Pina colada matcha with pistachio croissant
Neha M.

Parking took a while to find and street parking only which you do have to pay for. I came to try their matcha and ended up getting a pistachio croissant too. The mango matcha sounded good but got the pina colada instead. The flavor was lacking. Not overly sweet but also didn't have much of a pina colada or even a matcha flavor. The croissant was really yummy. Lots more space to sit when you go upstairs to the back. Nice spot to try out but not something I'd come again for.

As a former restaurant owner I see the details and this place didn't miss any of them. Dog treats, calming colors and comfy furniture plus the most important: fast and friendly service. Strawberry matcha was excellent and I'll be back.

Latte - A latte in a white ceramic cup sits on a matching saucer on a wooden table. The latte art on the foam depicts a dog holding a cup, created with contrasting coffee and milk foam. The setting appears to be a cafe environment, emphasizing the beverage's presentation and artistic design.

I am finally able to get to this cute cafe. The only downside is that it is on Main St, which can be tough to find parking. That was the reason I was hesitant to visit. In any case, the latte tasted good, and the art was cute. Can't complain. We had a couple of pastries, which I forgot to photograph. But they were also good. The staff were so lovely. I would definitely return. Oh. They also have upstairs seating, which is a plus.

Oh, oh.....I found another gem within Hackensack. Café Baires is so new to the scene, that they're still constructing the second floor. I appreciate that they opened now and I enjoyed this visit. The service is stellar. The owners were very friendly, created great beverages, and the food was delicious. My beverage was a Mocha Cappuccino and it was amazing. It was artistically crafted and tasted even better. My food choices were a Cheese Empanada, which was nicely filled with flavorful cheese, and the "Tostado" (Ham, Cheese, mayo, butter, salt). This sandwich was SO GOOD! I thoroughly enjoyed the taste of the sweetness of the butter with the saltiness of the ham. Every bite was delectable and is highly recommended. Thank you Cafe Baires, for giving us another great option in Hackensack, and I look forward to enjoying the next visit on your beautiful second floor.

Such a cute cafe that's perfect for working remotely or studying! My go too is their dulce de leche latte! I didn't get a picture but i love their beef empanada with their chimichurri! Service is always fast and friendly! Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area!

Coffee was good and prices were incredibly reasonable. They are pet (not just service animal) friendly which isn't my thing, especially when the dog is jumping on the counter and staff and no one says anything.

Dulce de leche latte (can ask for less sweet) and a ham and cheese croissant sandwich. Simply delicious each time. - A coffee drink with foam art spelling 'Baires' is presented in a glass cup on a white saucer with a metal spoon. Next to it, a croissant sandwich containing ham and cheese is placed on a blue plate with white floral patterns. The items are set on a wooden table, with a background showing a tiled floor and a corner of a wall, indicating a cafe setting.

Food m, service and lattes are delicious. Space is very comfy and inviting. Great place to work or just read a good book.

Sleepwalker Coffee - Iced Matcha Latte - too sweet & milky for me :(

Sleepwalker Coffee is quickly approaching its one year anniversary at the end of the month. In less than a year, it's already become a neighborhood favorite for a much-needed caffeine fix. Once you stop by, it'll make perfect sense. It's tucked away on Bergen Street, right in the heart of Englewood. I've been here 5-6 times in the past month! The menu includes pour-overs, espresso beverages, cold brew, teas, and a limited selection of light bites like toast and pastries. Their coffee is proudly sourced from Maiden Coffee Roasters, a local roastery in Central Jersey. I've tried a good mix of their menu, so I have a solid sense of which items are hits and which are misses, based on my personal taste. HITS: *Hot Latte with flavored syrup [~$6] - These are some of the best lattes I've ever had! The espresso is aromatic, bold, and full of flavor. The steamed milk is silky and velvety with that signature frothy layer. And the ratio of espresso to milk? ON POINT! The flavored syrups enhance the coffee without overpowering it. I've tried the strawberry (fruity notes), lavender (floral notes), and caramel (toasty & buttery notes). One of my pet peeves is lattes that are *WAY* TOO SWEET. That's definitely not the case here! They use syrups made with more natural ingredients, and even make some of their flavors in-house. Every sip is perfectly balanced - smooth and rich with the right amount of sweetness. *Avocado Toast (avocado, everything seasoning, lemon pepper, & olive oil on sourdough bread) [$7] - Simple ingredients that really hit the spot for a light snack! Creamy avocado paired with savory & zesty seasonings on crispy bread? SAY LESS! *Danishes (cranberry & apricot) [$5] - My favorite pastry to have with my coffee! The dough is flaky and airy with sweet cream cheese and fresh fruit in the center! MISSES: *Iced Matcha Latte ($6.50) - I prefer my matcha earthy, bitter, and grassy. This was too sweet and milky, and the matcha flavor wasn't strong enough. *Seasonal Lattes [~$6]: ~Banana Bread [latte with banana & cinnamon syrup] ~Horchata [latte with vanilla, cinnamon, & spice] The espresso was strong in both drinks, but the flavors barely came through. The cinnamon was overpowering, so it tasted more like a cinnamon latte. So yes... the coffee is amazing and the small bites are delicious! But what really makes this coffee shop stand out is its service and atmosphere. The owner and staff are incredibly welcoming, warm, and personable. The baristas remember your face and your order, and they really know how to connect with customers. Every time I visit, they treat me like a friend :') They have a ton of regulars here and it's easy to see why! Service like this is getting harder to find, unfortunately. And the ambiance? Cozy and full of character with a genuine sense of community that makes you feel right at home! It's a laid-back spot to unwind, get some work done (free wifi +outlets!), or meet with friends. The decor is eclectic and reminds me of a stylish living room. They definitely have a "sk8r boy" vibe going on here *fire emoji* There's a small corner with books and games, vinyl records, pop culture wall art, and vintage wooden furniture. Seating is limited to 6 tables, a sofa, and a small bar along the front window. So if you pop in during peak hours, you may not be able to find a seat. If you're in the Englewood area, Sleepwalker Coffee is a must visit! Cheers to more years of success - one year down and many more to go! Remember to support your local coffee shops!

Regrettably, they were currently unable to make the pour over coffee. Woman working behind the counter was nice and the Americano was a solid consolation prize. My wife liked but didn't love the horchata latte, was a bit underwhelmed by the "horchata" flavor. I would certainly give Coffeecol another try, as I'm intrigued by their direct from Colombian farm coffee.

Inside is cozy, and very in theme with a global coffee type situation. Showcasing a large selection of beans, pastries and other goods. While limited, there is some seating. I was greeted immediately upon entry. I asked if they had any 'iced fluffy drinks', told the barista I wanted the 'creamiest sweetest thing they had'. I was told about Tanzanian coffee being sweeter naturally and said I'd take that. Alas, I wasn't clear enough with what I wanted during, because she started what looked like the most glorious coffee making process. Each drip emitting a luscious aroma. When I asked how she was going to 'ice it', a look of disappointment washed over her face. I hadn't made it clear that I wanted cold coffee. She started taking things out of the fridge, asked what size I wanted (no giant venti type drinks here) and poured me a cold brew maybe? There seem to be less options for iced coffee than hot. So, after all the anticipation watching and inhaling the Tanzanian stuff, I was ready to taste this chilly brew...Regrettably, it was so weak. I was overly disappointed! Thinking about it now still saddens me. I usually take coffee as more a confection than serious strong adult drink. Always light and sweet, leche con cafe even! But never has it been this bland or lacking actual coffee flavor. I'm sure the hot coffee is a contender for best in town, but not the iced. I could have gone the green mermaid place like a block away and got a tastier, larger cup. Sorta ps here, this is for the Englewood shop which is not represented here

Lets start with the good, the cheese empanada was very cheese and with a lightly crispy/flaky crust. My daughter loved this! The caprese sandwich was warmed and so delicious! The chocolate mousse cup was light and airy with a crisp dark chocolate cup. One of the best mousse i have had! The cannolis my daughter loved . Now the bad... We ordered the mint lemonade for my daughter and found a bug in it ( like a fruit fly) as soon as it was brought to our table. When i took it back to the counter the lady just smiled at me and offered to replace saying she didnt "think" it was from the machine and just flying around. I told her it was unacceptable and would have been more upsetting had my daughter drank it. Then was given a light apology but thats all , which is so strange to me . Then i received the chai ( which at the counter i was informed could be made less sweet). It was overpoweringly sweet, when i took this back they said it was a premixed powder and already has the sweet mixed in ( very strange why i was told it could be adjusted then :/). Anyways, overall a nice clean place but check your drinks before drinking for sure . Loved all the food items we got though !

However, this happened over a decade ago and unfortunately, from my first impression of this place, there is seriously some need for marketing and a change tailored to incentivizing a newer generation of people to discovering this place. I was dissatisfied with the lack of desire to accept any of the coupons or online promotions offered by sites such as groupon and restaurant.com... The owner claimed that she had not been involved with the marketing departments from these sites, however, that is the only reason I discovered this place in the first place, and she refused to honor the coupons that we had purchased with our own money through the site. I wound up purchasing one of her famous apple cakes, which, in my opinion was extremely overpriced for the size, but I was sympathetic to her story and the hard work that went behind the business enough to purchase it. The cake was delicious, but not something groundbreaking. I know this is a brutal review, but I think it's important that the business makes some attempt going forward to clarify marketing directives and try to appeal to a newer audience instead of living within the same time period and not changing with the times. The owner is living over and over again what happened over 10 years ago and I'm looking for more creativity and expansion and collaboration from third party affiliates otherwise I see the business struggling due to lack of outside promotion and internal customer satisfaction initiatives.
