I was in the area and needed a lot of beer for an engagement party…read more The entire staff where outside sorting cans for recycle. Once in a while one guy came in to see what was what. I had to go out several times to grab the guy in order to get anything???? I was very disappointed with he service and would not go back again. It took me an extra 15 minutes standing around waiting for help. Once I was done and rung up the staff did not even ask if they could help carry the cases to the car. I have to say Hicksville Beer & Soda is on my list of places not to go back to. They do however have a good selection to bad they do not like to help customers. I would definitely not go back again as there are any other beer and soda places.

This has been my neighborhood liquor store for the past year or so. The staff is very friendly in…read morethis well stocked, right priced establishment. They have a good selection of wines by region. I also like their selection of Prosecco, sparkling wines, and champagnes. Their stock of whiskey and scotches had a few selections that I didn't see readily available elsewhere. I find their prices to be less then other places I've tried in the area. Their service is also very friendly and helpful. On the occasions I bought enough bottles to warrant a box they brought it out to the car that was parked in their ample parking lot without asking.

I visited…read morethis store for the 1st time since it's fairly close to me and was never greeted or ask if I needed assistance. When I asked man at the front desk if they had a certain wine he barely acknowledged me. I proceeded to make my selection of a wine wine and noticed one refrigerated so I put the back on the self. As was making my selection the same man that offered no assistance came back and accused me of taking a bottle from the fridge and placing it back on the self. As I explained to him I never even opened the refrigerator door and I put the warm bottle back to get a cold one he just says "Oh okay" and offered no apology for his mishap. So basically you can get up to profile me but cannot offer a customer any assistance. I will take my money somewhere else with better service.

The guy at the counter was really in the know about beer and nice enough to sell single bottles from six packs. Definitely check this gem out.

My dad has been coming here for over 15 years, he's a regular, they know him well. Young's offers a great selection of international wines and liquors. It's big so there's a lot of diversity and SO MANY OPTIONS! The employees are always friendly and helpful, and the prices are reasonable as well. The best perk of coming to Young's, aside from the rewards card, is every Saturday they have a wine tasting. Some weeks it's a smaller selection of wines and vendors, others it's much bigger and every so often they throw in some cheese and crackers to nosh on while you sip! Great neighborhood spot!

You walk into Young's, and the air smells like oak, expensive dust, and the quiet desperation of suburban commuters trying to buy an escape before the 6:15 train pulls out. Row after row of bottles. California, France, Italy, all neatly lined up under soft green tags, little glass soldiers waiting to march off to somebody's slow death on a Tuesday night. Up front, they've got premixed Margaritas sitting on the polished counter right next to a price tag for two hundred dollar Napa Cabernet. That's the joke of it. A man can come in here with twenty bucks looking to drown the afternoon away on tot gut Old Irish Rose and Thunderbird, or he can drop a week's pay on a label with a fancy crest, and in the end, the hangover feels exactly the same. The floors are clean wood, the aisles are wide enough to stumble through without knocking over the Bordeaux, and the glass glints off the ceiling like cheap diamonds. It's too neat, too orderly for the kind of drinking that gets you through a soon to be fall into winter of 2026, but the booze is real, the selection is deep enough to sink a ship, and nobody asks you "hows the family or where are you going tonight" when you hand over the cash. It's a good joint. Grab your bottle, pay the man, and get out into the dark before the illusion wears off.
