My cousin (god we love her) lives in the building next door so for the past 2 years Haven has been her haunt. Now I have a thing when people say "it's just next door" or "it's right down the street." Her bday was this weekend so she booked a large table for family and friends. I was relieved to see they had valet. Parking is atrocious in this development so to only pay $10 to be 10 feet from the door was awesome. The restaurant itself is beautiful and the staff know her well and treated her as a valued guest. Here's the rundown: We went for BRUNCH. They have a prix fixe for $41 of most of the brunch items and it includes 2 Bellini, 2 mimosas, or 2 Bloody Marys. Good right? Welp what you don't know is that their cocktail menu is incredible so to heck with the prix fixe. We got mimosas at home!! Between the 10 of us we got cocktails, appetizers, entrees, desserts, coffee. Highlights: -Service was spectacular. Wesley was On It! By the time we finished eating there was another party of 10+ seated right behind us that he was servicing. I hope he enjoys the reward$ of his hard work! Make it rain on em Wesley! -Fat friendly seating. No arms, solid chairs, comfortable cushions. We were there for 4 hours and my booty was never sore. -Food. We tore it up and it was all delicious. My half of the table had the farm house breakfast sando, the fried chicken sando, French omelette, huevo rancheros. We shared the crab hush puppies, wings, calamari, goat cheese salad, and blueberry pancakes. I was nosey and saw that some of my other table mates ordered the skirt steak and eggs and the short rib. -Drinks. I know my husband loves mango so I suggested he get the smoked mango drink. I didn't know it came with theatrics. Dinner and a show?! Btw by the time our table was done almost everyone had ordered one. Lychee martini, Paloma, old fashioned, midnight espresso. Also all very good! -The View. Our party was too large to sit outside but we did sit right at the floor to ceiling windows. In between birthday wishes and food comas we watched the boats, jet skis, and undulating waves of the Hudson. Previous posters are correct - the place is pricey. I had a lovely birthday lunch, sitting on Haven's covered outdoor patio. It has the perfect ambiance, and the view of NYC is beautiful. The braised short ribs were fork-tender and delicious! The burger was a sizable portion and served with perfectly cooked fries. In addition to a variety of cocktails, beer, and wine, they offer thoughtfully crafted mocktails. The indoor dining room is also very classy, but I was most impressed with the cloth hand towels and hand lotion in their restroom. For outdoor seating, I would recommend making a reservation. I came for Mother's Day. Normally we go out in Saturday due to the Mother's Day crowd, but yo my surprise though it was packed I'm glad they gave mercy on us for being 30min late. Either they were running behind or just held our resy. Either way traffic from nyc to nj was horrible. 1/4 of our party was there on time to hold the resy. By the time they texted us the table was ready we were just pulling up to valet around 7pm. The service was quick or waiter was super friendly. We had the Mother's Day prefix menu. We had the shrimp firecracker which was really good and mother had calamari which had a really nice presentation. We all had steaks which were all good. As for sides I feel like they fell short on the crab fried rice. Not much crab and the rice was Al dente and not much flavor. I should've gone with the Mac n cheese or mashed potatoes (those were good). Desert we had cheesecake and the brownie. Both were great no complaints. The best part of the his place was the waterfront views especially at night. Fidel and his team made tonight's dinner unforgettable!! Haven is located in a corner area of Edgewater with breathtaking views of NYC. When you arrive, they have $10 valet- super convenient since it's in an area with barely any parking. The restaurant is beautiful and has a great vibe, they played some of my favorite songs but in the instrumental version and it was lovely. I originally requested a seat with a view, since we were joined by out of towners from Toronto. They did a decent job at accommodating my request, especially since the restaurant was busy. For appetizers we tried the oyster sampler and it was fresh and delicious. We also got the octopus, which was cooked perfectly (a pet peeve of mine) and came with a nice mixed salad. I ordered the lobster pasta, which could've used some more seasoning, but still good nonetheless. My date got the ribeye, which he raved about. He also added the loaded mashed as a side and enjoyed it. Our out of town guest went with the branzino and side of lobster Mac and cheese, which she took home for lunch the next day. For dessert we tried the crème brûlée and paired it with espressos for half the table. A very fresh dessert and not too sweet of a bite. I tried the espresso martini, which wasn't my favorite but I still finished it lol A bottle of white wine, four cocktails (including the espresso), two appetizers, four meals, and two sides ran us a little over $500 without tip. 3.5 stars HAVEN had been holding a special place in my "must try" list, sat aside for an important occasion or celebration. It was such a fancy, stunning place worthy of only such an event. However, since the weather was going to be absolutely perfect for an outdoor dinner, I recently wound up enjoying a regular evening there with great friends. When we arrived, we noticed that there were options to either utilize the valet or to find a spot in the crowded parking lot. We had taken a rideshare service, but that was a good note to keep in mind for future visits. We stepped inside and immediately encountered the host stand, with an upscale bar and lounge to one side and a sprawling dining room with views of the Hudson River to the other side. Just beyond the indoor dining area was an outdoor patio, which was what I had reserved. It should be noted that if you reserve "outdoor" seating, you will be on the restaurant-level, covered patio; however, they also had a few tables that were several steps down and directly on the river walkway, which were uncovered and used for walk-ins. Our table was spacious, quiet, and offered incredible views. We ordered some cocktails, and I started with the Forbidden Garden; I had expected the mix of Cazadores Blanco Tequila, muddled mint, fresh lime juice, kiwi ginger syrup, and club soda to be like a refreshing mojito. Unfortunately, there was way too much syrup included, so the drink was incredibly sweet. I also only really tasted the kiwi. I heard that the Atypical Pornstar and Mango Fire & Smoke beverages were similarly sugar-laden, but HAVEN's house Old Fashioned received rave reviews. After hearing these comments, I decided to transition to wine for my second round. I asked our server for the wine-by-the-glass list, which was not in the same book with the beers and cocktails. Instead of running back inside to grab it, he just asked what type of wine I was looking for. I found that a bit strange, especially for someone like myself that preferred to see which regions and wineries were sourcing the varietals, but I just went along with his laziness and requested a prosecco. The flute of Valdo Prosecco from Veneto, Italy was much more enjoyable and well-balanced than my former cocktail. It was the perfect crisp, refreshing sip I had been craving for the warm evening. I did notice when I later looked at the website menu that they also had rosé cava, Moscato, and brut as sparkling options that I had been unaware of thanks to the server. Since I enjoyed the prosecco and the staff otherwise, it was not a big deal, but seems worth mentioning. While we got acquainted with our booze, a front-of-house member came by and offered us each a slice of bread, which was essentially a small piece of challah that had been toasted. The great things about that type of bread are its sweetness and its softness, but those slices were just dry. We skipped appetizers, and I selected the Char-Grill Branzino as my entrée. The two large filets were a bit overcooked and really needed some salt and other seasoning. The fish was plated with an unseasonal chayote squash and parsnip slaw, as well as a parsnip puree and a citrus hazelnut gremolata. I found it odd that those fall/winter ingredients were being used as near summer accoutrements. I was also surprised that the parsnip items were so bland that I did not pick up on the signature taste of that root vegetable, which I loved, but could be an acquired taste for others. Baby bok choy was also included, but one of my bites of the crisp greens included something grainy and crunchy, which was disturbing. It was potentially a piece of the hazelnut in the pesto, but was disconcerting at the time. Lastly, pickled pearl onions were sprinkled over the dish to add some acidity. While I felt marginally satisfied with my main course, I heard great things about the Wood-Grilled, 14-ounce New York Strip Steak and the Natural Sea Salt French Fries. I happened to grab a few of those fried potatoes and really enjoyed them. Plus, those were at least salted. We were rather full after the meal, but decided to order dessert. I sampled the Warm Brioche Bread Pudding, which was incredible! However, I did not see any connection between the dish I enjoyed and the description on the menu, which referenced "vanilla gelato, melted Valrhona chocolate, banana, braised apple, compressed cranberry, Kentucky bourbon sauce". What I tasted basically appeared to be a cinnamon coffee cake with a ribbon of cinnamon inside it and a generous amount of crunchy crumb on top of it. The cake was served in a bowl with some of the best vanilla gelato I had ever had and a custard-like sauce. So, yeah, it did not match my expectation, but it was heavenly! HAVEN's modern culinary creativity and stunning views made for a nice evening. However, I felt that there were some execution issues that could have been improved. read more

Beautiful view of the city over the Hudson. We ordered the Mexican Spring Rolls, French omelette and blueberry pancakes. The spring rolls came out cold, but we were ravenous so we ate them anyway. My wife's eggs were good and my pancakes were delicious. Skip the coffee, it's quite bitter. Also, parking is $10 unless you find your own spot. We had a few different drinks and all were tasty, iced latte was great as well! The food was really yummy as well I would say overall the appetizers were better than entrées. Rock shrimp was fantastic- 10/10! The lobster risotto balls were also yummy but didn't get too much lobster. For the entrees, portions were generous and we each enjoyed the different food. We also appreciated that the menu included brunch and more lunch style food. Service was friendly and helpful. We came here for a birthday, and had a pretty good experience overall. As we entered, we were greeted early for our reservation and offered space in the lounge to spend the last hour of happy hour. For small bites, we had truffle fries and spicy tuna/crispy rice bites--both quite good. After making our way to our table, we ordered an assortment of oysters, all with great flavor and texture quality with flavorful mignonettes--including what tasted like a yuzu-pineapple combination that added another dimension to the flavor of the oysters. After these, we got our entrees: kids' chicken and tenders, seafood risotto and roasted lamb shank. In my opinion, the latter most was the best of the bunch, with earthy, rich flavors and fantastic texture. The chicken tenders and fries were good--standard, but good--and the seafood risotto was fairly underwhelming. It appeared more akin to a black rice with broth rather than a true risotto, which was fairly disappointing. That's what really gives it a "three-star" position in my mind, in spite of the great lamb shank. The service and ambiance were very serviceable as well. The place is next to a walking route by the Hudson River so after or before your meal you can stroll by there and enjoy the view of NYC as well as the water. I ordered the salmon without everything they add only mushrooms and by far the best cooked salmon I've ever had; I'm 44 so I've had plenty. My friend ordered the duck and had the rest of what she didn't eat the next day for leftovers; she enjoyed it too. We were both happy with the quality of the food. The service was great. We didn't wait too long for waiters to be around for anything we might of needed. We were both happy with that too. If I have to say anything bad at all is that in the bathroom it would be a good idea to have something to dry our hands with. I saw towels but nowhere to place them once we use them. They have a no smoking policy for the outdoor seating area which is great for people allergic to smoke. Valet parking is $10 as of this review. They also have garage parking. Overall 5 stars. We found a restaurant off the Hudson that had a killer view of the July 4th fireworks. Not only was the food impressive the service was also amazing. The skirt steak was perfect and so flavorful. The oysters were delicious and loved the variety. Lamb shank cooked perfectly, and the watermelon and feta salad went well with the items and humidity. Ended the meal with chocolate mousse, and cheesecake both made in house. Wouldn't mind coming back here in the future and a non holiday weekend. read more
