Firehouse Subs delivers a solid sandwich, but the experience isn't without its downsides. The subs themselves are flavorful, with good portion sizes and fresh ingredients--you can tell they put some care into the food. Service was decent, nothing standout but not bad either. However, the cleanliness of the restaurant really brings the overall experience down. The bathrooms were honestly disgusting--poorly maintained and clearly not being checked regularly. It's hard to fully enjoy your meal when the environment feels neglected like that. Overall, the food keeps it at an average 3 stars, but the lack of cleanliness, especially in the restrooms, is something they seriously need to address. read more

Disgusting sandwiches every ingredients very cheap quality and yuck ... not recommended at all please keep away from there...

Sandwiches are good. Quality of meat appears to be good. I purchased a Smoke Provolone Turkey. Staff was attentive to my modifications.

Their hook n' ladder sandwhich had very little meat. It's embarressing. Every sandwhich shop, including Jersey Mike's, are in severe decline in quality and pricing. Its falling off a cliff read more

Ordered: Medium Hook & Ladder (free with coupon): white bread with smoked turkey breast, roast beef (subbed from Virginia honey ham), Monterey Jack, lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo, and deli mustard with a dill spear on the side Chips & Drink Combo (~$3): Lay's potato chips & fountain Diet Coke Aya's take: First time trying Firehouse Subs and I must say I'm impressed. I've developed a sandwich obsession lately and I knew this was going to hit based on all the ingredients in the sandwich. Because I don't eat pork. I substituted it with roast beef which was the right move! The roast beef was loaded with flavors that came through way more than the smoked turkey breast. The bread was warm and soft and all the toppings were absolutely necessary to make this sandwich what it is. I could've easily inhaled a Large sandwich but the Medium is solid especially when making it a combo. The Chips & Drink just completed the meal for me and I love that they offer a pickle on the side. So glad I got to try it; definitely more likely to come back now! read more

For a chain, I must say their subs are extraordinary. They use good ingredients. The honey ham sub uses good mustard and some secret mayo which makes it very tasty yet still light and doesn't taste heavy. Their meatball sub is always my favorite. And the pepperoni pizza sub they just have these gigantic slices of pepperoni on it. I prefer firehouse any day over Subway. I just wish they have more locations. By the way, there's one at Newark airport and it was very good too. read more

My clients were in the mood for Firehouse Subs so we ordered from here. I ordered the jerk turkey sub on wheat. Everything was ordered online. When I arrived I waited a bit for them to make it. I parked in the plaza lot. The food was ready and I left after it was done. When I tried the sub it was very delicious. I really enjoyed the jerk flavors. It wasn't hot enough though. All in all I had a good experience. read more

The foundation of a good sandwich is the bread. If you start with bad bread, even with the best meats and toppings, the sandwich suffers. In the case of Firehouse, the bread is borderline awful and the meats are sub par. Firehouse is to sandwiches what Dominos is to pizza. There are so many good mom and pop deli's in this area I'm not sure how they survive. read more

This was my first time trying Firehouse Subs and my last. T-Mobile Tuesdays had a special for Firehouse Subs this week. Buy 1 Medium Hook & Ladder and get the second one for free, so I was very excited to try it. First, there was an app problem. Not a problem downloading the app but when going to pay, I got a message saying the payment method didn't work and try again. Well, I tried 4 GOOD credit cards and it still didn't work. I even asked the store manager if I could pay directly at the store but I couldn't. Just when I was about to forget it, for some reason it worked. This took at least a half hour. Not good. That was the first problem. Then, after I got my order and went to eat it, first of all, it didn't look anything like the photo which is very deceptive. One slice of turkey and one slice of ham!! Really!! Not only have I never seen a ridiculous amount of meat put on a sub but again, it didn't look anything like the photo. This was desceptive advertising and it's possible you could be liable for a lawsuit. So, two Hook & Ladder subs for a total of $9.59. Sounds good right? With just one slice of turkey and one slice of ham, some lettuce, tomato and onion. Actually, a TOTAL RIPOFF!! MY FIRST AND VERY LAST TIME AT FIREHOUSE SUBS. You just lost a very possible long time customer. read more

The restaurant is very clean and tables are spaced out. The beverage area is clean and Soda Machine has where you can pick any flavor pretty much out there. The limeade Zero is refreshing! I had the Firehouse Steak and Cheese sandwich. It wasn't horrible but they put too much mayonnaise on it and you can't taste the cheese at all. The portion size is rather skimpy for the price. They also have a rewards program that offers you a free beverage with purchase for signing up and gives you a free sandwich for your birthday. With an offer or coupon, I'd return but other than that, there are other sandwich places that are much better. read more

Clean, convenient location in Totowa that pays homage to their local firehouse. Situated in a plaza there is ample parking and good service. I always enjoy their rotation of new sub recommendations, today I enjoyed the jerk turkey on whole wheat. The only recommendation I would add is to provide additional options for hot sauces as other locations I've been to have many more choices. Thank you! read more

Terrible service experience. Arrived at 8:30 pm to an empty store and two employees. As I entered instead of a greeting I was met with "Just so you know we close at 9pm, and we have no meatballs, chicken, ham or cheddar cheese" Food solid, but service unfriendly. I walk in and it's just me in the whole store/no one else here. Two employees. I acknowledge and order right away "second reminder-we close at 9 pm" check my watch ... it's 8:32pm. Takes a couple minutes to get my sandwich- normal. Hands me my sandwich and says a third time " I just want to remind you we close at 9pm" check my watch it's 8:37pm. Really? No one else in the place. I'm one guy with a medium sub. Made to feel I was a burden the entire visit. Ate my sub and left by 8:45pm Motto- aggressively anti service oriented i. The last hour of business. Going home is the #1 priority read more

I walked into the firehouse subs and immediately turned around it smelt like butt hole and ammonia. And they had thenerve to have indoor seating. Who the hell would want to eat in a place that smells that bad? I never eat at a place where it smells disgusting. How would anyone even have an appetite? After they walk in a place like that, it will immediately makes you nauseous and not want to eat anything!! I'm sure they're making money because they're still in business. And they don't have the money to make sure their establishment smells decent for someone to even want to eat there? read more

All I can say is Excellent, Excellent, Excellent!!!! One of the best locations I've been to and best sandwiches I've ever had. The staff are caring and professional and served me and my family with so much care. They were friendly and diligent, they crafted our order from soup to sandwich with ease and showed why they are different from other sandwich places. The bread was soft and fresh, the meat was tender and the pickles were crisp. I am SO happy I found this location(well lit and CLEAN) Will definitely be back....NO More Subways, with their rough, hard sandwiches. Thank You FIREHOUSE!!!!! read more

This was my first time at Firehouse Subs. One of my coworkers recommended this spot. I ordered the veggie sub on a wheat bread. The sub includes lettuce, tomatoes, onions, caramelized onions, sautéed peppers, Italian dressing, mustard, mayo and three different types of cheese: cheddar, Monterey Jack, and provolone. This is the only veggie sub and it tastes super bland. In comparison to Subway, there's less variety and more expensive. If you're a vegetarian, go to Subway instead. read more

wow, for sandwiches that their variety of sandwiches really surprised me and that all of their sandwiches were really delicious and very flavorful that I think about these sandwiches so I really think that they deserve a five star. We ordered the ham and lettuce sandwich and also a pepperoni sandwich and let me tell you that the ham and lettuce one was very filling and refreshing that I ate the whole thing even though it was like really big. The pepperoni sandwich was also nice. It tasted like a filling pizza but a nice ratio on a sandwich. The service was nice. They got out our food really quick even though there is a pretty decently long line so I commemorate them for the pretty fast service which took. The ambience is just OK there's nothing really special about the ambience. It's just a neat food chain and it's just OK so no notes about that but the food and the service is well and the sandwiches are just to dream for. read more

Great subs every time I come by they make it perfect they have never disappointed me so far

Very disappointed with my experience here, i was really looking forward to visit this place because i haven't been here in years. Right after I ordered is when everything went downhill. Food really took a really long time to make which I don't understand since they're not cooking anything there. Breads are super cold and the meat are not good at all. Some of the employees are on their phone texting while making the sandwiches in between. Not coming back to this place at all. read more

The sandwiches here are always Fantastic. Ordering in store is easy and if it's your first time, you're in luck because EVERYTHING is good.

Had the smoked brisket sandwich. It was tasty but has way too much BBQ sauce. Not very much value for the cost. They serve s dill pickle on the side. They have a really kewl Coke dispenser-you pick what you want and it dispenses it. Coke Zero Lime was different! Overall service was good and it was very clean. May come back if they offer a coupon/offer. read more

Reasonable price, taste was good, delivery adequate and the order experience was as expected.

So I've been to a few different firehouse sub locations so I know what to expect from them quality wise since it's a chain that keeps to a certain standard. And no different here, the quality of the food was on point, everything tasted fresh and their Coca Cola machine with their 100+ flavors to choose from was working fine. Few points that were missed here was that the hot sauces (which I love) were kinda low on inventory and some of them that they did have, had very low amount (literally 2drops) of hot sauce left in them. They're were also no small cups left to pour the hot sauce into and when going up to the counter to ask for more, staff was chatting away with each other instead of immediately acknowledging me. Trust me, I don't mind them chatting away but at least make sure you don't have your back turned to the customer side while doing so. All by all was a good experience and food was delicious. By the way I tried their new Jamaican jerk turkey sub and it was del! read more

Terrible experience here. Workers weren't friendly at all. I waited 10 minutes only to be told my sandwich wasn't even done yet and that it was "just being prepared" I told them I wanted a refund and left. Waste of time and won't be here again. read more

FireHouse Sub's and ironically 2 ex firemen who are brothers named Robin and Chris Sorenson made their dream come true back in 94. They have great subs with cool names like the HOOK & LADER, it has Smoked turkey, Virginia honey ham with Monterey Jack cheese lettuce tomato onion mayo deli mustard salt and pepper and Italian dressing it even gives you the calories. The Half has 700 cal while the Whole has 1390 calories for those of us who are conscious of this thing. They also have a battalion chief which is consist of roast beef with cheddar cheese crispy onion straws mayo lettuce and spicy horseradish. My personal favorite is the smokehouse beef and cheddar brisket mayo sweet baby Ray's BBQ's..Deliciousness that melts in your mouth while parading with flavors and giving you a super HERO life like feel. They also do catering deliver and on- site set up..Just ask about it...They also cater to kids with either Meatball, Turkey and provolone, ham and cheddar cheese which includes the 12 ounce fountain drink dessert and a fire hat all for $4.29 how cool is that. So you've been thinking of going there think no more waste no more time getting in your car take a ride family and kids included and enjoy your meals. read more

This franchise is popping up everywhere. This location has plenty of parking in the lot compared to the one in Wayne. I forgot what I ordered but it was either corned beef or pastrami with no cheese on the whole wheat bread. I made it a meal with sun chips and a soda. Overall, it was ok lunch. I wouldn't go out of my way to dine here. There's 2 large TV to help pass time. The hot sauces on the counter looked very old so I didn't help myself to it. read more

So far every visit had been pretty quiet, which compared to since of the places we eat is such a welcome change. The subs here are really fresh and we love spicing up the subs with a 7 or 8 from their hot sauce selection! They've got the Coke computer for lack of a better term with those crazy flavors that they have it you can mix then and make your own. All stores should have them. We'd like to see the other soda vendors make them too! They have a loyalty program too and you get a free sub for your birthday! Just sign up in advance as sometimes these offers don't kick in for a month. Outdoor tackles for eating at, although they are between the buildings so it's not park-like, but still nice to have! Obviously I can eat a full sub, but a half might do the job for the average eater. read more

Food was pretty good, nothing crazy though. It was pretty awesome how they had a lot of different options for hot sauces from very mild to very hot. The cashier wasn't so great, I asked him for a #2 medium, and he ended up just charging me for the sub. I was annoyed. This is my first time here. There are 5 other people in here (one already eating; one employee on break; a couple waiting for food; and a woman waiting for a to-go order. It took much longer than necessary to get my order - a small sub. I ordered the small meatball sub and was disappointed purely for the fact that a "small" is the same as a "kids" size, which is 4". Granted, I didn't need a ton of food but 4" is an arbitrary size.... especially for the cost. Basically you're paying 6" price and getting less in my opinion. As for taste, it was fine. I had a 2 hour 45 minute drive ahead of me so this was purely a pit stop to avoid hunger later on. It satisfied its purpose but I don't think I'd go out of my way to go here again. It's fine for what it is but I wasn't overly impressed by anything. read more
