I have quite low spice tolerance, but the mild was a good amount of spice for me. The chicken skin was super crispy and the chicken was pretty tender. Service was fast and the space is clean. The honey and sauce really help knock the chicken out of the park. Toast is fine haha, but otherwise price is not so bad. But I'm here for one thing and one thing only, Nashville hot chicken! The spice level varies from "no spice" to "reaper," and though I didn't find the reaper to live up to its pepper's namesake (to me more like a medium), the chicken tenders/sandwiches are quite delicious and flavorful. I'm rating 4 stars because the two times I've placed a pickup order it's never been ready waiting at the time given to me in the app. I'm always waiting which is definitely frustrating. I won't complain about the taste and quality of the chicken or fries or the sauce either! Those are my favorite and the pickles are very crunch and the best. Of all the hot chicken options that I've tried in the NE, I'd rank this around mid pack. Its still really good, but not the best IMO. The chicken is on smaller size, but then again the price is also lower. I ordered just a sandwich and was a little hungry after. I prefer places that have a more substantial piece of chicken. Unpopular opinion... the hot chicken trend is fun, but Dave's does not live up to the hype. It was packed full of people when we arrived on a rainy day. This location was a bit tight but the decor was cool. My son ordered chicken tenders--medium heat with an Oreo shake. He loved his shake but said the tenders lacked flavor. He mentioned this before I tasted mine. I ordered a slider with a tender--extra hot. I have to agree with him about the chicken lacking flavor. The spices were perfect, but it was missing salt to bring out those spices more. My wife ordered a slider--hot. She loved hers, so who knows. They all came with fries, however, the fries could have been cooked a bit more. Also the sliders could use more slaw. Crinkle fries are hard to get right in my opinion. The store was extremely crowded with not enough seating for everyone. We had to wait for a table to finish eating so that we can sit down and also enjoy our meal. Then, when you pay, the register gives you the option to give a tip on the screen or a tip jar! That's an automatic one star drop for me because this isn't a sit down restaurant with table service. Where could they improve? Well... my bf got the hottest spice level which was reaper. They made him sign a waiver and everything! Came here with my friends on the second day and opened, was exceptionally and pleasantly surprised at how good it was. Food: very few places, nowadays specialize in just one thing, and this place is surprising how they keep it bare-bones. The spice was very very nice and felt like a proper Nashville hot chicken fries were nice we seasoned and I actually really enjoy the mac & cheese. Aesthetic: the place is absolutely strange, and I love it. The mascot for Dave's is a rubber chicken head, and they decide to go with it by essentially posting strange art around the place. I'd very good amount to see then, but definitely not enough for how crazy the response was on the first few days (there was about 20 different tables). Service: the people working the register seemed very stressed, and to be fair, there was a steady line of 15 to 20 people lined up outside the store, not including within.
