The place is always busy so I order online and pick it up. A couple times the orange juice seemed a bit wateryand they remade immediately. No issue and it was better! This was the 6inch cake that fed about 6-8 people at my house, and only $26 for how beautiful and flavorful it was. I went the day before father's day and it was a bit busy but nothing crazy. The food here was fantastic! I love the potatoes and the toast, although when my meal first came out, I didn't realize that it was on multigrain toast as It wasn't specified. Luckily the cashier helped me out by allowing the change to white bread just saying that I have to remind them next time. And of course now in the future, I'll know to do that! Being Asian living in a predominantly Latina neighborhood, I have never faced racism by anyone in my neighborhood. Today when going to get our weekly desserts, me and my boyfriend were called to step up to the next available cashier. When standing in from of her, I started telling her what I wanted but she paid no mind to me and only looked and asked my white boyfriend. I told her I was ordering but she didn't bother looking at me and continue asking my boyfriend what he wanted. He kept telling her and pointing at me saying he is going to order. We both knew she spoke English as she was asking him what he wanted to order in English. I felt like I was living a nightmare experiencing such racism from an establishment I frequent quite often and also bring friends and family there. This no-frills place is pleasant and airy and usually busy. But I am here to talk about the bakery's cake. The other week I helped organize a modest at-home wedding for 20 guests. From the standard menu, I ordered a 10-inch Tres Leches cake and instead of the fruit toppings had it done in plain white with a rosette border. (Bought the topper elsewhere.) I did this on a Monday for a Friday event. It proved to be a simple and delicious wedding cake, large enough to give everybody a slice. Several guests remarked how tasty the cake was and had seconds. The interior is absolutely beautiful and sleek and the display cases highlight their delicious treats. Seeing as it was the first time I was at this location, I asked the cashier what she recommends and gave me some wonderful recommendations, two of which I have shared with my wife.
