Since they had a good selection of IPA's, I chose to acquire them there, and pass on the Mirco Brewery. The service was friendly and accommodating. This is my grotto, my bat cave, my home away from home for when I want to grab some quality craft brews. Resembling something similar to a barn from the outside (hey, it's the beverage barn), once you enter you'll be greeted with a plethora of craft beers from all over the country and world. There's plenty of 6 and 12 packs as well as larger amounts for macro beer fans and specialty bottles for those looking for something more rare. The best thing about Bev Barn is the ability to take any bottle from a 6 pack (be cool and don't separate cans or open 12 packs) and mix and match your selections. Bottle deposit is in the back (it's an employee not a machine so no worries about bottles not getting scanned like at your local supermarket) and there's a walk in fridge if you need something icy-cold right away. You'll also find a growler station with some great local beers and a few other choices. For non-beer drinkers there's even an aisle of ciders as well sodas, teas, and other drinks. Some Saturday's they also host tastings from different breweries which is an awesome way to score some free beer. Prices are great (try and snag a coupon flyer before going for a few dollars off) and the employees are friendly and many like to drink so you'll often end up in a convo about your purchase. Good beer distributor with good prices on a fairly standard craft beer selection. It's in a convenient location for when we need beer in a pinch and can't get to our favorite distributor that's a little further away. There's a nice selection of some of the more local beers, like a bunch of Barrier brews I saw the other day. Unfortunately, I've seen a number of beers, including IPAs, that are well beyond their born on dates. Definitely check the dates before you purchase your hoppy beers here. read more

This is a great place to pick up beer and regular drinks such as soda,iced tea, water and seltzer. They have a vast selection of beers and ales. You can look in the Val pack envelope if you get that in the mail because they always have coupons for certain kinds of beer. They also have chips and snack bags available for purchase. Like that they have lotto too. There is a small parking area of you don't want to park on the street. You can recycle your used beer bottles here by going to the back counter. read more

Today I picked up a mix-a-six of Lagunita's Sucks & Waldo, Founders Old Curmudgeon, Singlecut's Billy IPA, Roechfort 10, Avery Mesphistopholes and a Bell's Java Stout on the side. After the Islanders game at the Coliseum on Sunday afternoon, my friend and I (both locals from Jersey, so the trip itself was a dip and a dive) decided we needed to stock up on some local Long Island brews. When I walked in, I asked an associate to point me in the direction of their supply of Barn Rocker. After seeing only 3 six packs, one of which was incomplete, I was disappointed to say the least. But regardless, living two hours away I was not going to leave empty handed. I spent $40 on three six packs of Barn Rocker and left. Once I decided to crack one open, I found to my dismay that they were all EXPIRED! All by more than a calendar month!!!! This is both outrageous and ridiculous and a huge waste of not just my time, but $40!!! read more

I am a craft beer enthusiast and homebrewer, and I appreciate their support for local craft beer. Prices are fair, staff is friendly, and they always have the latest beers (can, bottle or growler). This is the second time I've been here and this past time was terrible. They advertised rebates that were expired, and when I asked if I could return it, they would only offer me a store credit. For an error on their end for advertising false rebates, I would think a store should offer a full refund. read more

I came in to get Bell's Black Note only to find out they're doing a raffle to sell it. I am not pleased with the fact I'll have to come back to pick it up if I'm lucky enough to win and now my e-mail is likely on another mailing list. Other than that, this place has a great selection, but the date's need to be checked for certain beers. I was going to get a Stone Escondidian Black IPA, because I've never seen it before or at least not in a while (it's actually no longer brewed), but it was bottled in August '11 and it says on the bottle "Enjoy Fresh". Those bottles should honestly be poured out and recycled. If they ever get the exclusive stuff, call ahead. A raffle for a beer is crazy for a dedicated craft beer fan who lives miles and miles away. read more

How good can a beer distributor be? Very when they have a friendly staff, reasonable prices, and about 10 different beers on tap to fill your growlers with interesting choices! My most recent was a 2012 Anchor Steam Old Foghorn Barelywine Style ale. It was fantastic. I filled up a 64 ounce growler for about $17 plus tax. Not bad at all when you consider what a six pack costs these days. Don't know what to pick, they're always willing to let you try a sample to make sure you're getting the beer you want. Not realizing the supermarket down the street closed, I stumbled upon Beverage Barn a few blocks away and it did not disappoint. The store has a wide variety of beer to choose from in a no-frills warehouse atmosphere; single beers, growlers, and larger cases are available. Been going here for years. I like the owners but they are an acquired taste. They treat their customers well and appreciate your business. Good craft selection and they are mindful to keep craft hipster nerds from wiping out their stock on hot items. Respect. Import section is decent and they keep Aecht Schlenkerla stocked year round. A win for all who enjoy that brewery. Growler taps are generally local, but not on the cutting edge side of local (think Greenport, Long Ireland, Great South Bay....and no Singlecut, Other Half, etc.). I'd like to see that change, but understand that it may not be suited for their mainstream customers. Either way, a good store. Stop by. Give them some love. read more

The owner is a nasty man and is the main reason I will not go here. He's been rude to me and other customers on numerous occasions. I recommend going to total wines and liquor which just opened near Roosevelt field mall. Better prices, better selection and better service. read more

The best thing about this place is its convenient location and the fact that there's always parking since it's next to a Walgreens with a huge lot. Selection is okay at best, definitely in decline over the last few years. Craft selection is an afterthought at this point - it comprises, at best, one half of one aisle (the other half is mostly imports). For one of the larger distributors in the area, they have the least cooler space. Good luck getting what you want cold unless it's a 12-pack of Corona or Coors. No thanks. It's definitely ideal if you want to pick up a a 30-rack your grandfather drank - Geneese (Cream & Regular), Schaefer, Yuengling, etc. Otherwise, it's as stuck in the past as its owners, who have been there 50+ years. If you're looking for variety, quality, and COLD BEER, go to Connolly Beverage on Hempstead Tpke or Universal Beverage in Carle Place. Maybe not as convenient to some as this ideal Jericho Tpke location, but worth it for selection and price. read more
