This is officially our new favorite hot chocolate spot. The hot chocolate is absolutely top tier -- rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced. The kind you sip slowly because it's just that good. The cookies are also a win -- big, warm, and genuinely tasty. They also offer other desserts that we're already planning to try next, but the empanadas deserve a special mention because they were really good. I am visiting from California and stopped by here tonight (12/21/25) to satisfy my sweet tooth. This place was amazing! The gentleman who helped us was so friendly and took the time to explain how everything works. They even organize their menu by popularity, which was helpful. Every single item we tried was delicious. We ordered the Tres Leches, Chocolate Lava Cake, Bread Pudding, and their "BIG ASS" Chocolate Sea Salt Cookie and honestly, I couldn't rank them because everything was that good. They bake smaller portions to ensure everything is fresh, which really shows in the quality. Highly recommend! I will most certainly be coming back whenever I'm in town. Thank you! read more

What a great local pastry shop!!! Stopped in after dinner and try two of their desserts. The owner was super helpful and friendly to us, we ended up sitting at the counter to enjoy. The cookie was amazing - so soft and chewy. The creme brûlée was also really great, he torched the top right in front of us. They also offer mini pastries and mini pastry trays. Long story short, Juan Dulce Desserts has amazing sweet and savory items and I promise that you'll leave loving anything you try! I've visited twice and I had everything from the truffle mac and cheese to the tres leches and chocolate chip cookies. It was also my first time trying key lime pie and now I can't stop thinking about it. Also, I love supporting local businesses so being able to talk to the owner/chef and his wonderful wife is always a plus! They are super friendly and I look forward to visiting because I know it'll feel like home. There is street parking available, sometimes it can be a little rough depending on the time of day but I am usually able to find a spot right in front. The inside is cozy with stools in front of the window and at the counter which it gives a dessert bar vibes and I'm here for it! If you want a cup of coffee or hot chocolate they have that as well. I haven't had the hot chocolate yet but the coffee is delicious! You'll enjoy your time here whether you're chatting with the owner or scarfing down one of his homemade desserts. OH, please don't leave without trying a biscuit sandwich or the empanadas. The biscuit is DELICIOUS, better than anything I've tried before and the empanadas are baked, not fried. They're a 10/10. Nice little dessert spot on busy Anderson avenue. Inside has a few seats but don't expect any privacy as its close quarters. I was not sure what to order and lady working front desk explained the menu well. I ordered a cream brûlée and a cookie from the counter. Total was 15$, a little too pricey in my opinion and wouldn't go back unless in the area craving something specific. I love good dessert and couldn't wait to try this spot. When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked in and was greeted by the owner. The shop was super cute. I was able to endulge in some hot food and dessert. I started with the turkey sausage, turkey bacon, egg and cheese on a homemade biscuit, which was delicious! I then had the truffle mac and cheese, which I like. For my dessert, I had the keylime meringue pie, the chocolate mousse, and the peach frangipan tart. My favorite was the key lime hands down! Absolutely one of the best dessert cafe's I have been to in the Pal Park, Fort Lee, Cliffside area. The owner bakes everything by hand and even took out a blowtorch to crystalize the sugar for the passion fruit creme brulee I ordered, on the spot. When food and hospitality come together to create that perfect harmonic experience, you would get this place! I said I would finally get my hands on one of these breakfast sandwiches and I did. Crispy bacon, with egg and gooey cheese all on a cheddar bay biscuit. It is packed with flavor! Moved to Jersey a little over 2 years ago from the Bronx and happen to stop by one random summer night and WOW!!! What a gem. Start off with the owners. Met Juan on my 1st visit and the dude just gave me good vibes and great service. Def. Can tell he loves what he does and takes a lot of pride in his craft. He's partner (wife) is just as lovely and always so welcoming when I stop by. Now as for the deserts.... EVERYTHING IS A HIT!! I personally love the coconut flan and tres leches. Honestly can't go wrong with any of the deserts but my FAV FAV are those biscuits! Hands down BEST biscuits I've had. Eat them plain, jelly, make a breakfast sandwich you won't regret it.
