This is my sixth rebate over the years, all different distributers, I've always had to fight to get the rebate after meticulous submission. It may be Grey goose, Kim Crawford, Jim Beam or others... By now, yup, I should have learned my lesson. However, Current issue is KIM CRAWFORD $48.00 REBATE ON A CASE OF Kim Crawford is calling me ineligible for purchasing a case and is refusing to send the rebate. GREY GOOSE, which also hasn't paid their rebate of $21.00 on 3 bottles since August, had to be called multiple times, said "we are reviewing". I got an email on Christmas saying that the online store was opened and there was a % off code. I put in an order, of course there was no delivery times available on Christmas day, not surprising, so I chose curbside pick up, but I expected it to be ready on Thursday. But nope, I didn't receive an email so at 11:30 today I sent them an email to cancel it. I think they did....no one reached out but I don't see the pending charged on my credit card. Many years ago before they had added other locations this store was my "GoTo" for wine and alcohol. This store has a much larger inventory I believe than other and they also provide their clients an opportunity to taste selected wines. Their prices on products such as Woodford Preserve Bourbon which is significantly lower price than most other leading liquor dealers. I came upon Bottle Buys back in the late 1990s by way of a friend's recommendation. Both then and now the store is fully stocked with wines and spirits from all stretches of taste, function and desirability. Not being much of a spirits guy, but still walk the aisles to read a few bottles as I enjoy reading the little stories some bottles share on the back side, my sites are set on wine. The free tasting sign caught my immediate attention and although the foyer was congested with customers, I grabbed a flyer unaware of its content. Turns out, of the twelve wines that could be sampled, ten had explanations upon the brochure. The mechanical pours only offer a little half ounce peek into the grapes world, however, Joe's descriptions gave the missing details a little sip could not give. I looked in like a relief pitcher into my non webbed wallet for a high heater $10 for Joe, the explanations were exceptional but he waved me off. There is full representation of every spirit at what appeared to me to be discounted by at least one third less than anywhere else I've passed through. But the wines, ooh the wines -- such varieties, bargains within each aisle, it's worth a trip. read more

Not the best, but not the worst. The wine selection is okay...the prices really aren't anything special. Employees have little knowledge of wine types or alternative options nor are they friendly or helpful. Unless you are buying "off brand" there's no real savings. BEWARE of a headache if you are 30 or younger. These people already have an attitude problem because they are working at a mediocre liquor store. However, I've been here so many times I never had the headache I've experienced before. This big black cashier checked my ID 3 times and then asked how old I was as if I was a kid trying to do something illegal. She then had the audacity to ask for help with the other employees to see if my ID was real. I'm sorry, but number 1 learn how to read. Number 2, stay in school - and if you are, then it's a lost cause. Number 3 - don't ask my age when it's right in front of you on a Legitimate license. Lastly, they told me it was "store policy" to run my license with their "new" machine. Meanwhile, no other customer went through this process. Although they have some nice employees that are knowledgeable, the cashiers in front need to realize that they are cashiers, not government employees. The new New York licenses can't be forged. I have to commend these guys on their flawless execution of pick up orders during Covid-19. I pulled into the lot yesterday and my order was in my car in (I kid you not) 60 Seconds. I even showed up late once not realizing the change in store hours and they still brought me my order! I've been going to this store for a few years now And everybody is beyond friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Today, at around 3:30 in the afternoon, I was denied the right to buy two bottles of wine from the woman behind the counter because apparently Bottle Buy all of a sudden doesn't accept US passports as a form of proper ID. I'm 34 years old-- closer to age 40 than to 21! I do look remarkably young, much younger than the person behind the counter who could've easily been a decade or more younger than me. Had she shown a modicum of professionalism, I wouldn't be leaving this kind of review, or any kind really. The store is nothing special. But that person was nasty, which made her repulsive to me and it ruffled my otherwise peaceful, lovely feathers. That aside, it's a decent place to buy wine if you have a driver's license. read more

Bottlebuys has a vast selection of well-priced wines, but only a few of them are familiar to me. It's tricky to go here and be able to find the same thing twice -- unless it's a fairly inexpensive mass-distributed brand -- so if you find something you really like, go back and stock up! We like to go here to peruse the Bordeaux section, as they frequently have very good (if not pricey) vintages from renowned regions. It's also fun to play around in their Pinot Noir section - they have interesting labels from the West Coast, and prices range from $10 to $70, depending on what you're looking for. As for the store layout, it's clean, well-lit and pretty organized. The staff is always stocking and re-stocking from their trollies, which can be a bit annoying as you have to move out of THEIR way, but whatevs. They also have a section with vino accoutrements, from glasses to stoppers and corkscrews, and decorative gift bags so this can be a great place to pop in to get someone a gift. I'm sure you guys are familiar with BJ's. Bottle Buys to me is exactly like BJ's except for liquor and wine. The magic golden rule always applies especially to liquors where the bigger bottle or more you buy the more you save. They pass on the rebates to you depending on your purchase, which ends up even cheaper than you would expect. They have a free card which you can sign up for and after that they send you coupons very frequently. ( A great example: Last year they agreed to pay $1 for every inch of snow in the storm. They counted 20 so it was a coupon for $20 bucks.) Also for wine lovers they always have 12 wines to taste. Staff is very knowledgeable and always great customer service. read more

NOT LAW ENFORCEMENT FRIENDLY!!!! Recently went in to purchase about 10 bottles of wine and some other spirits for the holidays. I asked a store employee if he could give me assistance with the bottle of wine i needed. I only inquired as to not make a mess of their shelves. Jim's response: "It's right there, grab it yourself." Jim was too focused on a customer who was tasting free wine samples and who I later observed walk out of the store after purchasing NOTHING!! I had just finished work and was wearing one of my POLICE T-Shirts and 5-11's on. I'm not sure why i was given such poor customer service but I can only assume JIM (thats what he said his name was) did not value me as a customer. I have been going to this location for years. Instead of looking at my ID and do the job of a cashier. she asks how old I am. to which I reply 25 because I was born 1994 and in less than a month would be 25. Now after looking my id up seeing its real, the cashier proceeds to call in help. oh and the cashier was the manger, WHAT MANGER NEEDS TO CALL FOR HELP TO LOOK AT AN ID. that's besides the point. even after giving my address in front of other people who were checking out. Although they have very good deals and a great selection, I'm disappointed at how they're handling the mask situation. I've shopped at Bottle Buys a decent amount of times and have always been asked to see my ID, which I am totally fine with. However, I recently went the first time since the pandemic begun and I was asked to show my ID, which I did and the cashier scanned it. The cashier then asked for a second form of ID, which I provided. What appalled me was that the cashier then asked me to remove my mask to ensure my driver's license photo matched my face. After showing a second form of identification and my license scanning with no issues, I felt the cashier asking me to pull down my mask was kind of ridiculous considering we are in the midst of a global pandemic. I'm extremely disappointed in Bottle Buys' lack of concern for their customers' health and safety (not just my own safety, but also the other customers around me). I personally believe asking for a third form of identification would've been more appropriate than asking a customer to remove their mask. read more

The WORST customer service ever. The woman at the counter was incredibly rude and refused to sell me a bottle of rose despite me showing her two forms of ID. DO NOT COME HERE!!! The second i came to the counter she asked for my ID and i easily gave it to her because it was my 21st birthday and i just wanted to buy alcohol for the first time and then she looked at my ID and said i need a second form of ID so i gave her my student ID and she didn't even look at it and refused to sell me alcohol. Why do I even need to show you two forms of ID when I showed you my actual drivers license??? Just a drivers license is good enough to board a domestic flight why the heck are you making it more difficult to buy alcohol for someone who is clearly legal???? Absolutely humiliating experience on my 21ST BIRTHDAY! This is usually my go to place for wine a liquor. Great staff that knows wine and doesn't try and push any particular wine. They often get some really great bottles in so I always make it a point to stop in when I'm in town. Large place. If you are looking for the basic liquors or wines to stock your home, this is the right place. This place can be packed on the weekends, but the lines move quickly. They offer wine tastings everyday, having a series of Wine Stations in the back of the store. The workers at this location are very friendly and helpful, cause sometimes the place can be somewhat intimidating. read more

just got the rudest associate at bottlebuys, snatched my cart away as if to prevent theft. sad. never going back and neither are my friends. (guess who buys all the liquor all the time). I don't even have to pay tax at certain liquor stores as a military member, going there is a courtesy. The worse part was staring at my ID forever and then refusing to scan it, when you basically gave away the fact that you'd hadn't seen it by looking it over and over confused before freaking out. been there several times with it for party loads. oh well, saved at least 50 bucks on that massive purchase by going somewhere else. read more
