a sandwich with onions and meat

Ordered the "famous tuna" and got a soggy loaf of bread with onions, tomato and cheese. Should be called the "infamous tuna" for the lack of it. Thanks for the tablespoon of tuna on my sub. What an absolute joke!

Giant tuna fish omg the best!!!

You can not get a better tuna sub in the state of New Jersey then at Lenny and John s i been going to this spot since I was a baby and Johnny still making the best subs consistently for year after year . The place is super clean and easy access from the parkway . You on the street parking and in back of the building too . They have home made salads ,potato ,and macaroni ect . They also run daily specials and have the brand of soda pop orange, black cherry and root-beer made for just them !

    Our Italian sub

Ordered from here yesterday and was terribly disappointed. We ordered a tuna sub a whole Italian sub(pictured below) and a chicken salad sandwich that was overloaded with huge chunks of onions. The tuna was ok. The Italian sub had very little cold cuts looked like maybe one slice of each. Just not what I was expecting for the amount of money spent. Lesson learned I guess.

Tuna on white, side of pickle slices. Why not?

Great sub shop. Was my first time in, and if your a submarine fiend, it's definitely worth the trip. Bread was on point - soft and a nice chew. Veggies were super fresh, and the tuna salad (which as you might see from other reviews, has a cult like following) is definitely legit. If you don't like super creamy tuna, maybe not your cup of tea (fish?), but flavor was on point definitely. And bonus points for the thin sliced garlic pickles on the side. A little shake of vinegar & oil, a dash of spice, a couple friendly smiles from the owners... I became an instant fan. Will come back for more, and may consider changing this to a 5 Star review, but need to try more things first. But please don't wait on me -- go check it out yourself, and you be the judge :)

This place doesn't get enough love. Yummy cold-cut sandwiches, and if you're looking for a solid chicken cutlet sandwich. Def check it out.

Points for having whole wheat bread... otherwise standard sandwich but definitely not bad. Will satisfy a craving for sub sandwiches...

The Godfather was spot on and then had the #13 chicken cutlet with fresh mozz which they make themselves and then bruschetta and arugula! Spot on with the vinegar and great bread too. The service was also very friendly! Family run

Because I found this little gem, not even 5 minutes away from me. And they have a PARKING LOT. And they nailed it. I got a Turkey, salami & provolone with lettuce (they use romaine) and tomato - it was awesome and very filling. My friend got a hot chicken cutlet sub with fresh mozz and it was YUM. I was a little jealous, although you can't really compare a Turkey sandwich to that. We also split some sausage, peppers & onions which we both agreed was fire. They have a nice variety of chips and drinks, prepared deli foods, and they're stocked with some imported Italian products like pastas, cookies, sodas etc. And to top it all off, the employees were very attentive, kind & fast! Turns out they opened up in November of 2020 but I would have never known. They'll keep getting my business, and I hope they get a little more recognition because they definitely deserve it. Plus I like having a good deli around the corner from me so please check this place out and support them so they stay lol

Absolutely lives up to the hype!…read more The pastrami is insanely tender like melt in your mouth kind of good. The sandwich is definitely messy, but that's how you know it's done right when its packed and stacked with meat! Even with a line out the door, the guys behind the counter cutting the meat are friendly and keep things moving. They even hand out samples while you wait, which makes the whole experience feel welcoming (and honestly makes the wait easier).

Update: I've finally tried the pastrami. The sandwiches are huge. We got the pastrami cheese…read morefries, and a corned beef reuben. The pastrami is really good and is very tender. The fries are steak fries, which I don't typically love but it worked well as a vehicle for the pastrami. The corned beef is a bit dry. We had some pierogies but these were superrrr oily. We also ordered a matzoh ball soup because I've never had it before. But the second I saw them microwave it in a plastic container, I knew I had made a mistake. It was basically just a matzoh ball in very salty chicken bouillon water. I'm sad that was my first matzoh ball soup experience but am not deterred from finding a real one elsewhere. Based on my previous visit and this one, it seems like you should just stick to a classic pastrami sandwich. It's big enough to share between two people. Next time, I'd like to dine in and eat it fresh. The sandwiches also come with a bunch of pickles, which was nice. Tip #1 - there is a parking lot but because there are so many stores and it's next to Bratek Deli, it's a nightmare. It did also happen to be Good Friday, so maybe that made it worse? I don't remember it being that bad the first time around. Tip #2 - I called ahead to place my order but still had to wait 15 minutes extra after the quoted time. They prioritize walk-in customers, so you might as well just order in store.
