Found this place totally by chance while running errands, and wow--I'm so glad I did! The food was amazing--flavorful, fresh, and came out super quick. Everything we ordered hit the spot perfectly. The staff was incredibly kind and polite, which made the experience even better. You can feel how much pride they take in making sure guests are happy. From start to finish, it was just perfect. Definitely a gem I'll be coming back to--sometimes the best finds are the ones you stumble across! read more

super yummy! we got empanadas and coffee. Super nice worker recommended cafe cremoso con hielo entero and it was to die for. The beef empanadas weren't the best, some seasoning was not tasting good. Beautiful place with parking (difficult to find in Paterson ifyky) and the actual shop was beautiful read more

If you are ever in Paterson stop by @cafecitonj . It's definitely worth it! Nice and friendly staff, clean and nicely designed. @darlingelevates and I had the chance to try it out before meeting a seller. Definitely a good spot to have coffee, talk business or just relax. So after my review the owner messaged me and let me know he listened to feedback and to come again. So I finally managed to stop in and I do see the improvements. For one, there was a nice big menu board so I don't have to look at a menu printed at the register. I didn't have coffee this time since I prefer coffee when it's cold out, but I can at least say the self serve area looks like it's gone. I can't say if the coffee is better, but it seems a little more professional when it's not sitting out like an office break room. They also have nicely printed menus to go that look nicely done. I got another AvoKodo sandwich and it tasted great. If you are looking for a breakfast or sandwich place, this does seem like a good option and a good price. Some of the things that seemed unprofessional have been addressed. I do think it would be nice to see things in the display cases instead of having them empty, but maybe they are used more earlier in the day and stuff runs out. I like the food and I like improvements that have been made so I'd recommend this place for a quick bite. read more

The order I just received reminded me of why I don't spend my money here. They got one of my items wrong, they sent me pretty much whatever they wanted. They forgot one of my items as most of the times I've ordered from there and lastly the pizza empanada was disgusting, filled with air, grease and a little bit of sauce. For the price they charge on their combo empanadas they should be better. read more

I pass this spot regularly and finally decided to give it a shot. The papaya smoothie is so fresh and absolutely delicious, and this is my go to spot for it. The empanadas are solid. I love the chicken and cheese especially, my favorite there. The pastry on all the empanadas is light and flaky, tasty on its own without the filling. The beef empanadas are solid, enough to solve my empanada craving but not the best I've ever had. The prices are really cheap which is a huge plus. I'll definitely be ordering from here again. read more

I tried the Dominican Chimi, and I was so disappointed. I was truly looking forward to a flavorful chimi; however, I found myself with a beautiful flavorless patty. The meat had no seasoning whatsoever. I'm giving it three stars because their Cuban sandwich was pretty good so I'm not entirely banning this restaurant but I'll never order the chimi again. read more

I've been ordering from this restaurant for years now. I'm ashamed at the amount of money I've spent here over the years. However, the quality and service just get worse & worse. On numerous occasions I've waited 20+ minutes for my order which was sitting on the counter! They've also become very inconsistent. I loved the fried pork chop with tostones from here. Suddenly I order and it's now a smoked pork chop. Not what I expected and not nearly as tasty as the SEASONED pork chop they used to sell. Also, the menu does not reflect the change. I've also ordered their soothing hot tea which was made with fruits and herb& spices. Sometimes I get all the fixings, other time I get a TEA BAG. I have spoken to management but sadly, not much has changed. Sadly, I can't continue to patronize a business who does not listen to their customers complaints. read more

If I could give NO STARS I would. This is ridiculous. We ordered 2 bacon egg and cheese sandwiches, they were $5.99 each(crazy)! There was 2 slices of bacon in them, why pay 5.99$ for bread and eggs? We asked for our money back and they said they couldn't do it, but instead they would make new ones. They put a couple more pieces of bacon on our OLD-BITTEN INTO sandwiches, heated them up and pretty much threw them in the bag. So gross. There's no reason to disrespect my food. I will never order from them again, neither should you read more

Glad I finally tried this place! Creative delicious breakfast options and flavorful smoothies and juices!

I saw the place on yelp. So i decided to give it a try since it looks very nice and food looks great. I arrived at 1:10ish and by 1:30 nobody has taken our order yet so i thought i had to order up in the front and i didn't know. I ordered 2 sandwiches, cappuccino and 2 waters. Also There was a lady that just walked in and got in line too because she saw me ordering upfront then the server told her that she was going to take her order where she's seated instead. So red flag #1. Also i was seated where they can see me and she also saw me walk in too . Next My food came out and after about 5ish minutes she asked if we're missing anything ( which was another sandwhich ) Took another 7 min.. and still no waters yet so i had to go up front and ask for the waters i had ordered ... So bad first impression if you ask me :/ read more

Great tasting food but the portion sizes are off. The amount of fries they give you with your sandwiches are minimum to none. Was told the food would be ready in 20 minutes and ended up waiting an extra 15. Other than this, the food really does taste great. Would really recommend the Avakado Sandwich. read more

I was looking forward to the opening of Cafecito for months, since I live in the area, and I couldn't wait to try all the different kind of coffees this place was going to offer. Turns out, Cafecito only offers ONE type of regular Coffee and it's from a self serving machine!! Lol!!! On top of that, the coffee tasted like rubbing alcohol and I could only take 3 sips before having to toss it. On a semi-positive note, the empanadas were decent but nothing to brag about. The best part about this place was the wall decor. I really wanted to give this place 2 stars since the wall decor was nice - but there is no way that this is a 4 star cafe spot. You are better off going to Fine Grind by Willowbrook mall which is my personal favorite. I really was hoping Cafecito would be my new home for coffee and hanging out, I'm disappointed on how bad this place turned out to be. If the owner, or if one of the owners friend's are reading this, please don't be afraid to reach out to me. I really think this place has potential, but it needs some serious help. I may even have a friend who lives a few blocks away who can maybe work their part-time and give the coffee some life. I will visit again LATER LATER down the road and hopefully I'll update my review. read more

Placed a large order at 11am. They told me it would be ready by 1:45pm. Long story short after a very frustrating afternoon, I didn't have my complete order until FOUR THIRTY in the afternoon. Half the food was incorrect, some orders were missing and just overall not good. My calls were ignored and I was told it was my fault for ordering too late. They also charged my card several times since it was an online order. One charge for $50 with no reason. Still have PTSD from this lunch order from hell. read more

Just coming back from Cafecito. I ordered 10 empanadas (6 chicken and 4 beef), they make them fresh so as time went by I saw the lady start to put my empanadas in the bag. 1) she had no gloves handling my empanadas - illegal 2) she used her hand to put one of my beef empanada in the bag. (I saw her put one with no glove and the rest was with the equipment) I told the lady at the front desk and she asked the cook if she put it in the bag with her hands in Spanish. As if I was lying! I literally just saw her. Of course the cook denied it. They made the excuse that "the kitchen is clean"and to "not worry about it". Gross. And not a way to handle that situation. All I can say the empanadas are cheap but I will not be touching any of my beef empanadas. They did offer to make new ones but that is not the point. It's about sanitation. Update: tried the empanada that wasn't touched and they were disgusting. read more

IF I COULD GIVE NO STARTS I WOULD!!!! This is the 1st review I have ever given, even when a place is bad, I still wouldn't give a review. BUT this is worth a negative review. This magu was absolutely disgusting. It was dry, the onion were not only raw but CHOPPED?!?? This is a disgrace to the Dominican culture!!!! I asked for extra cheese and salami which I paid for and instead they quartered the original 2 each!!!! I also came in to pick up and tipped the jar $5. When I demanded a manager, they gave me a person who didn't even speak English and this is a male owned business according to PUBLIC information. The girl had the nerve to be rude, distasteful and unacceptable. If the owner reads this review and lease call me I have Ben a customer for 2 years and have ordered plenty of times. Even have sent business so many times, I have never gotten magu like this from cafecito but from any restaurant. Disappointment was to say the least. read more

Food here is really good and amazing at times. But the customer services in this place is the worse customer service I have ever seen in a establishment. I'm dominican and I can get around grumpy dominican men and women but this place takes the cake for something not even dominican in DR can handle. An attitude. read more
