    Sopressata

If you like Italian food this place can not be missed. Aldo & Antonio are craftsman in the art of producing fine Italian specialties. They do their own butchering on the premises and produce fresh and dry sausages which include sopressata and store made pancetta. They are full service butchers that produce the total gamet of meats from beef, lamb and even rabbit. Their sandwiches are stacked with meat. The prices are reasonable considering the quality. One-half ($10), a whole sandwich ($18-$20). A half of a sandwich is equal to a whole sandwich many other places. Aside from their meat selection, they make their own braided mozzarella hourly. Twelve varieties of cheeses, stuffed breads, fresh pasta salades, many varieties of olives , olive oils, San Marzano tomatoes and sfogliatella are some of the other items available. These guys are helpful when it comes to servicing their customers. They realize not everyone is Italian so they have a friendly attitude in guiding their customers selections. They are a gem in the community.

Old school deli's are my favorite! This is one of them. It is located on the end of a strip mall so you have to know it is there. It looks and feels like a proper deli. The good news is the food also hits like a proper deli. The little joe which was chicken cutlet, mozzarella, sundries tomatoes with a touch of balsamic was delicious. The bread is the star of the show as well. Lovely sandwich. The eggplant parmigna also was good. A lot of thin layers of eggplant without it being mushy. Wish there was more sauce. I was surprised they didn't have a ton of hot food. Maybe it was the end of the day. Anyway, I would come back and try other sandwiches. Love finding these gems.

My go to place whenever I crave for an authentic italian deli. Their staff are very friendly and their food always taste fresh. My favorites include the Monalisa and Little Angelo sandwich. They alao sell meats and different italian goodies. The store is clean and parking is never a problem. You must try this spot if ever you're in Paterson, Wayne or Totowa area.

This place is fantastic!!! Sandwiches are the best around...nobody in the area comes close. Sausages and meats are also incredible and always fresh. Their homemade soppressata is the best dry salami you can get in this area without heading into NYC. Homemade mozzarella is beyond perfect and on par if not better than most places around.

Sandwiches are phenomenal. I've been looking for an excellent Italian deli that knows how to not disappoint with their sandwiches. I haven't tried their sausages or other specialties yet, but they look desirable and customers order them while I'm being helped. #1,4,19,21 are my choices. I've attached #4

An old fashioned Italian Jersey Deli serving some huge made to order sandwiches. Everything sliced fresh and made to order. The sandwiches were so large that half a sandwich was really two, making it a great value as well. The Jersey guys working that morning were friendly and talkative. Good guys who love talking baseball.

I was handed a slice of prosciutto out of the blue wrapped around the most glorious mozzarella I have ever tasted.

We ordered the brisket, it was cooked to perfection, the side dishes included salad, rice and mashed potatoes. Food tasted great. Next time we are in town we will come back and try something different from the menu.

Paterson, NJ - like many patrons, my husband came across this place via their tantalizing Instagram…read moreposts and urged us to go. They were busy at dinner time on a Sunday night. As many reviewers mentioned, no one bothered to acknowledge us when we arrived, so I flagged down a waitress who said we could sit whenever we want. We chose to sit in the airier covered outdoor area (which isn't exposed to the elements so is perfectly temperate even in cold weather). There were no instructions on how to order either - this seems like a basic customer service fail: is it that hard to slap up signage explaining 1-2-3, or for someone (anyone!) to greet you and ask if this is your first time here and walk you through the process? Anyway, I'm glad I read the reviews and checked out what we wanted to order beforehand, and asked questions at the cashier. Sure, it's not that hard, but one really shouldn't have to actively track down multiple staff for directions on where to go or how to order at a restaurant. The deal is: decide which meat(s) you want from the poster (there is no menu), place your order (sold by the pound) with the cashier, pay, go to your table, and a server will bring the food to you when it's ready. The meat is (at current writing) $45/lb with unlimited sides and soft drinks. We ordered 1 lb each of beef brisket and lamb shank (1 lb = 2 shanks), which was the perfect amount of food for us 2 hungry adults, 2 teens of modest appetite, and a toddler of negligible appetite. The meat is simply seasoned (Arab bbq style) and came out lukewarm, but is off-the-bone tender and we enjoyed them with the variety of sauces. There are four types of sides: cucumber & tomato salad (good), spring mix, saffron rice (fine but my toddler loved this), and mashed potatoes (bland). It is a well-balanced meal, not too heavy. The chefs are friendly and we watched one film a demo almost certainly for social media. He even let us taste some of what he was seasoning, though there were no pyrotechnics as I had hoped from seeing some of the reels. The service wasn't bad - not terribly proactive but not non-existent either, and we always received what we requested. They could do better with customer guidance, but now that I know what's up I'd come back for the food and would like to try some other meats next time. Meat Moot has many franchises across the Middle East and Turkey, and NJ is one of only 3 locations in the US (the other 2 being in the Midwest). Street parking only.
