We ordered the choco bingsu, and wow -- the shaved ice was super light and airy, almost fluffy, and it melted in your mouth. Also tried the yuzu iced tea with honey, and it was so refreshing -- the kind of drink that cools you down instantly on a hot day. This is one of my favorite cafe to grab lunch whenever I'm in NJ. The standout dish was definitely the fish burger to me, which I always order when I'm there. I also love their refreshing homemade soda, which added a unique touch to the meal. To top it all off, we received complimentary mochi donuts, which were a lovely surprise. Yesterday my husband and I stopped in at Cafe Hesed. We ordered two teas and a matcha bingsoo to share. So you order from the counter, pay, and then wait for your number to be called to pick up your order. The place has lots of seating. My husband found a two-person table and we waited. We got it with the add-on red bean and rice cake to try it out. Worth the wait! So light, fluffy, and refreshing! The staff that night were very friendly and helpful. I genuinely love this place for study and doing work. Most of the staff is spot on and genuinely care to get the order correct and out fast. I do appreciate that, the problem I have is when things get busy. I find waiting for a drink for 15 minutes a pretty crappy feeling. Especially when people have come after you on orders. Upon walking in 9/2/25 the place is very clean. When you go to the display cases, they are clean,as well, including beverage area. Clean, good self service, answered questions and gave suggestions when asked. My friend had a fruity pebbles Mochi Donut (dough balls connected in a circle) she was very pleased said it was fresh different consistency then what she/ we know but very good. I was sorry after I ordered my prosciutto wondering would it come out grey or old dried edges because I didn't know what to expect but I was very pleased. While the crust looks very pale it's taste and was consistency that of a golden pizza. I like seeing the corn meal on the bottom feel like that little non stick trick actually allowed the cook crisp process under the dough. Arugula, tomatoes all fresh not wilted and thin cut red & yellow peppers had just the right fresh crunch lightly cooked. The burrata cheese was so nice and creamy. The pizza seemed larger than a personal size. When I had it the next day in the air fryer it was exceptional. We go to NJ for grocery shopping at some of the Asian Supermarkets. One of them is H Mart in Little Ferry, and we were delighted when Cafe HESED opened up in the same building complex. They serve breakfast, lunch, desserts, and other light bites. We started to go there in April of 2022, relatively soon after they first opened, and we go there almost every time we go to H Mart. We've tried many dishes, such as House Burger, Egg & Cheese Sandwich Special, Croque Madam, Smoked Salmon Toast, Prosciutto and Ricotta Toast, Spaghetti alla Carbonara, Chicken Milanese Spaghetti to name a few. The food is pretty darn good, and the portion is great too. Some of them might be slightly pricey for the location, but you get lots of food! We did try some of their cakes and desserts too, and I say stick to their savory dishes... That is all I am going to say on that matter. Their latte and other drinks are nice, a bit on the sweet side if you get flavored drinks. They have young staffs, who are polite enough, but not very friendly. Since this is not a restaurant, you don't really deal with them too much, so it hasn't bothered us. The cafe has a warm and welcoming atmosphere and you can definitely spend some time doing work or socializing with friends there. There are also hugee tables in the booth areas which is great for spreading out your stuff but it makes it difficult to talk to someone across the table (just fyi). The wife and I wanted some bingsoo for our son so we decided to try this place out. The quantity is less than the one in Palisades park and cost more but we surprisingly enjoyed it regardless. They used milk iced so that's definitely a plus and the strawberry tasted fresh. The only thing I would prefer differently was the use of the strawberry powder. It's a hit or miss for me. I have been here on several occasions. Sometimes the customer service is on point and then there are times when they could care less that you're there. They act like I'm annoying them by trying to place an order. My most recent incident was when I had ordered several pastries. One of the cakes was dry and old. I went back and told them that this is unacceptable. They gave me a new one and sadly it was just as dry and old as the previous one. The cake was dry and should not have been served. As I was placing the order, the cake was situated in the display case to hide the fact that it was dry with age. The mochi donuts were chewy, dense and stale. The Key Lime tart was very sweet and had a bit of surface tension. The Apple soda was fizzy and very sweet. The Matcha Latte and coffee were nothing special. A full menu is available but if they cannot get deserts to be proper I would not order an entree or small plate. The selection was minimal and not like what I saw in Yelp photos. So I just asked for a regular coffee and what looked like cheese bread. Well, the coffee was amazing, it was one of the most delicious meld brews coffee I have had in a long time. New pretty cafe that opened up beside the Hmart supermarket in little ferry. Really pretty and clean, perfect for hangout and photos. Maybe we came too early (8:30am on July 4) there wasn't too much pastry selection and the kitchen for hot food doesn't open until 9am.
