Mavi's is easily in my top ten restaurants within the tri-state area. Each visit is memorable, the food is ALWAYS spot on, and the service is quick and cordial. I noticed that Mavi's has installed wall mounted televisions, which scroll menu items, specials, and upcoming events. This was my first time ordering from their brunch menu and it was outstanding. My Western Omelette (ham, onion, mushroom, pepper, egg, potato, arugula, almond slices) was an excellent choice. Every ingredient was fresh, the eggs were fluffy, and it was accompanied by a side salad and two large slices of multigrain bread. The other items were the artistically presented Avocado Salad (Avocado, tomato, onion crisp, sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, arugula mixed salad, almond slices with balsamic glaze and sesame dressing) and the Toowoomba Shrimp Donkatsu (crispy, golden-fried cutlet smothered in a rich, creamy, and spicy Cajun Toowoomba sauce with shrimp, onions, and mushrooms, served alongside a half-portion of pasta). This dish is succulent, creamy, pleasantly spicy, and thoroughly enjoyed. I'll never dine at Mavi's without ordering a Kimchi Bulgogi Pizza (tomato sauce, mozzarella, onion, mushroom, bulgogi beef, kimchi, scallion, spicy mayo drizzle). Not only does every ingredient dance in your mouth, but the soft beet infused crust makes this one of the best pizzas I've happily savored. read more

I've had bingsoo (shaved ice) at Mavi's before, but this was my first time trying their actual food. I was excited to finally order dinner after hearing good things, but my husband and I were unfortunately disappointed with the experience. We ordered takeout for dinner: Toowoomba Shrimp Pasta with Tonkatsu and the Spicy Original Tteokbokki (rice cakes) with Fried Kim-ma-ri (fried seaweed rolls). The shrimp pasta had good flavor but the portion was way too tiny. After only three or four bites, it was gone. There were about 4 pieces of shrimp in the entire dish and they could've added more pasta, given that it's not an expensive ingredient. The tonkatsu was also underwhelming. It was a small piece served in a large container that made the portion size look even more skimpy. I was also disappointed in the tteokbokki. It was mostly sauce with no egg and only a few pieces of fish cake, again served in a container that was far too large for the amount of food provided. The kim-ma-ri pieces were fine but also very small. Overall, the meal was underwhelming. For a total cost of nearly $50, the quantities were just way too small. We were left feeling unsatisfied and still hungry. read more

Had a great experience at Mavi's! The interior is cozy and stylish, and they also offer outdoor seating, which is a nice option when the weather's good. We were seated in about two minutes, even though it wasn't very busy they still take the time to seat you, which adds a nice touch. One cool feature: each table has a button panel where you can request service, pay, or order more. No pressure, and you don't have to wave anyone down. We ordered a pepperoni pizza, and the pepperonis were thin and crisp, which made it really enjoyable. I also had the rose chicken pasta, and it was fantastic. The staff told me upfront that it's usually spicy and were able to make it milder I appreciated that kind of attention to detail. Drinks were a matcha and a piña colada both tasty, but the piña colada was my favorite. I didn't get to try their ice cream this time around, but I definitely plan to come back for it. Love me some Mavi's. This eatery specializes in Korean-style pasta and pizza. A fusion of Italian and Korean flavors? Sounds good to me! My favorite pasta dishes are the cajun cream with shrimp and the spicy rose cheese with donkatsu. I LOVE how creamy their sauces are and you can even adjust the spice level. The donkatsu could use some improvement though. Sometimes the meat is tough and the breading is overly fried. As for the pizza, I've only tried the Kimchi Bulgogi. They use organic beets for the dough so the crust is pink. Honestly I didn't think there was anything special about it in terms of taste. I expected a lot more considering bulgogi and kimchi have notable flavors... but it was pretty basic. I'm willing to try a different pizza next time! If the pasta and pizza aren't up your alley, they have some brunch options as well as salads, desserts, espresso drinks, and bubble tea. I've tried their breakfast platter, iced mocha, and brown sugar bubble tea. They were all tasty, but nothing mind blowing. The pastas are definitely the big focus! Prices are similar to a gourmet pizza or pasta shop. They're on the higher end for the portion sizes they offer, but they have lunch specials and happy hour! It's a nice size place, has parking and the staff is friendly and inviting. The pizzas were bigger than expected, so we ordered too much. It's ok because there's always enough for lunch the next day. We also ordered appetizers, so I got full on one slice. The dough was pink and tasty, it had the right amount of cheese and topping, and each were delicious. I had the garlic shrimp pizza, I didn't care for it much. I recommend the plain cheese pizza or the Margarita pizza, less is more. We left full and happy, loved the blueberry Ade. Mavi's has a lovely outdoor and indoor space perfect for either a big or smaller group. Place is spacious and kept very clean with a shared parking space available close by. The pizza and pasta here are wonderful! perfect flavors and beautifully made doughs so when youre here, these are definitely worth getting. They have lots of drink options too including coffees and bubble teas. The matcha was pretty good but I may have had better bubble teas - nevertheless, theirs is still good and I actually enjoyed the banana and mugwort flavored ones. Ordering/paying is convenient and there is a button at every table whenever youre ready to do either or. I stopped by today for brunch and it's a great place to dine in because the atmosphere is very nice, there is plenty of parking in the back, the staff was very kind, attentive and helpful, the food was very delicious and the drink was very refreshing. So my overall experience was a very positive one. I arrived at Mavi's cafe today accompanied by my service dog. Upon entering, I was told by a staff member that I was not allowed to remain inside with my dog. I informed her that my dog is a trained service animal and offered to show ID. She refused to acknowledge the ID, stating, "That doesn't prove it's a real service dog." I then asked what proof she needed, and she refused to answer, instead insisting that I eat outside. When I asked if I could record her statement that service dogs are not allowed, she denied making such a claim, but reiterated, "I can refuse service to any customer for any reason, alright?" I recorded part of this interaction for documentation purposes. As you are aware, under the ADA: * Businesses open to the public are required to allow service animals to accompany individuals with disabilities. * Staff may only ask two questions: whether the animal is a service animal required because of a disability, and what task it is trained to perform. * They may not demand documentation or proof of certification, nor deny access based on the presence of a service animal. This experience was humiliating and discriminatory. I was denied equal access and treated as if my disability and rights under federal law did not matter. read more

It's a cute cafe (from my point of view) with an ambiance to match... good for a date, or to catch up with a friend type of place. It all looked amazing, but the Kimchi Bulgogi pizza underwhelmed. The toppings did not sit well on the pie and the cheese was not melted enough to give it that true pizza essence. The dough was the unique part to this pizza. It was a bit doughy, but not bad. The highlight was that they used a red die to color the dough... this was their Valentine's Day special which is cute and different. The pasta dish was just okay. The chicken was barely there. So please don't call this a "chicken pasta" dish... NO way! Also, I had asked for "not too spicy", and I feel like the server forgot, because it was damn spicy. And the 2 tiny pieces of dried out bread was no help. It would have been nice to have a table sized bread to soak up the sauce, but nope... fail! Visited here for an early dinner with a group of friends. They were accommodating and were able to put together a couple tables to accommodate our group of 7. Usually it looks like the space is more suited for parties of 2-4. There was a happy hour menu from 5pm-7:45pm everyday that had discounted prices on select pastas and pizzas. We ordered a few off the happy hour menu: rose chicken pasta, truffle mushroom pasta, Snow White pizza, tomato Jersey pizza + $3 burrata add on and a kimchi bulgogi pizza that wasn't on the happy hour menu. Happy hour dishes were about $14-15. The usual price of pizza / pasta is about $17-20. We weren't served water until we asked for water and water was never refilled throughout the meal. We did all order our individual drinks as well. They have a pretty extensive menu that had several brunch dishes and some desserts. I saw in previous reviews that used to be corn ice cream but I didn't see it on the menu anymore. The food came promptly and the 5 dishes + garlic French fries were more than enough for our group of 7. The waiter did mention that it might not be enough but to wait and see. Overall, the pasta dishes were tiny. It felt like an extremely small portion and both pastas didn't taste anything special. The rose chicken did taste better than the truffle mushroom which tasted almost bland. The Snow White pizza was my favorite, the drizzle of honey really pulled the whole pizza together for me. The other two pizzas were just okay nothing special. They do use an organic beet pizza dough which was pink and super interesting. Overall, the ambiance is not bad. I brought my parents to Mavi because it has become one of my favorite go to places when I'm in Fort Lee. They have a small shared parking lot, so we were lucky to get a spot around 2:30pm on a Saturday. The antisocial part of me loves that they have a device on their table to either call the waiter/get the check, so I don't have to wave someone down. We ordered the Spicy Rose Shrimp Pasta ($16), the Bulgogi Kimchi Pizza ($20), Mango Slush ($6), and Sparkling Yuja Ade ($6.50). The pasta was creamy, had a good kick to it, and came with slices of mushroom and 4-5 jumbo shrimps. I do wish they give more pasta because they give a good amount of delicious sauce. The pizza has more of a mild kimchi and bulgogi flavor, but I don't actually mind that. It is still a very good tasting pizza with a nice fluffy crust. You don't really taste it, but the pizza crust is made with beet roots, which is unique. I found both drinks to be refreshing. I always wondered about this place since it always seemed somewhat crowded or popular (at times). Then I found out how people used to hang here for hours to use the wifi until that stopped lol. However, I also assume people came here for the food and/or ambiance so I have it a shot. In short, this is your typical cute place that shi shi Asians love to visit. The food is nicely prepared, aesthetically pleasing and the drinks look like they belong on a catalogue. I enjoyed my fruit tea very much. The pizza was fine, though it wasn't nearly as much of a revelation as some folks made it out to be. The ingredients were fresh but it felt like more of a pizza I'd get when I visited Asia and needed a western food fix. In short, if you come here thinking you'll get some new age pizza thing, well, good luck. I second what someone else said about the weird texture as well as the fact the pizza I got wasn't super hot either, making the cheese and condiments all feel somewhat heavy and generally feeling way off. The spicy cod roe cream pasta was better. It was fairly tasty and reminded me of something similar I used to get at the izakaya places in the city. That was the best part of my meal. The side of fries I got though was just average. This place gets bonus points for having a pleasant vibe, very clean presentation and generally appealing atmosphere. The service was just okay, nothing super friendly or memorable. The prices here are on the higher side. Been wanting to check this place out, since the husband and i always pass by the area. Once we got seated, we ordered the truffle fries to share (very good). We also got the bulgogi pizza and Rose Donkatsu. Pasta on the side was very delicious and perfectly cooked! Sauce was amazing and it tasted great with the Donkatsu. For dessert, I decided to just get a green tea bubble tea (a little too sweet for my taste, but still good nonetheless).
