    Coquito Latte Avocado Arepa
    Joel R.

Very happy to have stumbled upon this spot in Hackensack. I needed a place to work and some breakfast and this place did not disappoint. The interior is really well designed with nice background music. It's a perfect place to get some work done. They also have a really good menu. I tried to Coquito Latte which was delicious and the Avocado arepa. There's alot of love in each menu item and great service as well.

Beautiful place, the inside was so colorful and well taken care of. Lucia was amazing, sweet, and made incredible drinks. The food was also pretty pretty good, my favorite being the chicken. Would definitely recommend.

Marimba is a must visit if you're in downtown Hackensack! It's a local cafe that serves authentic Colombian and Puerto Rican bites, coffee, fresh juices, and cannabis cocktails. The ambiance itself is a reason to stop by. The owners added so many creative and unique touches to the space that transports you to PR. You almost forget you're in the middle of Hackensack, NJ. Every inch of this cafe is to theme - green tiled furniture, cobble mosaic floor tiles, wall art, dominoes table, palm plants, Colombian coffee burlap bags on the ceiling vents, etc. There's a decent amount of seating with wifi and outlets. They also sell merchandise and CBD products. I've been here twice and tried a few different items from their menu. One thing that bothers me is that they don't have any prices listed. It's a huge pet peeve of mine. Is this coffee $5 or $7 or $10? Lol... and I don't want to hear any of that "prices are subject to change without notice" nonsense. The employees are friendly and helpful. They give great food/drink recommendations depending on your tastes. One thing they need to work on is their waiting times because they take awhile to bring your orders out, even when it's not busy. What I've tried... *Passion Fruit Juice (Jugo de Parcha) ~$5 - Very refreshing and tangy! Not overly sweet at all. You can tell they use real passion fruit pulp instead of artificial fruit syrups. *El Clasico Sandwich ~$8 - One of their most popular food items and I definitely understand why! It comes with turkey, egg, cheese, and guava sauce on pan sobao (sweet Puerto Rican bread). The bread is so soft and fluffy! The sandwich is a mixture of both sweet and salty flavors - it's so satisfying and hits the spot. *Waffle Bono ~$9 - A pan de bono (Colombian cheese bread) waffle served with mixed fruit, dulce de leche, and whipped cream! This wasn't too bad, but I wouldn't order it again. The waffles were too dry for me. I did enjoy the chewy texture and cheesy flavor, though. *Iced Coquito Latte ~$6 - If you've never had coquito... what are you doing? It's a Puerto Rican holiday drink typically made with coconut milk, sweetened condensed milk, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and... rum. I wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy coquito with espresso, but I was pleasantly surprised. The hints of bitterness from the coffee went well with the spices and sweetness from the coquito. It was a rich and creamy drink garnished with shredded coconut. Overall, this is a spot that's worth a visit. They even host engaging community events throughout the month like listening parties, open mics, and Sunday pop-up markets. Check them out!

Street parking available. Greeted as soon as we walked in. Barista asked if it was our first time there and she went over the top fave which is the coquito latte. I got that and shared their chicken sandwich with hubby. We also split a pan de bono. The latte was delicious. Not too sweet yet tasty. The sandwich was made fresh and with their own pink sauce on it made for a delightful lunch before heading to the airport. The pan de bono did not disappoint. Loved the vibe inside. A few people were working remotely in there. Not too loud but still pleasant music in the background. They also have a dominoes table. We were told thank you from afar as we walked out. Would come back based on the service and the coquito latte!

Tucked away on the side of main st. You'll find this cute and welcoming cafe serving up a variety of snack like bites and sandwiches. We tried the coquita iced latte, waffle and turkey sandwich. It was quite busy but we got our food within fifteen mins after snagging a table. They have card games and dominos on the table which is nice. Food and latte was delicious. Waffle was chewy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The turkey sandwich with egg was nicely cheesed and toasted. Everything was good, but I guess a bit on the pricier side compared to other cafes. All in for about $30 with tip. They don't list prices here which is some of the feedback, but overall friendly and welcoming place serving up good eats!

Returned to Marimba Cafe and, once again, was impressed and satisfied with my purchases. This time, I tried the iced Coquito Latte and it was very good. I also ordered the Pastelillo De Carne (Puerto Rican style empanada filled with ground beef and sweet plantain). I enjoyed every bite of this tasty treat and highly recommend it. Talking to the owners is always a pleasure. The way they describe their journey to decorating and managing this cafe is amazing and I wish them continued success.

Best cafe in Hackensack! Marimba cafe brings good food, delicious juices and coffee, and most importantly cares about the community and works hard to bring the community together! They host various events every month, and I highly recommend going to them!

Cute spot with great aesthetic ... decor was top notch and went along with the greatness of the coquito latte. Service was great the cashier was friendly and made a suggestion since I explained it was my first time there. Def will come back to try some of their food as from looking at someone else's plate it looked delicious.

Marimba Café is absolutely to die for! Their small treats are so tasty and they have the nicest people every working here! From the owner to the baristas, everybody is so nice! Their decor is also super cool. Feels almost like you're in Puerto Rico. I would definitely recommend their pastelillos and their fresh juices! Their waffles are also super tasty! My favorite part about Marimba is all the different events they do throughout the month. La Placita Sundays is my absolute favorite, as they bring in different small vendors for you to shop! Such a cool place overall!!

Yummy place I tried out for the first time! Such soft bread and waffles that are evenly baked. I didn't feel stuffed so was perfect portion size. I loved the coquito drink too and that is my new favorite drink. Was nice and quiet atmosphere to get work done. I recommend 10/10.

I absolutely love the vibe here every time we come... like who is your designer and how can I get them to do my house ?! We recently visited with a group of friends and it was the first time we ordered a little bit of everything off the menu. The coquito latte is my fav, my friends enjoyed their coffees and said the Rosas coffee was the perfect hint to add. The food was surprisingly really yummy! I'm not sure why I didn't expect them to have actual meals but they were a hit! I couldn't get over how soft and tasty the bread was in the chicken sandwich. They also have a variety of events that they host throughout the month and I love to see how creative they get - you can tell they put a lot of thought into it. I'd recommend you pay them a visit, you won't regret it!

We were in Hackensack on Sunday morning and the place was not far from where we were so we decided to give it a try. We are glad we did. We walked to the counter and were asked if it was our first visit. We said said yes and Lucia took time to walk us through the menu. We placed our order and sat down. It had a simple food menu and a very extensive hot and cold drink menu. My wife got waffles and I got a chicken sandwich. I got a hot Americano and my wife got a hot Macha Latte. Lucia brought it all out to us. Everything was good we have no issues with anything. It was one of those places where the drinks were good the food was good it's a neat atmosphere and everything was enjoyable. We will definitely go back.

I was back in my hometown for a short trip and wanted to work remote from a cafe. I did a quick Yelp search and stumbled across Marimba Cafe - the new name caught my eye and the aesthetics and offerings here solidified my decision. I don't think I've ever come across a sit down Latin cafe here in Bergen County so to me, since moving away, it's the first of its kind. Also first of its kind to proudly offer CBD infused menu items. I believe they just opened in November! The vibes in here are immaculate. My favorite feature is the stone floor - it just transports you somewhere new! The color scheme in here is also appealing, and the Latin music made me want to dance while I took on meetings haha. Overall, really solid branding and concept. Since I was working west coast hours, I spent the whole afternoon into close here. It's a really great place to work as there were other people working remote. They have comfortable seating and outlets conveniently located along the booth. I will say though that the booth seating was just a tad too high for the table so it took some time getting used to. Also, they do play the music fairly loud (a must) in here so it can be a tad distracting if you're taking meetings and have to speak. Since I stayed here for over 5 hours, I was able to observe the sense of community Marimba has fostered - they greet customers like friends! I also saw on their Instagram that they host community events like paint nights and dance nights and support other local businesses with their La Placita Sundays. I love everything this business is about. I ordered the coquito latte hot and a pan de bono. The latte was solid and I wish the pan de bono was just a bit bigger! I would love to try more here. Congrats to the owners of Marimba, I wish the cafe tons of business and success! I definitely want to visit again when I'm back in town.

Also because they carry Dime Industries and honestly it wasn't worth it. No first time customer discount which already felt like a miss. The delivery was even worse. $13 delivery fee and then I find out the driver doesn't carry change. Not just that driver either - I called the store and they told me this is their standard and it's expected all change is additional tip so it's basically expected. That puts you in a really uncomfortable position because you're forced to overtip or figure it out on the spot. I ended up tipping cash thinking that was it but then the card machine added another $5 tip on top. 20 minute ordeal because the driver didn't have my $10 for change and card machine wasn't working. Ended up tipping that much after all btwn. Card & cash. The store couldn't take my payment over the phone either. Total tip came out to $21 which is crazy for what it was. Between the fees and the way they handle tipping I wouldn't order from here again. Not to mention I ordered hours before on Weedmaps awaiting my delivery which was cancelled. I was told they have no officiation. Why not attempt to resolve w/Weedmaps as I am sure I am not the first customer this has happened to. I did not receive my order until after 9PM

If you need pain relief, have insomnia, need post-workout recovery, need a non-THC product for those who have to test on occasion, or just need to chill, they got you! And the prices are decent too. The boutique is at the corner of a very busy little intersection with not the best parking, but the area is very walkable and also easily accessible by bus. I am especially delighted to support a POC owned business that is both S. Asian and Black owned, which makes my little dougla heart leap. We had a great time sampling products during their launch, learning about some of the product offerings and their benefits. It can also feel, from the outside, like the people doing the most are not always the ones being recognized or supported. That said, there are three individuals who consistently rise above these challenges and completely change the experience for the better: Jayde, Christian, and Kevin. These three employees go above and beyond in ways that are impossible to miss. In an environment where it would be easy to dismiss customers or move them along quickly, they do the opposite. They take their time, they listen, and they make sure you actually understand what you're purchasing--whether that means explaining effects, differences between products, or helping you feel confident in your choice instead of overwhelmed. Jayde stands out for her ability to read people and meet them where they are. She's patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely cares about making sure customers feel comfortable and informed rather than rushed. You never feel like "just another sale" when she's helping you. Christian brings consistency, professionalism, and a calm confidence that makes the entire experience smoother. He's thorough in his explanations and clearly takes pride in doing things correctly, even when the environment around him feels chaotic. Kevin is equally impressive--attentive, personable, and clearly invested in making sure customers leave satisfied rather than confused. He asks the right questions and doesn't cut corners, which is something that matters greatly in a cannabis dispensary. What's most important to say is this: these three employees deliver excellence even when it isn't demanded, rewarded, or acknowledged. They show dedication, integrity, and care in a workplace that doesn't always make it easy to do so. Their work does not go unnoticed by the people they help, even if it sometimes feels unseen internally. I'm writing this review because I believe people like Jayde, Christian, and Kevin deserve to be recognized--not just for doing their jobs, but for doing them with intention, compassion, and professionalism. They are the reason customers return, and they deserve to be seen for the value they bring every single day.
