Very friendly staff with tasty food. Don't know why the hate. It's in a mall with good tasting pizza and apps. Kid friendly as well. Fast turn around time so you're not waiting long either for a table or food. A good option for drinks and food here. read more

The good was Terry our waitress. Friendly, accommodating and fast. And the lunch special my sister had was good too. The bad was the mistake on my cauliflower pizza. I asked for no cheese today on my california pizza. After my order came, it was dry, and without taste. Unfortunately, I couldn't finish eating it and Terry returned it without charge. I dont usually do that. But this time I was glad to send it back. I would suggest if going back. Go with the classic original orders. But be prepared if you are going to change the menu for any small reasons.. read more

We decided to give them a try as the food court at this mall is always packed, no matter the day or time! We were quickly seated and the server came over fairly fast to take our order - the server was very nice, but he was slow to write down what we ordered so we had to repeat our order twice; he was an older man, and very nice to us. We were seated next to the "kitchen" and we really liked the open concept, as seeing someone prepare your food is somewhat reassuring about their standards. I ordered their lunch combo - half a chicken california club sandwich and a side salad. Their Caesar salad was okay, pretty standard bottled dressing and actually nice croutons. The sandwich was also okay, there was not as much chicken as I would've liked, but the avocado was fresh and so was the bread. It did take a while for us to be able to get the bill. Our server didn't check back on us after we got out food and we weren't able to call him over, as he never looked our way, so we had to signal another server to get a to-go container and the check. Overall, the experience was fairly average but definitely a good choice for lunch, especially if you do their combo, since it's pretty affordable and filling enough. read more

Everytime I visit a California pizza kitchen i am just a very very happy person .To start with they give you some fresh bread and herb infused olive oil. Their watermelon cooler is my favorite summer drink . My most loved pizza here is actually a very odd choice .Its called the toastada. Its a hot and cold pizza with beans lettuce salsa ranch & tortilla. Its a must try . The wait stuff here ensure everytime you have an extraordinary experience . They are very very happy to serve extra bread, extra oil, extra salsa and ranch .The try to accomodate your requests to the maximum level .They once just gave me a bowl of Alfredo sauce because I said the garlic creme fettuccine was dry for me . This location is in the food court of garden state plaza mall in jersey. read more

I never actually dyed here, but my husband brought home the take and bake pizza. I didn't think it was gonna turn out good. But it was so easy to make was done within 8 to 10 minutes and it was really really good. The only down part was the middle of the pizza was a bit soggy before going into the oven and that part did not cook well. But I will absolutely do this again. Highly recommended taking bake at home read more

Nice location inside of the Garden State Plaza Mall and, most importantly, solid food. Personally, I had not been to a CPK in probably more than a decade! And with this being our 1st time at the Garden State Plaza Mall location, we very well enjoyed our experience here. For the longest time, we patronized the mall and passed by this CPK 90% of the time. With all of the food options at our disposal inside, we always overlooked it and figured we'd eventually get to it when we went through all of the other yummy restaurants. Tucked not too far from multiple entrances, it now has the unfortunate distinction of being located across from the uber popular Kura Revolving Sushi. However, this clean and cozy CPK still draws quite the crowd, especially on the Sunday morning/early afternoon we dropped in for lunch. We arrived at around 11:30 where it was mostly empty inside, but by 12pm, the restaurant was very busy with mostly families - like us. The menu, as you would have predicted, is centered around personal pizzas - Cali-style. However, the menu is surprisingly much more diverse than just pizza - there are lots of salads to choose from, sophisticated entrees/pastas, soups, a variety of starters and sandwiches. We began our meal with the White Corn Guacamole + Chips, which was very good.....except for the fact that it was quite a small order, on both the chips and guac parts. For $14, the order SHOULD have been at least double the size of what came out. Nevertheless, it was still a good guac and chips appetizer. For our entrees, my wife ordered the Waldorf Chicken Salad, while I got the The Works pizza, which consisted of spicy Italian sausage, rustic pepperoni, Cremini mushrooms, Mozzarella, red onions, green peppers, olives, and wild Greek oregano. And, last, but definitely not least, our kids shared a Kids Mushroom Pepperoni Sausage pizza. Overall, everything was decent. Not mindblowingly amazing, but fairly solid. I can't speak too much to the salad, which my wife enjoyed, but The Works pizza was good and a perfect personal pie size with 6 slices in total. There were plenty of toppings and it tasted good. Couldn't really complain much about it. Our kids kind of struggled through the Kids pizza though. They LOVE pizza, but, for some reason, they weren't huge fans. I even had to eat a slice of their pie, which I thought was pretty good as well. Besides the food, we also ordered a Strawberry Lemonade, which came with unlimited free refills. It definitely was refreshing. Service was solid throughout, albeit a bit on the slower side on this Sunday afternoon, but not much to complain about. read more

California Pizza Kitchen - Receipt - Pizza Near Me - Paramus, New Jersey

This place used to be packed, but when I went here with my daughter, it was relatively empty and it's easy to see why. First, the service was very, very slow, and it was not crowded at all. As for the food, the complementary bread was pretty good. The wedge salad was a little bit sloppy, but the taste was ok. The pizza "The Works" was good, but it was pretty soggy in the middle. The mac & cheese had too little sauce. This used to be a kid favorite, but it would not be hard to make a much better version of this. The food here is on par with the food court, but way more expensive. The private equity company that purchased California pizza kitchen really needs to sit down and try a meal here, because right now it's not worth going to, much less invest in. read more

Went to the mall on a rainy Saturday and wanted to grab lunch. My husband and I decided to go to California pizza kitchen as we have not been in there in a long time. We wanted to split some thing and we didn't want pizza cause we knew we were having pizza for dinner so we decided to sit at the bar and order a salad. The bar was pretty busy. I had a mock tail which was really good and my husband had a beer and we split the salad, which was a great size to split. We ordered the large flavor we felt like was missing something, but it didn't stop us from eating. The whole thing will definitely be back in the near future. read more

A good to place for lunch if you want a good value place to sit. I like their duo combos since you can pair soups, sandwiches, and salads to your liking. I recommend getting 2-4 of different variations and sharing! Today was feeling hungry and opted for more of the main dishes instead. I like pizzas more dough and soft too so the ones I had were perfect for me. The pastas you can usually share between 2 people while feeling full too. read more

I am really not a big fan of chain restaurants, but a family member happens to be an advocate for California Pizza Kitchen because of their gluten-free pizzas, an option that is a necessity for her. So, when we recently decided to meet at the Garden State Plaza for some shopping and dinner, I agreed to give it a shot. I had indulged in their famous Barbecue Chicken Pizza in the past, but it had been quite some time since my last bite. However, I was hoping to find a healthier alternative, so I scanned their menu ahead of time to plan my order. I noticed that they had a Banh Mi Power Bowl under the "Salads" section, and I decided that would be my go-to. We met in front of the restaurant, and we were thrilled to see that they had seats out in the mall, sort of like an indoor patio. We thought a table in that area would be much more interesting than being seated in the dark, indoor dining room. Thankfully, the hostess allowed us to select our table, and we settled in to look at the menu. While our server was very friendly, there were some errors in the execution. For instance, I ordered an unsweetened iced tea, but it never arrived, so I had to ask for it again. Also, it took a very long time for our food to arrive. Thankfully, I had some doughy focaccia bread and seasoned olive oil to enjoy in the meantime. When it finally arrived, my power bowl included quinoa, spinach, grilled chicken, red cabbage, avocado, cucumber, carrot, bean sprouts, scallions, cilantro, mint, and sesame seeds. It was served with a chili-lime vinaigrette and serrano peppers, both politely on the side in small cups. The colorful salad was very good. The chicken was just a touch dry, but, otherwise, each ingredient was super fresh. My family members loved their Barbecue Chicken Pizza on its thin, gluten-free cauliflower crust. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised with the service and execution of our meal at CPK and would consider going back there. However, I also feel that the Garden State Plaza has some better quality food options. read more

I haven't been to a California Pizza Kitchen in many years mainly because the one nearest to my home closed. I was at the Garden State Plaza Mall yesterday with my husband and we wanted to eat lunch. We both decided to try it. We ordered sangria, dynamite shrimp as an appetizer and the thin crust bbq chicken pizza. Everything was absolutely delicious. Our plates were clean by the time we were done. The service was phenomenal. Our waitress Lexi was super friendly and quick with our food. The ambience is rustic but modern. I will definitely return and have already told several family members and friends about our experience. read more

Have dined here before but not often. Last night I was joined by two cousins. We got seated right away around 7:30 on a Thursday evening. We shared the chicken dumplings, steak and pepper pizza, guacamole and chips, and chicken club pizza. Truthfully, I am NOT a pizza person but I enjoyed their pizzas. They were filling, perfectly baked with great toppings. The dumplings were tangy, soft, and tasty with a kick of spice. We thoroughly enjoyed them. The guacamole and chips were the biggest surprise! The guacamole included corn and jalapeños which we all appreciated and enjoyed. We also shared a sangria flight which was just perfect for Our trio! read more

Earlier this week, I was with a party of five from work and we met up to celebrate some birthdays. This was my first time at the CPK in Paramus/Garden State Plaza, and it had been a couple of years since I last went to CPK. It was a good choice to go here, we had a great time! There is a variety of seating areas here. We were seated in one of the booths to the left when you enter. Our waiter brought out bread with dipping oil to the table, as well as some tortilla chips later. Here is what we ordered: * Shrimp * Spinach and Artichoke Dip * 5 Cheese Pizza * BBQ Chicken Pizza * Margherita Pizza * Spicy Chipotle Pizza * Key Lime Pie * Red Velvet Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream This is a legit California Pizza Kitchen location. I swore I wouldn't eat here again after a dinner here three years ago. Everything tasted premade and out of a plastic bag, not like the CPK I remember from Encino California. With that said I was pleasantly surprised! Everything was good and the service superb! I had the cauliflower appetizer, the Thai Crunch salad , and the Wild Mushroom pizza on thin crust! The crust was delicious, however there were very few mushrooms and they were cut so thin you could barely taste them. My son had the pepperoni pizza and wontons... plate cleaned so he liked it! Definitely going back, very solid! read more

We've been to this CPK location multiple times, and I really wanted to shout out our waiter Josh! We've been lucky to have him every time we are there, and he makes the dining experience such a pleasure. Expect to wait for a bit; this location is popular since it is right in the center of Garden State Plaza. For being a pizza-centered restaurant, most of them are average at best. Whatever "meat" they used for their bulgogi pizzas is not authentically bulgogi. We enjoy their appetizers and options of pasta way more. If you come to this location, make sure to request Josh for a great time! read more

We stopped in for dinner while shopping at the mall. We shared the new Crispy Chinese Dumpling Salad. A lot of great flavor. The dumplings were nice and crispy. We both felt it could have had a little more dressing. Definitely would order it again. For the main course my better half ordered the Chicken Tequila Fettuccine. She really enjoyed her dish, she shared some with me and I thought it was great. I ordered the Chicken Piccata, the chicken was excellently cooked in mine and had good flavor. We shared mine too. We both decided hers was a better meal. Service was good, our waitress was nice and checked on us frequently. The manager stopped by and asked if everything was good. The wait time wasn't too bad considering we got there around 7 on a Saturday night. The restaurant is set up nice and we were seated in a booth. Lighting was easy on my eyes , the only negative thing was the restaurant was loud. We prefer a quieter setting so we can talk. We will definitely be going back read more

Loved the vibe of this restaurant. While you wait for the order you can watch the chefs making pizza or pasta. There is something about open kitchens as you get to see what's cooking at the restaurant is fresh. We ordered some Mexican pizza and replaced the chicken with avocado. The crust was so good and the seasoning on it was amazing. We ordered king pao spaghetti- Chinese meets Italian that tasted great too. It was without any meat but still tasted great. We saw a lot of people ordering butter cake for dessert and got tempted to order it. It was yum. We added ice cream to it and was a perfect end to our dinner. read more

Great Lunch Spot! We went to the mall to do some shopping and stopped by CPK for lunch. Everything we ordered was tasteful and satisfying. Bbq chicken chopped salad - favorite cpk salad. The salad ingredients were fresh and the salad had a slight tang to it from the bbq sauce. It was delicious! Wear Coast Burger - I went half-sies with my husband. The burger was juicy and the charcoal taste completed the flavorful burger! It's a good burger. The Works Pizza - out of all three dishes we ordered this was probably my least favorite. It was a good pizza, but nothing special. It was bit salty for my palate, but definitely interested in trying other pizzas! Service seemed a bit rushed, but they were busy. The restaurant was lively. It was a Saturday afternoon at the mall, it was expected. 4 stars! 7/10! read more

Although it took several phone calls and in-person visits to book and confirm a date for my son's pizza-making birthday party, the actual event itself was a lot of fun! Angel did such a a great job making sure that our group of 30 kids and 20 adults were taken good care of. The kids enjoyed making their pizzas, and the parents enjoyed watching the football game by the bar and some delicious pizza. Some even placed an order to take food home for dinner later that evening. Overall, I think having a kids pizza-making birthday party is a unique and fun idea, and an affordable one. read more

Most of their pizzas are on point. However, the 5 cheese weren't my cup of tea. Other than that, I wish they had a little more option then just salads, pizzas, and pasta. Although they want to appear more healthy option, occaisional fried mozzarella or wings can't hurt. Also, I think the menu hasn't had anything new for years. One thing, I can't believe they still call out names instead of taking down number and texting when table is ready. I don't want to stand there for an hour. Let's get with the times! read more

First time at CPK, this location is on the second floor of the Westfield Mall. Was busy with a line of people waiting on a Saturday night but got seated within 20 min. Ordered the avocado club egg rolls which were so good! Crunchy with a savory filling of chicken and bacon. We also got the mushroom pepperoni sausage and california club. I felt like the pizzas were just ok. They were light with a good amount of toppings but lacked flavor. Also thought they'd be better considering the price you pay for a personal-sized pizza. They brought us some house bread which was nice to snack on before our meal. Nice place to go for a chill dinner with friends or family. Service was good and vibe was like that of a mall restaurant. read more

Came here for a birthday happy hour. They have some great deals going on. From 3 to 5 on weekdays you can get a personal pizza and a beer for six dollars. Then during actual happy hour which starts at 4 o'clock, you can get half-priced drinks and starters. Peggy at the bar was wonderful. Learned quite a bit about Indonesia because I was clearly unaware of how awesome it was before today. So I did some Google research right then. I've walked by this CPK many times when coming to this Westfield mall, without actually stopping in, but I will definitely come back after this lovely happy hour experience. read more

The family bundle deal is my favorite! For $55 for a meal for four and it gives you options to upgrade items, which I say take advantage of! We went back to CPK kitchen after a while. Was happy to see they get crazy busy as usual within the first hour of opening. I ordered my usual appetizer the schezuan chicken dumplings. I felt the quality of the dumplings deteriorated, didn't find it at tasty as before. But I tried the lunch combo for the first time, and enjoyed it a lot. The tomato bisque soup was delicious, and complimented well with the bbq chicken pizza, which was medium size, so the portion was just about right, both items combined. Because it was crazy busy, it was difficult to get our servers attention at times, but she her best to accommodate our requests. Overall we had a good meal and will be back at CPK sometime in future. The restaurant is inside of the mall, but doesn't give the mall restaurant vibe. Once inside it feels like a standalone. They let you split a pie in half for an additional $2.50, meaning I order two different pies and they made it while, which I though was ingenious lol. California Pizza @ Garden State Mall ..... A much better location on the 2nd floor next to Neiman Marcus. I always loved their cocktail drink menu, always delightful, and especially the flight of them ~ But, this time, something was off with the food. Either too bland, too salty, or oily. (Or maybe was it our menu that we picked ..... wrong dish??? Haha) Wild mushroom pizza - not enough mushroom this time. The dough was too chewy and stiff. Roasted veggie salad was too bland. Kung pal pasta tasted too much of oyster sauce Lettuce wrap, a delightful appetizer. But, they always give us not enough lettuce !!!! I looked around to see what was happening, and realized that there were 2 in the kitchen, 2 in the hall serving 10 tables, 1 at the bar. There were more empty tables than occupied. With such shortage of staff, no wonder the service did not live up to the expectation. But, again, I will be craving the California pizza kitchen. read more
