"La vita è breve, ma è anche dolce"
    Thomas A.

I'm the very first customer on a Sunday morning. And within three minutes I've dropped $50. And thirty minutes after that my family were devouring these delicious treats back at homebase. The bomboloni (it's degrading to call them an "Italian jelly donut", but you'd get the general idea) were deceptively rich and filling. You know the adage "ten pounds of [stuff] in a five pound bag"? Well these little 'bombs' were cute as could be but as soon as you took a bite you realized they were able to somehow smuggle an entire jug of Nutella or pistachio cream inside. (One kid thought he figured it out and used a fork and knife but his plate was even crazier than ours.) My in-laws are from Poland and their feelings are going to be hurt when I introduce them to Angelina's version of their beloved "Pączki" (and they'll have to fess up that the Italian version is the yummier of the two!). Next up was Angelina's cornetto (similar to a croissant, but more complex and interesting) and once again... they looked amazing, tasted even better and they did not skimp on the tasty filling. (This one was manageable and there was no real clean-up required after each bite, like with the bomboloni.) I preferred the cornetto - it was way more "sane" (balanced, nuanced, light) - of the two treats we tried. There's a whole slew of stuff - from coffees to sandwiches to pastas - that we'll have to tackle on future visits. (And everything behind the glass case looked incredible.) The crew behind the counter were great (even if they weren't impressed with my butchered Duolingo-Italian attempts!). A literal bright spot in this ho-hum strip mall. The distance + my age + the cost + my waistline = a once in a blue moon treat worth the effort. "This totally reminds me of being in Italy." - the Mrs. (just seconds before biting into her bomboloni)

WOW. I cannot believe this opened up smack right on my commute every day. I've had Angelina's at least four nights already... Their soft opening was just under two weeks ago. And let's move along... I went around 9am on a Tuesday and there was no line. Yes! They still had most of their pastries but there were a few noticeably missing - I got lucky! The employees were so patient and nice while I tried to choose. The amount of filling these pastries have is crazy. They're light and rich and decadent. In no particular order as they were all my favorite: -lemon mousse: creamy mousse inside with a hard shell all on top of a shortbread cookie -pistachio croissant: must try if you like pistachio warming lots of filling! -mini raspberry croissant & bombolone: their raspberry filling is chef's kiss -Nutella bombolone: again warning lots of filling but who's complaining? not me! -mini pistachio cannoli: again it's a must in my book -mini strawberry croissant: okay actually did not enjoy this one as much. the strawberry cream tasted a bit artificially too sweet to me. Go. Go now, New Jersey.

While the employees are efficient and friendly, their business practices are not the best. During their opening, they advertised free giveaways. They'd always run out of food, but instead of the employees informing customers that the freebies were done for the day, they'd just hand out a different item and you'd be required to pay. Imagine my surprise when I thought I was in line for a free giveaway, being handed a slice of pizza (along with others in my group), then being told is not part of the giveaway and being asked to pay. My first thought was to hand the item (pizza) back, but there was a long line behind me & other members of my group also unknowingly got handed pizza. It would have been embarrassing, so I had to pay for the slices which I didn't want. I guess they need to jip customers to pay their rent. If the items were out of this world amazing, I wouldn't be so bitter. However they are not. Bombalinas are scantily filled, sweets and pastries are artificially sweet or bland, and once an item runs out, it's not replenished. Even if it's early in the day. My friend was there this Thursday around 11 AM, and they had run out of peach iced tea. At 11 AM..with no ability to replenish. You're better off going to the longstanding pizza place next door. Angelina's should stay in the city and be "trendy" there.

Lots of eye-catching and pricey sweet and savory items in this small bakery that adds coziness to this strip mall This place offers freshly baked goods like donuts, cakes, coffee and teas, pizzas, limited thick bread sandwiches, cake pops, Gelato, and other items that were hard to decipher because there are no labels and no pricing for things in the cases. It is always nice to see homemade items coming out from the back, waiting their turn to be baked. The tomato and pesto foccacia ($7+) was thick and fragrant. The unsweetened matcha latte was also good. Service was fine but I can see that they could get backed up if a lot of customers came in. The area you order in is a bit cramped but there's a seating area in the back with a few tables. Parking is easy peasy.

went in to grab sweets. asked counter person what's good she said "everything"... hmm so i got what looked like mini filled croissants. Brought home to eat. strawberry one was very soggy on top and inside. filling was flavorful but prob need to work on keeping it from getting soggy it was unpleasant. There are so many great bakeries in the area and this one kind of disappoints.

Stopped here on our way to the airport, didn't regret it at all. Super cute little bakery, smaller seating area, but we were able to find a table for five just fine. The service was good, and everything we ordered was delicious. The pastries were 10 out of 10 and we had a jalapeño pepperoni pizza that was also delicious. Would definitely stop by again.

The service was very friendly. The desserts were cute but I found it too sweet and cloying.

Service here is exceptional. I bought a tiny donut to take home and they still packed it away in a pretty box!! I felt guilty because it was just one donut. But that shows you how far the staff is willing to go for customer satiation!! The donut was crispy on the outside and doughy on the inside. The filling tasted freshly made too. It made me excited to know their bombolone (donut) turned out as good as I was fantasizing about. I'll be back!!

A unique addition to the crowded bakery scene in Fort Lee! I've heard of its grand opening outside Manhattan and was excited to try this spot - I was there about the 2nd week after their opening. I. ATMOSPHERE (5/5) It has an attractive, small store front and as soon as you walk in, you're greeted with wafting scent of freshly baked bread interspersed with aroma of the coffee. Menus are clear and brightly lit, and many beautiful baked goods line their display cases, especially their Bombolones in front and cakes, the Italian answer to american donuts, colorful and dazzling. They even have a immaculate & inviting sitting room in the back that could probably accommodate about 20 people if you want to sit to enjoy. II. FOOD (3/5) We didn't try too many things - just one pistachio bombolones & a breakfast croissant sandwich, with a cafe latte. My sandwich was a bit dry and just OK - I think croissant was probably not the most fresh as it flaked off too much. But this isn't their forte. Bombolones however was really good, and not overly sweet as most donuts are. Chewy and had just right amount of filling. A bit pricey though, but you need to remember it's not donuts (haha). Latte was fragrant, and I loved that it wasn't overpriced ($3.25 for L) like you know where with the green mermaid. III. SERVICE (2/5) Honestly a bit slow and put the wrong coffee in initially, but don't new employees all do so? I'm sure they will get faster and more efficient, so this did not bother me too much as they're still in honeymoon stages. I'm very excited for Angelina - definitely coming back to try their beautiful pastries and cakes, even a coffee with friend, & I'm also excited that they have reasonably-priced lunch menu like Mushroom Risotto ($12.50), Cacio e Pepe ($12.95) and Apple Bacon Salad ($12.95) Give the newcomer some love, y'all!

My Review I visited Angelina Bakery's Fort Lee location coming from the Bronx for a birthday dessert stop, and here's how it went: Service: Absolutely stellar. We called ahead (we were cutting it close because we came from a birthday dinner) and when we arrived, the staff said simply, "Knock when you get here," and they did just that -- let us in kindly and promptly. Better yet, the person behind the counter set aside one of each of the fruit-pastries we wanted (mango, raspberry, lemon, apple) without us even asking. That kind of attentiveness in a busy moment (late-evening dessert run) was impressive. Service rating: 10 / 10. Desserts: We tried four "viral" fruit-pastries: mango, raspberry, lemon, apple. * Mango - Easily the standout. The light mousse inside, the thin white-chocolate shell, and the balance between sweet and tart were all phenomenal. A perfect pick for a celebratory dessert. * Raspberry - Our group's second favorite. This one had a more "foamy" mousse texture, filled with sour-raspberry notes and chocolate, and it really worked. * Lemon - Tied for third, but a bit less impressive. The lemon flavour didn't hit quite what we expected; instead of a bright lemon punch, there was maybe a hint of lime or unexpected herb jam (I guessed maybe a lemon with hint of sage jam?) in the middle. Texture and shell were nice, but flavour wise it lacked a bit of punch. * Apple - Also tied for third/fourth. Decent -- good texture, good experience overall -- but it felt like it could have gone further: think cinnamon spice, warm apple-filling, etc. Instead it felt a bit under-excited for what we hoped. Desserts rating: 8 / 10. Atmosphere: We didn't stay long (we were past the birthday dinner, cutting it tight). So while I can't comment fully on seating, ambiance, etc., the space felt welcoming for a quick stop. Atmosphere rating: N/A (not part of our extended visit). Would I return? Yes. If I'm in the area, absolutely. Return rating: 9 / 10. Highlights & things to note * The friendly, personal service really stood out -- from the phone call to the set-aside pastries. * The mango and raspberry options are especially worth it if you're picking two or three. * Arrive a little early (or call ahead) if you're going for a special occasion -- they seem very willing to accommodate. * If you go for the more subtle flavours (like lemon or apple), know they may be more nuanced and less bold than you expect. Suggestions / feedback * For future visits: I'd love to see that apple flavour dialled up with warm spices (cinnamon, maybe nutmeg) and the lemon one brought closer to a crisp, bright citrus hit (plus maybe less of the herb/jam surprise unless I'm looking for it). * Since we were there later in the evening, double-check closing time just in case -- we cut it close. According to Yelp: Mon-Sun 7:00 am-9:00 pm. Final verdict If you're looking for a dessert stop for something special (birthday, treat-yourself, etc.), Angelina Bakery in Fort Lee delivers -- particularly for the standout flavours like mango and raspberry. The service made the experience feel elevated. I'd definitely recommend it for a rewarding dessert outing.

The ordering process was a little confusing at first with no menu or names for the baked goods but overall it was great! The lemon mousse was by far my favorite. Not too sweet and had a bit of the lemony zest to it. I personally like the pizza and can't wait to try the sandwiches and the pasta they have. They have a few tables in the back but with the limited space you can expect it to be a little tight.

We were looking for a bakery in ft Lee area so we settled on Angelina. Looks like it recently opened. We were excited. Walked in. Kinda tight area there was only one gentleman helping customers. finally a women appeared and helped us. We ordered a raspberry donut 2 mini Boston crème. 3 mini half choc half pistachio cannoli a lemon tart thingy. Plus 3 drinks. Tortola was about $50. Not to bad. When we went home to try them. It was a big let down. Raspberry donut was not soft. Like it dried up. Filling was ok. Same for the other donuts. Cannot is pre filled. The cannoli shell was wet. Cannoli filling was just meh. Lemon tart was nasty. Looks good from the outside. But not on the palate

It turned out the red bean was spoiled, so I had to go back and ask them to remake the drink without it. This time, on 12/27 around 5:30 PM, I ordered a hojicha latte. After placing my order, I noticed there was a free size upgrade promotion running throughout December, so I asked if my drink could be upgraded. The staff member said no, explaining that it had to be done while ordering for the promotion to apply. That excuse felt very lame and honestly came across as laziness, especially since it was a free upgrade and could have easily been accommodated. At another Maiko location (Garden State Plaza), the staff proactively informed me about the promotion and asked if I wanted the upgrade, which is what I would expect. Unfortunately, the Fort Lee location didn't offer the same experience. Even after I asked, it felt like I was given weak excuses rather than a genuine effort to help. On top of that, the hojicha latte here was overly milky. I've had the same drink at other Maiko locations where it tasted much nuttier and more balanced, so this was disappointing. I really love Maiko overall, but based on these experiences, I wouldn't visit the Fort Lee location again.
