Came here around 11am for lunch. I loved the music playing and the vibe that this place has. I ordered a Cuban sandwich and a strawberry smoothie. I would say the sandwich was decent, not bad but i was expecting more. I did enjoy the smoothie. I also did not like that it took 25 minutes for them to make my order. Not sure why it took so long. I've ordered the empanadas multiple times and beef is my favorite. I love that it's full of flavor. The avena is also very delicious. they also have an espresso machine so the coffee is amazing. I would definitely recommend and will continue to visit the spot. The staff are always so nice which is a plus. read more

After passing by this place numerous times after work, I finally got a chance to try what they are calling "Cuban Sandwich King". They must close fairly early since they are closed when I pass by at 6pm. So this was a Saturday that I was able to make this visit. When I walked in, I was taken aback. Very basic and not much personality. Now I'm getting nervous. The gentleman that helped me was extremely nice. I looked at a menu and it was fairly simple. Hey. Then again... However It was the worst example of a Cuban sandwich that I have ever had. I randomly drove by Andris one day and noticed this small place on the corner . Usually I travel to North Bergen and Union city to get my Cuban food. After seeing good reviews I knew I had to make a stop. If this place was good and I didn't have to drive to NB for a Cubano. I'm sold . Came here with some co-workers, before one of them could ask what the cuban special was the guy behind the counter read his mind and told us it had chorizo in it. So of course we all got the Cuban Special. While I was waiting i got the beef stuffed yuca, there was nothing yuca about it. Nicely fried on the outside but still soft on the inside and the beef wasn't dry at all. Now on to the sandwich: Bread - crispy as it should be, you hear that nice crunch when you bite in. Pork - the ham was good, and the shredded pork was not dry Pickles - Needed more Chorizo - Nice addition to the sandwich Cheese - I wanted a little bit more Garlic Sauce - very tasty, recommend getting a side of it to add some more flavor Overall a very good sandwich, I do wish it was a little bigger though. A solid Cuban sandwich spot in a random corner in Lyndhurst?!? Yes, and yes. I came here thanks to my mom's recommendation and was hoping to get not a sandwich but other Cuban food as well, but turns out they mostly just do appetizers (like empanadas, papa rellena, etc) and sandwiches. I came in at 4:30 PM on a Saturday which is mightly close to closing time for them - be aware. After a good conversation with the owner, understood he had figured out his market. They stopped doing hot food because it wasn't selling and going to waste as well, which is a shame considering there are no nearby Cuban restaurants. I had the Cubano, although I wanted the Cubano especial, but figured keep it simple the first time. THe sandwich was solid, a very decent Cuban and for $6 it beats having to drive into Hudson county or Newark if you are in the area. They do take credit as well, which is awesome. read more

My wife and I had a superb experience at Andris. She ordered a steak sandwich, I got the special Cuban sandwich. We both got a stuffed Potato ball and a stuffed Yuca. She got a soda to drink and I got a Parcha shake. The sandwiches were flavorful and tasty. The potato ball and stuffed Yuca were delicious. I loved my Parcha shake. Small hole in the wall joint. My husband and I both tried the Cuban sandwich which was delicious. We both had a beef empanada each, they were fried perfectly and the beef was seasoned nicely. Tried a Cuban coffee and it was good but I impressed. I heard the cortadito is excellent here but the gentleman who makes that particular Cuban coffee was not in the restaurant at the time. We spoke to the manager Julius for quite a while and he was just a super nice guy. The whole place including the bathroom needs a makeover for sure and maybe more attention paid to the stuff that's on the floor (napkin, straw, etc.) but other than that the Cuban sandwich was very good, the empanada was delicious, our coffee was good but again it wasn't the traditional Cuban cortadito that we should have ordered. Just straight Cuban- perfect amount ham, pernil, Swiss and pickles. The Cuban bread was toasted to perfection making the nice crunchy, hollow sound. A perfect specimen of a Cuban sandwich. The steak was thinly sliced and freshly cooked. It was layered onto Cuban bread with lettuce and tomatoes and topped with Durkees French fried potatoes and oil and vinegar. It brought memories of my childhood. This is a place to go to if you don't feel in the mood to travel to West New York or Union City and deal with traffic or difficult parking. Give it a try.
