Been wanting to come here for a while now and finally checked it out today. Great lunch specials. Yum!!!
James F.

I've passed by Wolf It numerous times and finally decided to give it a try after seeing it featured in 201 Magazine as "The Best Things We Ate This Month." The place has a fantastic selection of sandwiches and salads, but I went for the highly recommended #11 (the Highland). This sandwich is loaded with roasted turkey, cheddar, bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato, and herbed mayo. I arrived early enough to take advantage of their lunch special, which is a great deal at $10.50. I got half a sandwich along with a choice of field green salad or soup of the day. I chose the ham and navy bean soup, and it was hearty with chunks of delicious ham, making it quite filling. Overall, I'm glad I stopped in today. The food was not only delicious but also a great value. The server was friendly and genuinely appreciative of my visit, especially with the recent attention from the article. The Big Bad Wolf- carve off the bone ham
Jacklyn P.

After a long morning working from home, my partner and I decided to head out for lunch in Leonia, NJ. We had a few errands to run and wanted something quick, but not the usual Chipotle or fast food. Craving Korean fried chicken, we wandered around reading menus posted in windows, but nothing jumped out. Until we stumbled across Wolf It, a retro sandwich shop. At first glance, the sign made me laugh. it looked like it had a few beer barrels, but they turned out to be pickle barrels. Initially I thought it was a bit misleading, but actually, it's kind of brilliant. From the outside you might not expect much, but once you step inside, you're pleasantly surprised. The vibe is straight out of the 50s-70s, cozy and nostalgic. Since it was lunch, we went with their $10 special: 1/2 sandwich with homemade soup or salad. Yes, you read that right, ten bucks for a full lunch. The menu is stacked with sandwich options, but I landed on the Highwood (carved prime rib, brie, tomato, sautéed onions, and horseradish sauce). I'd give it an 7.6/10. My sides: a fresh garden salad and an orange cream soda. My partner went with the Big Bad Wolf (carved-off-the-bone ham, shredded lettuce, tomato, avocado, chipotle mayo, and house vinaigrette). I rated it a 9.5/10. He paired it with chicken soup and a green apple soda. We decided to swap a few bites in through. his sandwich was so good I had to claiming it. The owner was incredibly welcoming, even telling us, "You always have a place here. come anytime." And honestly, we definitely will. For $10, the portions are generous, plenty of meat, fresh ingredients, and tons of flavor. The retro decor adds to the charm, and they even have milkshakes on the menu (next time for sure). Overall, a solid 8.5/10 experience. If you're in Leonia and craving something hearty, affordable, and unique, Wolf It is worth a stop!

I have seen this spot before while just searching thru Yelp and I'm glad my friend suggested we eat at this spot Friday afternoon. I ended up getting the regular #7 Allaire ($14.50) which is a grilled chicken sandwich with fresh mozzarella, sun dried tomatoes, broccoli raab, oil and balsamic vinegar. It was tasty and the bread was fresh. Solid sandwich. Solid sandwich spot, I would recommend if you're in the mood for it and in the area. * Street parking and free parking lot nearby * Lunch special $10.50. Pick two: half sandwich, salad and soup of the day

Nice to have a sandwich place in town! May not be the best place to go on Saturday. On my first visit I learned that there were no pork products (I don't think they had the lamb either). Not sure if that's still the case though. We had the Highland. They didn't fully make it based on the description. They added the fig jam, which is typically on the Pailin. The sweetness kind of threw off the flavor. On my next visit I ordered a full of the Highwood. When you order a full they essentially give you two sandwiches. It's not one large load cut in half. This sandwich was okay. Definitely lacking in flavor. There was not much meat and the meat was good! The Brie didn't really seem to work with the sandwich. It could've used more onions and horseradish sauce along with more meat. There's potential. You can dine in and there are a few tables outside.

A cute cafe with sandwiches, shakes, salads. All the sandwiches are named after Leonia streets. My sandwich (Allaire) was tasted fresh and my OJ was freshly squeezed. Love seeing new restaurants open in this town. Will definitely be back next weekend!

15. Oaktree Sandwich
Stella P.

So glad we found this local place! Ordered the Oaktree sandwich and it was delicious. Exactly what I was craving and the bread had the perfect texture (not too soft and not too hard). I don't like it when you get a sub and by the time you get home the bread is all soggy. This sub was delicious and ingredients tasted fresh. Will definitely come back and support our local business!

Gyro special & The 8. Summit Sandwich

Amazing service & food! We were visiting from out of town and wanted an authentic family style sandwich shop - and this was perfect! The staff was all very pleasant and the food was 10/10!

#17 Van Orden - picture doesn't do it justice. I could TASTE each meat which combined to a flavor explosion

We now have a wonderful sandwich shop in town. Puts the franchises to shame. Let's start with the bread. Some are served on what I will call a focaccia. Just the right amount of chew and full of flavor. Others are served on a crisp baguette, crisp crust and fluffy crumb. Now the fillings 27 varieties of proteins and cheeses. When was the last time you saw pork loin on a sandwich menu. It was heavenly. Roast beef was tender and tasty with just the correct amount of horseradish spread and the addition of egg salad to the sandwich put it top of my list. The #17, Van Orden is the "Italian" sub that mocks everyone else's. Find parking in public lot behind store. The interior is cute with a few table. But get it to go and walk down a block and enjoy under a tree in the sculpture garden or down Fort Lee Rd to Overpeck park.

Highwood !
Me G.

Generally don't give 5 stars anymore but Wolf It is deserving of it. Randomly found this spot and the menu looked interesting so we grabbed a few sandwiches. I had the Grandview , it's a take on a Cuban and they really got it right. Will definitely have this again and highly recommend it. Wife had the Highwood and she was vet happy with her choice. I had a bite and loved it. My son had a turkey and cheese (which they made exactly as he wanted) was delicious. Excited to explore the menu as there are a some delicious sounding choices.

Awesome little sandwich shop with great bread, coffee, smoothies and salads. The owner Ron is really friendly and makes everyone feel welcome. They have a cozy seating area if you want to dine in and tables outside in the Spring/Summer. I love this place, I'll definitely be back.

Where is there outdoor seating?

There is usually a small bistro table right outside the window. However they might have taken it inside due to the constant rain.

We were craving both sushi and Korean food, so this was the perfect spot with plenty of great options on the menu! My absolute favorite dish this time was the beef short rib special. I LOVED the cut of meat and how perfectly it was cooked! Our waiter asked how we preferred it, then cooked it right at our table and even let us try it to make sure it was done exactly how we liked. Such a nice touch, and it made the dish even more enjoyable! The restaurant was packed on a Friday evening, but the staff was still incredibly attentive. We were initially seated next to some pretty bright, flashy lights, and our waiter was kind enough to move us to another table when we mentioned it was a little too much. Really appreciated how accommodating they were, especially on such a busy night! The atmosphere was lively and fun, and despite the crowd, the service was great throughout. One thing to note is that there are entrances at both the front and back, which can be a little confusing, but there was always someone ready to greet and assist guests. Overall, another wonderful experience! Between the food, attentive service, and ambiance, this place continues to be worth the drive from Brooklyn. Definitely recommend the beef short rib special if it's available!

There is street or paid parking next to the building, with free parking on Sundays. This restaurant is on 2F, and not hard to find. - Cheese rice cake, (2.5/5): very watery, and had more cabbage than tteokbokki. a bit disappointing for the price - Garlic Fried Chicken, (4/5): great garlic flavor, definitely on the sweeter side. Chicken was juicy which is a plus, but the skin was quite soggy from the sauce I would recommend the chicken, but was a bit disappointed with the rice cake.

The inside is super cute, and the display of the food is top notch. - Hand-roll set, (5/5): very worth your money! this entire set can definitely fill you up, and each of the hand rolls are so unique in flavor and super filling. I love the banchan as well, and my favorite is the edamame, which I think or flavored with miso butter?? - Pork Cutlet set, (4.5/5): got curry on the side as extra for $5, because it doesn't feel right to have tonkatsu without curry! The cutlet itself was fried very well, and it was not oily at all. it was on the sliiightly drier side, but I recommend getting it with the curry - Yuzu Cheesecake, (3.75/5): can taste the yuzu here, but the texture itself was a bit crumby, and I prefer a creamier texture. the serving size was also a bit small, and we felt that the strawberry didn't really pair well with the cheesecake overall I would come here again to try their other menu items! I ordered the Unagi Don Gozen ($42)- it came with a whole tray of different delicious items, with the star of the show being a generous amount of unagi (eel) over rice. The eel was cooked very well and the rice was flavorful with a bit of sweetness. There was also a small bowl of udon noodles, some sashimi, a crispy tempura shrimp in a yummy creamy sauce, flavorful edamame, mashed potato with corn, and some pickled veggies - quite the diverse array, all of which was tasty. The restaurant itself has a rather simple yet elegant Japanese wooden design. The prices suggest it's a more high end place, but the vibe is actually rather casual. The staff are very attentive and the service speed is pretty quick. Overall, I would definitely give Moru 4.5 stars if I could. I think it's great for most types of occasions, and the only reasons it's not getting 5 stars is because I do think the prices are a tad higher than I would've hoped and I think they could've done a bit more in terms of designing the place to match the price point. That being said, I still highly recommend Moru, especially for a nice lunch.

I noticed that Mavi's has installed wall mounted televisions, which scroll menu items, specials, and upcoming events. This was my first time ordering from their brunch menu and it was outstanding. My Western Omelette (ham, onion, mushroom, pepper, egg, potato, arugula, almond slices) was an excellent choice. Every ingredient was fresh, the eggs were fluffy, and it was accompanied by a side salad and two large slices of multigrain bread. The other items were the artistically presented Avocado Salad (Avocado, tomato, onion crisp, sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, arugula mixed salad, almond slices with balsamic glaze and sesame dressing) and the Toowoomba Shrimp Donkatsu (crispy, golden-fried cutlet smothered in a rich, creamy, and spicy Cajun Toowoomba sauce with shrimp, onions, and mushrooms, served alongside a half-portion of pasta). This dish is succulent, creamy, pleasantly spicy, and thoroughly enjoyed. I'll never dine at Mavi's without ordering a Kimchi Bulgogi Pizza (tomato sauce, mozzarella, onion, mushroom, bulgogi beef, kimchi, scallion, spicy mayo drizzle). Now, they're not lying since it technically is a "beef sausage," but when I hear beef sausage, I'm thinking of something more along the lines of a meatball or traditional sausage. Had they mentioned in the ingredients that it was a 100% beef hot dog, I would NOT have ordered it. If you like hot dogs in your pasta, then this dish is for you. I would come back to try dinner. I wanted to try Otter for awhile and popped in for lunch. At $34.95 AYCE, the ambiance is nice but I expected more. Staff was very attentive and friendly. The belt itself I felt was marked but the plates were being just loaded where there was space - so the labels were correct only part of the time. The rolls were decent but it got to a point where each just tasted very slightly different so it started getting repetitive. Apps were fine but nothing noteworthy enough to order again. The options on the belt were much more plentiful than the ones on the menu to order. Lunch you're limited to only nigiri (sashimi is dinner only) and the options are pretty basic at just octopus, salmon, tuna, saba, etc. The belt design could be better, very slow pace and the divider on each side makes it that it's easy for the tables on the other side to grab things. We actually had the best seat where the items come out first but our neighbors on the other side started reaching out to grab things. This was at lunch which as I mentioned, had limited options - I wonder how much more primal diners will be in the evening with better choices. At $34.95 pp - would not come back for lunch. Just way too few options and I can't order what's on the belt. Kura for example, even if you have a crappy seat where most of the belt is picked through.. I can order EVERYTHING a la carte. I'd be willing to check out dinner to see what that extra $10 gets me. For lunch though - either the price needs to decrease or the options need to increase. I wouldn't recommend lunch service in its current form. Service though, A+++.
