT BURGER website, that it goes through a third party before reaching them so they're not responsible for the refund. After she took down my information, I asked her to send the email instead, and she reluctantly agreed. She told me I'd have to wait because she wasn't going to send it now. So instead of prioritizing the issue in front of her, she procrastinated and went off to do other things. So I left and came back an hour later. Attached is what she sent as the reason for my refund "did not want to wait for food". My ETA for a BURGER AND SALAD was 6 minutes (as always). This whole ordeal took 30 minutes (at that point my food hasn't even touched the grill) and I received the lousiest service I've ever had at this location. I'd never seen this manager either. Awful experience. Awful service. Not only was she unapologetic but she lied in the refund email. Do better Habit Burger. read more

Wife was dying to try this place, so we finally had time and came in. The place was fairly clean and modern inside. Very nice pictures on the wall. All in all a nice place to enjoy dinner. There were about 8 employees working in the back, all very busy doing one thing or another. The lady taking orders was very friendly! I got the double charr burger I added avocados on top as well as bacon. Wife and father in law both got the chicken sandwich. Also had the fries, sweet potato fries, tempura green beans and onion rings. To drink I got the nectar something. The nectar was suppppper strong! cut it with atleast a ton of ice and half water! Super sweet. Once I did it, it was much better. The sides were pretty decent. I enjoyed the green beans! Im personally not a fan of onion rings, but my wife thought that they were pretty good. My double char was dripping in grease.... I do not know why burger chains love doing that. Other than the grease, it was an ok burger. Really nothing special.
