We have been ordering from Pizza Side when we have been craving some good pizza. I always get a Margherita pizza, and the one from here has been good, couldn't pass up a good review on it. When I ask for eztra basil, it is often added in more than enough - I'm completely happy with it. We have never ate at Pizza Side yet. My obsession with this place started when a friend of mine ordered one of their Detroit Styled Pepperoni pizzas with hot honey and from that moment on my husband and I hooked. We ordered through DoorDash because my friend raved about their pizza. Me being the novice Jersey pizza gal went along with it and good golly, their stuff is legit! We did one grandma style, thinner crust but still chewy then we went thiiiiick with the Roni & Ricotta Detroit Style pizza. Best of both worlds, I tell you. Came here on a Friday afternoon with a friend who suggested this spot and I'm glad he did. The place is bright and has a few tables for sit down, not a huge place. We got the Detroit style pizza of the Ronni Bomb ($22.95) and I will say it reminded me of my visit to Chicago. The pizza was thick but very airy and light. The crust was cheesy and the combo with the pepperoni was obviously delicious. I had to get a can of ginger ale ($1.50) to wash it down. Love this place, only wish it was closer so I could get it more often. I only got takeout from here once because it's a haul from where I am, but I will definitely find a way to make it back here. Small location, pretty much takeout only though they have one or two tables inside. Street parking only so can be tough to find if you aren't lucky enough to snag a spot near the entrance. Get the Detroit style pizza, I'm sure their NY style is good too but their specialty is the Detroit and not many places can do the pan crust like this. I recommend the Grandpa pizza which is done very well, although would probably prefer a little more sauce since there is a lot of cheese. The garlic knots were similarly fantastic, not overly oily like at some other places. My wife generally isn't the biggest fan of pizza but even she really enjoyed it and recognized the quality. I've also tried the cauliflower crusted one with the pepperoni and jalapenos, again another yummy choice. My kiddos get a small plain pizza and they both like it. They ask if we can order from here about once a week. I have only gotten deliever, but they are located pretty close to my home, and usually arrive in 30 minutes. This is one of my favorite places for Detroit style pizza. I've ordered takeout from here since they opened. While the pizza is great, prices have increased, which is not uncommon. However, it's not worth getting sides. I recently ordered a side of broccoli for $7.95, but there was less than a cup. It's been a while since I've ordered from here. The food is reliably good and affordable. I had their veggie cauliflower pizza again and k enjoyed it. It's a little on the saucier side but k actually like that it's not too cheesy. It's filling without making you feel sluggish. My husband tried their calzone for the first time. They have a build you own option and there are plenty of choices for toppings. He still loves their garlic knots (though they don't hold up until the next day- they're best eaten fresh). Took a gamble and tried a new pizza spot, Pizza Side. My fiancée and I were surprised how close by it was to us, and how we only recently found out about it! I got the cauliflower crust truffle mushroom pizza and it was a 10/10. I added Mikes hot honey for that spicy, sweet kick. The quality of the crust and the cheese, truffle, mushroom combination is absolutely genius! My favorite, so far. We also tried the buffalo wings and it was also very, very good. It was the perfect level of spicy and the wings were cooked to perfection. Lastly, we ordered the Philly cheesesteak sandwich and that was the highlight of the day. We were surprised by how buttery soft the focaccia bread was and the meat, cheese and stuffing inside the sandwich was portioned perfectly...yes it's a pizza shop but with great sandwiches too. I ordered three slices of peperoni pizza, one for my dad, one for my mom and one for myself and, boy, were they out of this world. The crust was thin and it had plenty of cheese, marinara sauce and a generous amount of peperoni. From the moment I took a bite to the moment I finished the slice they were simply "magnifico!" When we called up and ordered for delivery, we asked for it to be "extra hot" but yet it was luke warm upon delivery. I have been ordering from pizza side for a while now, but after nothing but excellent experiences it was time to write a review. I ordered pick up through the Slice app and my order was ready ahead of time. I ordered the phenomenal veggie pizza and since I am vegan, I ordered it without cheese. As always, the pizza crust is crispy and the toppings are beautifully proportioned to my tastes. I do not like too much moisture on top or the crust gets soggy. Their french fries are always spectacular so I ordered some of those as well. I also ordered a chicken Parm in vodka sauce sandwich for a friend, and she is still talking about it today. When I arrived to pick up my food, they ran it out to my car, at their insistence, and went as far as putting it inside the car for me. CHEESY - cheese is covered over the dough and on every part inch of the pie. CRISP - when the cheese spills over and creates that burn cheese effect. CUPS - pepperoni cups are amazing. Flavorful and when they burn they taste even more amazing. Not to be forgotten: LIGHT - even though this is deep style square pizza, it was not dense. SAUCE - zesty not overpowering. When this place first opened, I gave it a shot. I had a slice at the store--it wasn't bad, nothing amazing, but decent enough to consider coming back. A little while later, I decided to try a delivery order and got a whole pie. Unfortunately, it was so bad I ended up tossing most of it out. Still, I figured maybe it was just a one-off. So I decided to give them one more chance--this time I went in person and ordered a pie for takeout. I specifically asked for a fresh pie, not something reheated. While they prepped it, I walked just a few stores over to grab a newspaper and came back in under 10 minutes. The guy behind the counter said it was ready--suspiciously fast, but I took it home anyway. I live less than a mile away, and once again, the pie tasted awful. It didn't resemble anything freshly made--dry, with that unmistakable reheated flavor. In my opinion, there is a difference between a fresh pie and one that's been reheated. At this point, I suspected what might really be going on: they're likely re-cycling out old pies that have been sitting under the counter, reheating them and passing them off as new, just to save on costs. When stock gets low, they make another batch and repeat the cycle. Instead of focusing on quality and customer satisfaction, it seems they're more interested in maximizing profits. Needless to say, I never went back--and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone expecting a fresh, quality pizza. read more

In my top 3 pizza places in the Fort Lee-ish area. The Detroit roni bomb is a nearly perfect pizza. I give Pizza Side so much love for using the pepperoni which cups as they cook it, the pizza AND the pepperoni are perfectly crispy on the edges. Garlic knots are a perfect blend of crunchy on top and chewy in the middle with plenty of flavor and a respectable amount of sauce on the side. Garlic bread is legit. Lots of minced garlic is visible and the butter/oil is well covered to keep the inside of the bread moist Their standard pie is also great so enjoy your circles and triangles just as much as the detroit rectangle. My first experience with Pizza Side NJ was in all honesty, underwhelming. I was excited to finally try this place after bookmarking it a few months ago, got the delivery through slice app in about 45 minutes but was disappointed at the lukewarm pizza and just overall not impressed. I got the Sausage & Pepper Detroit style pizza which, because it was lukewarm and I perceive, a bit old on the counter, it was quite tough to chew. Don't get me wrong, we still found it flavorful and airy inside like many remarked, but I dunno, maybe it's just a bit too dough-y for me and I honestly struggled finishing 2 slices. Perhaps this is more about the Detroit style than the actual flavor - I didn't "love" it like some others. Jalapeno poppers were just OK. It came with marinara but I much prefer sauces from Apple Bee's. House salad had nice bits of mozzarella cheese but wasn't anything to write home about either. Maybe it was a delayed delivery fluke? I def. feel that it would've been better if dined in. I'll give them another try some other time. read more

My pizza from here was sweet. I wasn't expecting that. The crust was good and the flavors were too, but I'm just puzzled by the sweetness of the pizza I ordered. I was expecting spicy and salty, not sweet and spicy. Otherwise, the crust was still thin and the ingredients good. I really can't recommend this. We got the white pizza and the vodka Detroit style pizza. The white pie was so dry and salty, without the ricotta it would be inedible. The vodka Detroit style pizza was DRY DRY DRY!!! So incredibly dry. The sauce was only at the very tip of each slice and it was so dry it felt like days old pizza. Isn't it supposed to be freshly made? Maybe because the Detroit vodka pie is "new" they haven't really gotten a hang of it but having it taste old and stale is unacceptable. Was not crispy, it was stale. I did order it through delivery at the end of the day so it's possible they gave me an old pizza. The cheesecake... don't get me started. It's either undercooked or the baker tried to make cheesecake but made it into a key lime pie? Its disgusting. Also inedible. Edit: The owner reached out to me to tell me about himself and the family business they own. While I appreciate small business and hope they prosper... I am not a horrible person for feeling angry and upset I spent money of food that was inedible. I won't be guilted into changing it. Maybe it was an off day as the other reviews seem to enjoy it, but still at the end of the day no matter how nice the owner is it's not going to change the fact that I couldn't eat a single bite of their food. OMG Garlic Knots as big as your head, OK maybe not but as big as my fist and 4 for $1.50, I pay $1 each in NYC. They got the usual fare for a real Italian Pizza joint with the Parm sandwiches, Pasta. Calzones and appetizers and more. But what is to die for here for sure Square Sicilian Pepperoni or Sausage and Peppers pies that are more like the Detroit style because of the light, airy dough, and savory, browned cheese perimeter.  I ask for a square of this beautiful Sausage and Peppers pie that looks like a work of art that I could hang on my wall, they gave me the corner piece, crispy semi-burnt cheese on the edges just a touch of sausage, and I was hooked. This place was great! I stopped in to try the Detroit style pizza, my first time. I got a slice of the pepperoni and a slice of the margarita Detroit places and both were delicious. There's some thing about the crust and the caramelized cheese that is magic and addictive. I've been back a couple times and the Detroit Roni pizza is my hands down favorite, but I keep on meaning to try the signature pie.
