Dips and Horiatiki Salad
Julia M.

Came here for restaurant week dinner! Interior is beautiful and very spacious. Our service was excellent. We got the dip trio which was actually the weakest part of the meal imo. Tzatziki was really good but other than that the spicy feta and the hummus were just ok. I wish the hummus was more flavorful and the spicy feta had a taste besides just being spicy. The pita was nice and warm. The Greek salad was refreshing and had good quality feta. My favorite part of the meal was the lavraki, which was perfectly cooked and very flavorful. The potatoes and greens were a nice accompaniment and i actually took about half of the dish home because i was already getting full! My friend said the short rib was good, but not the best he's had. Got the baklava rolls for dessert, and the rolls themselves were good but we weren't a fan of the ice cream flavor.

Able to get seated quickly without a reservation on a Sunday afternoon. The weight staff was very attentive. The food was really tasty. The sauce of the calamari was average. The whipped part of the beet salad was great. The fillet was very crispy and tender with great flavor. The calamari was soft and interesting base underneath it. The strawberry ginger lemonade was okay. Overall would revisit and a good experience. The ambience was open and welcoming.

The Food, Service & Ambiance transforms you into a time capsule back in Greece, near the Aegean Sea bluest waters, enjoying a Sauvignon Blanc, Assyrtiko: A Greek white wine, especially from Santorini, is a top choice. In Life, you get what you pay for...every masterful dish guarantees an unconditional love of your palate. Encouraging you to crave for more, because it's the chef's hidden secret and treasure that he loves to serve you.

Everything we ordered was delicious! Started with the grilled pita and spreads. They were all yummy. We liked the spicy roasted pepper spread the best. We also ordered the Elea chips. So good and light. I would order this again. We ordered entrees. The lamb was tender and delicious! A beautiful restaurant with excellent and friendly service. They made us feel so welcomed.

Gigantes ($16)

Absolute fab experience. Reservations recommended on weekends, plenty of seating outdoors and indoors with a spacious basement perfect for family seating. Vegetarians also have plenty of options which was surprising! What to order: Tasting of 5 Spreads ($32) - Skordalia stands out, Grilled Halloumi ($18), Gigantes ($16), Asparagus ($12) - all cooked to perfection! Non Vegetarians won't go wrong with Lamb Chops ($55) or Grilled Shrimp ($25). Service was absolutely fantastic but our server Arthur was friendly and attentive. Very welcoming and friendly staff. We will be visiting again with friends and family!

Great food, great service, great atmosphere. All the dishes were good, very light flavors that complimented each other well. Service was amazing and they even comped our dessert as it was our anniversary. Would highly recommend

Came here with friends after seeing Mission Impossible-The Final Reckoning at IMAX Lincoln Square. Overall it was a great experience. They have sidewalk dining for the summer, an upstairs and a downstairs. We sat downstairs as it felt more private, although it was packed. Our waitress Marsha was very patient, although if we had not been as firm as we were, I think we would have been rushed out. For example, most restaurants want to take your entree order along with your appetizers. We waited as we ordered 5 appetizers and a bottle of wine and wanted to digest our food. After a little over 2 hours Marsha put the check down on the table although we had not finished our desert. That was the only negative part of the entire experience. The restaurant is a well decorated space, its very clean, including the bathrooms which are private. The staff was polite and accommodating. The manager came over midway through the dinner to see how everything was. Everything we ordered was great! It was fresh, served at the right temperature, was flavorful and had a different spin on it from other Mediterranean restaurants I have been to. There were four of us and for starters we shared a bottle of Sancerre, the Tuna Tartare, Horiatiki Salad, the Selection of Spreads, Elea zucchini & eggplant chips, the Grilled Shrimp and the Htapodi which was grilled Spanish octopus. For entrees we had the Lavraki which is usually served as the whole fish. We asked for it to be filleted, the Solomos-salmon, Bakaliaros-pan seared wild cod and the pasta special. For desert we had assorted teas, the Portokalopita- orange cake with yogurt ice cream and the Mini Baklava Rolls. I would highly recommend Elea and hope that I will not be rushed if I come back again.

Grilled Halloumi

Had a first class experience here eating at Eléa for restaurant week. When I made the reservation, I requested outdoor seating and was granted the request. They have those booths where you can enjoy your dining experience. Although many restaurants are removing them now in a post-COVID world, it's sometimes fun to experience it. As for the food, plenty to choose from, especially for vegetarians. For the appetizers, we split 2 Grilled Halloumi's & a Pikilia between the 3 of us. I love myself some Halloumi and was quite impressed with the serving size. Almost filled myself up with that and the dips. As for the drinks, the Smoke & Fire was ON POINT. I'm a fan of a great spicy cocktail and this hit the spot. For the main meal, I ordered the mushroom risotto. The crazy thing is that the portions were HUGE. I ate a little bit and quickly realized I had no more room for any food, largely because of the Halloumi. Fortunately, we packed up all the leftovers. The risotto actually lasted me 2 lunches. Very hearty and tasty. As for the desserts, we ordered one of each. The sorbets were great. We packed up the baklava and ate a portion of the lemon tart. Honestly, for $60/person, this is actually a damn good value because of the amount of food you receive.

Elea is a Mediterranean gem on the Upper West Side! The decor is super cute, stylish and inviting with a warm, coastal feel that makes you feel like you're on vacation. The service was attentive and friendly without being overbearing, which made the whole experience even better! We ordered a bunch of small plates to share, and honestly, everything was delicious. One of my favorites were the fried zucchini and eggplant "chips." They were perfectly crisp and flavorful, and I loved the dipping sauce. The sea bass for my main was great, but I also really liked the chicken thigh skewers, which were juicy and seasoned to perfection, also came with a different but delicious dipping sauce. There's such a great variety on the menu, it's ideal for sharing and trying a little of everything. We can't wait to come back!

Beautiful restaurant with exquisite food. The friend calamari started was cooked to perfection and included a large portion. The service is wonderful, kind and knowledgeable staff that have excellent suggestions.

Food was overall pretty good. Definitely some hits and misses. For the dips we had the taramousalata, hummus, fava bean, tzatziki, and spicy red pepper feta dip. The hummus was Smokey and absolutely delicious. The fava bean was my least favorite. The spicy red pepper one was too runny. And the tzatziki was average. I didn't try the last one. The cauliflower fritters were good overall but the texture was a little off. The Brussel sprout salad was like coleslaw and also too acidic. The spanakopita was absolutely delicious. The short rib was not that tender. The orzo rice with it was good. And the lamb chop was one of the best lamb chops I've ever had. The baklava was also one of the best baklava I've ever had. Greek wines were delicious. Service was pretty good. The restaurant has a basement and is pretty spacious. Would definitely recommend making a reservation.

Dinner at Eléa and it did not disappoint. The food? Incredible. Fresh, flavorful, and beautifully plated. The service? Spot-on. It's a place where you can slow down, enjoy the energy of NYC, and eat like you're somewhere along the Aegean coast. That said, I'm giving it 4 stars, not because of the food or service, but because the prices are just a bit steeper than they need to be. You're definitely paying for the ambiance and experience, which is fine, but it's something to keep in mind.

Each course was not only beautifully executed but deeply flavorful and thoughtfully composed. The Mushroom Cappuccino was a perfect start rich, earthy, and comforting with incredible depth. The sweet potato with madeira reduction was a standout, balancing sweetness and richness with elegance. Le Royale was indulgent and refined, while the blue prawns were cooked to perfection delicate and bursting with flavor. Le Tropical brought a bright, refreshing contrast that tied the progression of the meal together beautifully. Even the bread service deserves recognition often overlooked, but here it was exceptional. Paired with the Winter Harvest Highball and the No. 3, the beverage program matched the food in both creativity and execution. What truly elevated the evening was having the pleasure of meeting Chef Christophe and touring the kitchen. He was incredibly down to earth, and his philosophy about food thoughtful, intentional, and rooted in passion clearly shines through in every dish. Every bite was delicious, every detail intentional. Two diners opted for the wine pairings, while the others enjoyed cocktails and additional glasses of wine, all thoughtfully matched to the dishes. The evening was spectacular from start to finish, with no weak courses. Standouts included the sashimi, frogs' legs, scallops, beef cap, and squab, each beautifully prepared and memorable. With tip, the total came to about $1,800 for four, which we felt was good value for the quality, service, and overall experience. Surprisingly, most guests were dressed business casual, so the atmosphere felt relaxed rather than stuffy.

Fajitas Nortenas (4/5): The steak could have been more tender, but the flavor was great--especially when paired with their excellent corn tortillas. The Chocolate Molten wasn't overly sweet, and the Strawberry Flan featured rhubarb that paired perfectly with the custard. A great spot for a high-end seafood dinner, though the drinks didn't quite live up to the food.
