A friend of the Mommy's recommended this restaurant, and "she's a real foodie, so it will be good." And it WAS!! It's a narrow, long space, charmingly and simply decorated, with art on the walls. We were seated in the window. Our server was WONDERFUL! Attentive, friendly, and informative. We shared a salad to start, and I had the Greek sausage as well. The Mommy had salmon as her entree, and I had the chicken kebab. This was my favorite kind of menu--a few items, perfectly prepared. There's something for everyone! Portions were very generous! We finished the salad, but could not finish our entrees. Or the sausage. There's a small, well-curated wine list. The food was absolutely DELICIOUS. Flavorful and perfectly cooked. Our server surprised us with a dessert! It was puff pastry with a creamy, sweet white custard. I decided that it was worth puffy allergy face. I couldn't easily separate the pastry from the custard. It was yummy! This was a lovely dining experience, and I look forward to returning.

Definitely need to make a reservation if you're planning to go as it's a tight spot. They gave us a free dessert as well. I really like the calamari and fish here. There was a good energy

We've been ordering takeout from Tino's since the restaurant is so small and we cannot take our baby stroller in. We will wait until our baby is old enough to go back to dine in. Despite we ordered takeout, the hospitality and quality of food is still top notch! I love their soft shell crabs special right now! And we ordered a bunch of sides to share. Such as the fried calamari, octopus (which is hubbys fav!) and gigantes. To top off they also give us their delicious dessert to go! Which we love! Tino's is such a neighborhood gem.

Tinos is a cute Greek restaurant in the UES. I stopped by at a friend's recommendation and wish I knew about them earlier!! They ran out of octopus so we got the calamari instead. Even though I prefer smaller pieces, their larger calamari was super tender and juicy. Each piece was nicely fried with a crisp and light batter. The complimentary pita and hummus were solid and well seasoned. The marouli salad featured really fresh romaine lettuce, covered with just the right amount of olive oil and vinegarette. Great ratio of scallion, dill, and feta cheese! For mains, I got to try their branzino and dorado. Both were tasty and well seasoned with capers and lemon flavors. Fish were tender and not overcooked. They gave us free dessert and it reminded me of a napoleon dessert with cream and crunchy pastry. Loved how it wasnt too sweet. My partner and I devoured it no time! Staff were nice and attentive, but a little slower towards the end. I think the restaurant is run by a father son duo. Good amount of seating inside with minimalist decor and dim intimate lighting! I look forward to coming back when I'm craving Greek food!

Had a great dinner here! I would definitely recommend reservations as it's pretty busy during dinner. The dishes were all spectacular but some of my favorites were the octopus, gigantes, and the assortment of dips. The inside is pretty tight-fit, resulting in a cozy atmosphere. Definitely will be my go-to Greek spot around here.

The place is a little crowded with seats close together. I would recommend to make a reservation. I really like the ribeye steak and felt like it was good quality for the price especially because it came with complementary pita bread and a dip plus a flaky dessert. We also ordered the rice stuffed grape leaves which I thought were pretty normal but very solid.

After just discovering Tino's and loving, not only the host, who might be the owner, but the warm friendly atmosphere and the exceptional Greek food, I was shocked that anyone could write a negative review about this jewel of a restaurant! We walked about thirty blocks to come here for our 6pm reservation and within minutes, every table was occupied in their small but charming dining area. While you might get lucky and get a table without a reservation, I'd certainly recommend having oee on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday evening.

This is such a Gem! Perhaps my new favorite Greek place in all of New York. I came here on a weekday night for late dinner (8pm) and was able to snag a table for 2 without any reservations which was great! - Complimentary Pita with Baba Ganoush - I love how the eggplants in the baba ganoush was more thick cut so the "sauce" was more chunky. Also the naan, even when it turned cold, was still perfectly soft. - Avgolemo - This is my first time trying a cream-based soup with a lemony aftertaste. I was really surprised by the flavors of this broth and wish there was just a bit more orzo or chicken. - Dolmades - I usually don't like dolmades that much but this one was delicious. The rice was super succulent without being very overwhelming as one of my biggest complaint of this dish is that it often just tastes like you're eating a lot of carbs. - Arni Souvlaki - The lamb and beef kebab were very tender while the rice was very flavorful. I also really enjoyed the tzajiki sauce as it wasn't too heavy. I think this is one of the most well-done souvlaki's I've had in the city. - Saganaki - This is one of the best things I haven't eaten in a long time. The cheese block was not overly cheese-y and even when it turned cold from us sitting and talking for so long, it was still delicious as it didn't get too oily even though it was fried. - Complimentary Dessert - I was so surprised when they pulled this powdered sugar, cream, mixed with cracker concoction out for free? I really have never experienced getting a complimentary dessert at any New York restaurant before unless its at a Michelin-starred place. The dessert was light and airy and I appreciate the mixture of textures there were in the dish. Overall, such a fantastic restaurant in the UES. I can't believe I hadn't discovered this place earlier! I will definitely be back. Also the owners were so kind and friendly to us!

What a wonderful and flavorful lunch. The steak was seasoned to perfection. A tad fatty but yummy and I took the scraps for the pups . Loved the pita and dessert to boot. And the service was exemplary.

I can't believe it, but this is my 1000th review! This was such a cute family owned, neighborhood Greek restaurant. There was a lovely cozy atmosphere. All the food was absolutely delicious and there was so much of it! We started off with pita, which came with 4 different dips. Each one tasted fresh and flavorful. I enjoyed the garlicky one and the eggplant based one. The pita was also very good... Soft and pillowy. The Greek salad consisted of tomatoes, cucumbers, green pepper, red onion, olives (which I didn't eat), pieces of feta, and lots of bold spices, along with olive oil. Veggies were crunchy and juicy, while the feta was nicely creamy. Fried calamari was delightfully crispy and well seasoned. There was also grilled octopus bites on top of hummus with red pepper, onion, cilantro in a slightly salty (in a good way), savory sauce. I usually don't eat much octopus, but surprisingly found myself coming back for more of this dish. One of my favorites of the evening was Fried Saganaki Cheese, which was smooth, mouthwateringly melty, with intense flavor. The cheese came with a plate drizzled with vinegar and lemon on the side, adding extra layers of yumminess. Then came Ground Lamb and Beef patties, which were simply prepared, lightly charred, hearty, and tasted wonderful. As for seafood, there was whole Branzino (served butterflied with the head still on the plate), as well as Salmon. I preferred the salmon, which was juicy, tender, flaky, full of rich seasoning. The Branzino also had a lot of spices, but was marinated in a caper sauce, which I wasn't such a fan of. Still, I could tell the fish was quite fresh and cooked expertly. In terms of starches, we were served Lemon Potatoes and Leek Rice Pilaf. The potatoes were perfectly cooked to just the right consistency. Rice was also really good with carrots and tons of seasoning. Dessert was Galaktoboureko made with phyllo dough, custard filling and covered with a dusting of powdered sugar, accompanied by Greek coffee. The phyllo dough part was crunchy, slightly sweet and paired perfectly with the velvety smooth, indulgent custard. The coffee was authentic and strong, oh so luscious, and didn't need any additions. Service was top notch. The servers were attentive and we always had new food being served. I would definitely return to try the Lamb Chops or Pork Chops with Greek Fries and the Baklava of course.

I don't have Greek food that often, but this place was amazing. The salad and spanakopita were the highlights of my meal. I loved how caring the servers were. Make sure to leave room for dessert since they serve it to you no matter what. It was a delicious sweet pastry and cream that could easily be shared amongst the table.

The octopus is great, but the portion is small, with most of the dish being mashed potatoes. The lamb chops have flavorful seasonings but are slightly too dry.

The food was exceptional. The garlic dip that we had with pita was very good. The lamb chops were very flavorful and cooked to exactly the right temperature. The shrimp were very good as well. We had the sangria pitcher which was priced well and tasted well. Service was very attentive and the location could not be beat.

Is there a bar to sit at and have a cocktail while I wait for others in the party to arrive for dinner?

No Tinos does not have a bar, it is a railroad style restaurant and not big at all, with tables nestled very close to each other. However the food is spectacular!

    Is Tino's still BYOB?

No. They have a liquor license and serve at least wine.

Unsurprisingly, there was a long line to put down our names on that gloriously warm and sunny spring evening. We were told the wait time was 1-1.5 hours which honestly went by so fast because there are so many fun places around the area. We got our table at around 8pm in the restaurant area right across the street. I can definitely see the timeless appeal of this place-- the vibes are so fun, the energy is young and vibrant, lights are dim, the music is loud, the smell of sizzling grilled meats and fries fills the space -- all of this hidden behind the facade of a printshop in Chinatown. It's a one-of-a-kind place. The food was pretty good and reasonably priced. We shared: - bottle of orange wine: very generously priced which we easily split amongst us 4. The wine was bright, refreshing and had a lot of body. - dips: we ordered the tzaitziki and the fava bean dip. They accidentally gave us the tirokafteri (or spicy feta) initially which was ironically my favorite dip out of the ones we tried, with the perfect creamy and spicy balance. The tzaitziki was also delicious, refreshing, and cool. The fava bean dip eventually came and it was a bit flat in flavor and texture compared to the other two. It tasted like blended fava beans with some capers on top and no other flavor elements. It was also a bit dry and I was expecting a texture more similar to hummus. The dips came with very delicious pita/regular bread and we also asked for cucumber slices for our gluten free friend (didn't know this was an option but cool!). - octopus: pretty small portion for 4 people but amazing! The octopus was super tender and flavorful. Considering how busy this place is, I was surprised at how well made this was. They have the dish mastered. Highly recommend! Would order again. - gigante beans: tomato bean stew, pretty good and filling! Good to share if you want something a bit more hearty and warm. Also gluten free! Perfect for colder months. - saganaki: I think I would come back exclusively for this alone. It's the perfect dish: the salty and melty cheese is packed inside layers of crispy, flaky, buttery phyllo, with sweet honey on top. This had the perfect balance of flavors and textures. I would order one for myself next time. Definitely a crowd favorite. - mixed grill: the menu said this was for 3 but it was actually a very generous portion for us 4. Delicious meats: it had lamb chops, some chicken and pork souvlaki, Greek sausage, and ground beef patties, all over a bed of well seasoned fries and pita. Truly a stellar dish. Perfect to share and super satisfying. - desserts: we tried the baklava and cheesecake. The baklava came completely without structure and was not that good (too heavy on the cinnamon for my taste and not enough filling), however the cheesecake was rich and creamy with a tangy flavor that perfectly balanced the sweet strawberries and delicious crust! Very well made. My major critique is that the service was quite disappointing. I felt like our waitress was not very kind/ helpful/ was annoyed at us perpetually for no good reason. Additionally, items in our order were messed up or came out too late (which is usually acceptable because we all make mistakes but flagging down anyone for help was virtually impossible). Ultimately, I would probably come again with a group of young people because the food was so good and affordable. The vibe is also pretty unique. However, Kiki's could certainly benefit from polishing its service a bit/ hiring more staff so there is enough attention to customers. While they understandably manage tremendous volumes of people, especially over weekends, that should not come at the expense of the customer experience.
