We went back to Haven after a year to celebrate our anniversary. The restaurant is by the river, has midtown view from its dining area. This time we got some new items. Shrimp firecrackers that were okay, the outer layer seemed stale. The scallops were nice but the potatoes and the blanc sauce wasn't tasteful to me. For entree got the sea bass, that to my surprise was served with noodles and miso broth, making it a ramen bowl. The fish was cooked really nice, runny eggs were delightful, but the ramen bowl wasn't an upscale dish to me. Finally we also got the steak skirt which wasn't tasty at all. The service is still a problem here, hard to get hold of them during the dine-in. Other than nice NYC view this place doesn't offer anything worthwhile for me. read more

She's a standout, and we know because we dine out often. The food? Top-notch. The Haven Burger was cooked to perfection, and the octopus was tender and flavorful--hard to find octopus that isn't chewy! This is an exceptional restaurant that checks all boxes: magnificent view and ambience, delicious food, good presentation, great service and servers. There was nothing to criticize. First you see beautiful flowers and gardens as you're comfortably seated Drinks come promptly. No problem getting a Bellini. Raw oysters, grilled shrimp, pasta, salad all great. My garlicky shrimp salad was quite huge and had many tasty things including radishes, and watermelon. We were too full for dessert, but the Birthday Girl got A complementary cheese cake which was also excellent. Not as pricey as I was expecting. Parking would have been a problem, but they had valet parking for $10. If you're into people watching there were some very glamorous diners. What a place to be! Haven had all the fancy, upscale brunch vibes. A pretty poppin restaurant in Edgewater with a great view of the city skyline across the water. We found parking on a street nearby but we also noticed a garage with some free (2 hour?) spaces on the first floor close by. The staff is polite, proper, and very well trained Expensive but standard for the area honestly & still a tasty meal. We opted for their pre fixe brunch menu that comes with an entree and 2 drinks (choose from Mimosa, Bellini, Bloody Mary) for $39 pp. Speaking of drinks -- they were STRONG. We ordered two rounds of 2 mimosas and 2 bellinis but noted each one looked different than the other. This is definitely the type of brunch place that could send me to another planet if I tried. As for the shrimp cocktail, only three shrimp came with it. For $22, you'd think we could at least get enough shrimp to cover the rim of the glass! Shrimp cocktail app was good but definitely too small of a portion for a pretty penny. The cocktail sauce was good - remember to drench your shrimp in it if you get it! Now onto the HITS, the truffle mac and cheese (without bacon) was amazing! So amazing that we had to get another order of it for the table. Again, the portion was very small but the flavor was everything. There was pecorino, truffle oil, and mushrooms -- all the things! Of course, these flavors tied together perfectly well. The entire table was impressed and we all collectively wished it was a bigger plate. DEFINITELY recommend this dish, they absolutely nailed it! I am a serial huevos rancheros orderer so of course, I had to get the casserole huevos rancheros (without chorizo) and was just thrilled with the plating and taste of my dish. The green salsa Fresca was zesty & flavorful and complemented the eggs nicely. The salad and pico was a delight & everything came together perfectly. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal!! Left no crumbs. Would recommend the dish to anyone. Steak and eggs were good -- we noticed that they already cut the steak into pieces, made it easy to eat! The eggs Benedict were also a hit and the farm house breakfast sandwich was very filling. The famous breakfast potatoes served as sides were so crispy and seasoned nicely, tasted great & I would honestly go for a full side of the potatoes next time! This restaurant was a delight. A bit on the pricier side but the views and vibes are there! Ooh. I attended a bridal shower here. It seemed to me that everyone had a fantastic time. The staff was super attentive, including the hostess at the front door who greeted us with a smile and offered to take our coats. I enjoyed a spicy margarita. Delicious. Our food was good, I wish it had been as great as the views though. I got a seafood pasta dish and my friend got a steak with a side of Mac & cheese. My mom ordered seafood risotto and could not stop ranting about how it was made with black rice. I ordered two spicy margaritas and they were made exactly how I like 'em, strong and spicy. We attended a beautiful wedding brunch at this venue on 5/23/25 and decided to continue celebrating by ordering drinks at the bar (our group of three). To our surprise, we were told we couldn't be served alcohol--even though two other wedding guests, seated just down the bar, were drinking with no issue. There was no clear explanation, and most of us had barely had anything to drink (I had only one). It seemed assumptions were made based on one guest who had generously purchased drinks for others. The situation was handled publicly and unprofessionally by the bartender, which made it very uncomfortable. When we spoke with the manager, Greg, his response was dismissive and unhelpful. By then, we no longer felt welcome. I don't want to believe that in 2025 race still plays a role in how people are judged--but it's hard to ignore the fact that the three of us are of mixed race, while the others being served were not. What started as a joyful celebration ended on a disappointing and disheartening note due to the lack of courtesy, professionalism, and possibly something deeper. read more

Made a same day reservation to come to Haven riverfront and there were plenty of openings. The restaurant is conveniently located in a plaza along river road in Edgewater. There is a free parking garage near by or you can also park on the inner streets of the plaza. The restaurant is fairly fancy, very spacious, well decorated. There are a lot of indoor as well as outdoor seatings where you are overlooking NYC/the Hudson and it is a very nice environment to dine in. Our server came pretty quickly and took our orders without any issues. But the food took quite a long time to come out. Not sure if this is the style of the restaurant or it was just extra busy on a weekend. They also missed one of our orders, and considering how long it took to make our food, I was not expecting mistakes. Either way, food was quite good, nothing exceptional, but right on par with your upscale American dining. We got the duck and steak as main entrees and also got a bunch of appetizers. The truffle mac and cheese was very yummy and tuna tacos had an asian twist to them, which tasted pretty good. The fried potato slices had a unique spice on them, probably my favorite dish out of everything on this day. The steak was medium rare, tasted pretty good. Presentation of the duck was colorful and pretty, tasted nice too. Desserts were a lot bigger than expected and somewhat heavier on the taste than I would have preferred, but I'm sure those who prefer their desserts very sweet would love it. Price-wise, fairly reasonable I think, we spent over $200 for 4 people, which was expected. Overall this was an enjoyable dinner, would come back again when looking for a restaurant with good quality food and a nice view! read more

It wasn't crowded when we went and the music/vibe was perfect and lowkey. I just thought it created the most beautiful atmosphere to have a great meal. The food was unreal. I usually don't boast about how good seafood is, but it was so well done here. For apps, from the Prix fix menu we got the firecracker shrimp & char grilled wakame octopus. Both were amazing. They each had their own stellar sauce. And it was a pretty well sized portion too. (Side note: We also got bread & butter. I wish we had more of it because the bread was to die for, I loved it!) For our mains, I got the seafood risotto & my partner got the lobster pappardelle. Also for a side or the crab fried rice. I absolutely loved my risotto, it was filled with rich flavors. And my partners dish was amazing too! Loved the crab fried rice also. For desert, we got the desert tasting for 2 and my personal favorite was the white chocolate cheesecake, sooo soo good. Only "bad" thing was I didn't enjoy the sticky toffee brownie included with the desert. Everything else I will rave about!! My mom and I were seated next to the window overlooking the Hudson and NYC unfortunately there were 3 business guys sitting in the table next to us that thought it was appropriate to be obnoxiously loud in this quiet space but I digress. I began my meal with three Pacific oysters which were the absolute best I've ever had in my life, clean and sweet. From there my entrée was the seafood risotto filled with a variety of delicious, perfectly cooked ocean beauties with black risotto that had a wonderful Al dente bite, My mom enjoyed the lobster pasta she ordered. For dessert I had the bread pudding which was the perfect ending to a phenomenal meal. This service was exceptional and the noise level was low. There was an array of food selections on the menu. I went for brunch which offered two drink with an entree for $39. I also added an appitizer and dessert which were all amazing. I ordered steak and eggs which was cooked exactly how I asked. I'm not much of a potato person, however, the home fries were delectable. Decided to come back here for brunch while back in town. We sat outside, great views of the Hudson and a nice breeze. We could hear the staff, including the manager in the blue shirt lol, complaining about the guests and their complaints surely manifested in the service we received. It was really quite crazy to hear them complaining in earshot. We first was attended to by Brian and while he stepped away for us to look over the menu, another waiter (a woman, name starts with a B) came and stood awkwardly next to our table and proceeded to ask what we wanted to drink. Confused bc Brian JUST spoke to us, she explained both of them would serve us. Then Brian speaks up and says she'll be taking over. Cool no sweat. Then i asked for straws for my water, and B proceeds to bring up two straws gripped in her bare hands and inserts it into my drink. NOT sanitary much?!?! Shortly after she starts brushing her hair with her bare hands, and EYE am supposed to drink water that's now contaminated with your hair dander... make it make sense omg. My espresso martini was super watery, NOTHING like the espresso martini I has during my past visits (been here twice). So I sent it back, the replacement was better but didn't top my previous time. He had a tequila Bloody Mary, enjoyed the tomato juice but felt his drink was watery too. I was hoping the food would stand out as it was very delicious my last visit. But it was just so so. I ordered the French toast and truffle Mac. The anglaise was incredibly runny, I was so confused. It was like my French toast was in watery soup and it got so soggy real fast. The flavors are there though, like it would've been a 10/10 otherwise. The truffle Mac was oddly bland given such a dynamic dish. It wasn't like my first experience, but it did still have gooey cheese! He had the steak and eggs, every bite was great (he cleaned the plate!). They cooked the steak to perfect tempt, the potatoes were savory, and all other compliments were delicious. Last but not least, it's inconsiderate to start setting the table for dinner service while guests are still sitting at the table. Idk what was going on today at this restaurant but everyone was off and the food and drinks was MEH. Will likely only return if I'm hitting the bar--night and day service, comparatively. read more

The restaurant is pretty expensive so I expected everything to be amazing. Our drinks were cool, however the appetizers were abysmal. Expensive, small portions, and lacked flavor equals a star subtraction. Our entress were pretty tasty and flavorful but also a small portion. Overall I really enjoyed my experience at Haven, but the appetizers need some work to get the full 5 stars. I do recommend this restaurant to others! Came here on a Sunday evening with my girlfriend, we had reservations for indoor dining and were seated as soon as we arrived. Service was good overall we had a hectic day that day and had to change our reservation 3 times and was accommodated without any issues. Our waiter was super attentive, views were amazing and great music selection and volume was perfect for conversation. I would have to say the calamari is the best calamari I have ever tasted. The pretzel crust definitely hit in a way I didn't expect. Crab puppies and the dragonfruit salad was great as well, the crab puppies had a bit of a spicy kick to it and the dragon fruit was the perfect blend of sweet and savory. For the entree we ordered the ribeye (not pictured) to share, which was also enjoyable and cooked to perfection. We also got the lychee martini (not pictured) and I believe its called spicy marg. Drinks were not watered down at all and I also have to give credit to the bartender who was working alone that evening. For dessert we ordered the churro cobbler which took about 15min to make but definitely worth the wait.
