First time at this Peruvian restaurant. This place offers a small indoor seating area and they also have outdoor seating. Parking isn't the easiest but there are options. Friendly service. Waitress was super patient with us. Menu is small but I do like that because then it makes deciding on an item easier. Prices are decent especially for the amount of food they serve. Food was pretty good and the portions were large. You can definitely share.

First time trying Peruvian food I loved it we ordered the chaufa especial with shrimp chicken and steak and also ordered the jallea. The green sauce was bomb and the waitress was so cute!

Service was lovely. Non English speakers, use Google translate if ur stuck...but the menu had English translations. Prompt, fresh and attentive. Highly recommend the experience. Would come again

The food was absolutely Came out pretty fast and it was perfect! Plates are pretty good size, you might be able to share one (we're foodies so two plates were right for two people) , though the anticuchos are an entrée. Overall, loved it 5/5

The food and service here is great! Some of the best Peruvian food in the area. Ambiance is good too.

Not sure why I've overlooked this place in the past, considering it's so close to my house. Nonetheless, I've enjoyed lunch here a few times and the food has been great. Lunch specials (menú) are $8.50 and you get an app, main dish and drink. The price is great for the quality they serve. Waitresses are super friendly and the restaurant itself is casual but cozy. With so many other Peruvian options nearby, this will still continue to be one of my go-to's as long as the quality stays the same.

I bumped into this place on accident. I went to Paterson on July 28th to celebrate the Peruvian Independence Day. I was not planning to eat here. Due to Covid a lot of places did not offer outdoor seating We just wanted to sit and enjoy the food fresh. Do we say a little alley way with lights. Looks busy and the aroma coming from there. It was like OMFG. so I made the executive decision to eat here. The waiter was very helpful. The menu was very extensive. We couldn't decide what to get. After a while we went with some traditional Peruvian dishes. The portions were enough for a family. Lol. The flavor was was very homemade flavor. Oh yes. I wanna say I had my own Peruvian food truck and restaurant. I gave to say. A++.

Food was tasteless and over priced not worth the money. Service was fair. Ambiance loud and small.

The restaurant (as of July 5, 2026) was nicely decorated with pirate/ocean themes, as well as a variety of country flags for the World Cup games. The ambiance was lit enough, and we were seated in a clean booth. For our appetizer, just to change things up a bit -- we tried the 6 piece lemon pepper wings. They were lightly seasoned and served fresh from the fryer. They came with both blue cheese and ranch dressings. However, neither dressings were house made (BUMMER!). Still delicious though! As for my main, I ordered 1 lb. of head-on shrimp and 1/2 lb. of mussels with garlic butter. There is a variety of sauces you can choose from, and a variety of spice-choices to choose from as well. DISCLAIMER: I did choose spicy, but it was NOT SPICY! That could just be my spice tolerance (a me problem), but I was left with meh. The taste was amazing though! Along with my boil, I did something unusual, for a $5 premium, you can add ramen noodles to your boil! I thought that was interesting and did so and I am so glad I did it! The noodles sucked up all that garlic butter and were excellent vehicles of flavor being slurped! TOTAL GAME CHANGER. Shout out to Jonathan our server. He was attentive, friendly, and welcoming. 5 stars for the experience, -1 star for my preferred spice level. Overall, 4 stars!

Glad I came here today.....it was a quiet afternoon but the food was ready to go. We order 1/2 New Zealand Mussels in Cajan sauce, which comes with 2 potatos and a "fall off the cob"corn! So good! A couple of refreshment drinks, which started the beginning of our Fathers Day weekend. Thank you Hook & Reel for good tasty and affordable food and thank you Johnathan for being an awesome server.! I will come back... :)

If I have an amazing dish out somewhere, I can usually carry it home in my head and come up with a knockoff that's not half bad. Christmas Eve was always my big night -- also my birthday -- when I hosted the Feast of the Seven Fishes. At one point, over 30 people would pack in to share it. For 30 years straight, the fish came from one place only: Peter's Seafood in Midland Park. But tonight, what's on my mind isn't Yelp or fish markets. It's my neighbor Pete. He was my best friend here -- a guy who could spin stories about New York in the 1950s like he was giving you a private tour. Sometimes he'd get a "Woolley" (that's Italian for craving) for lobster or clams. I'd drive north to Peter's, haul it back to Monroe, and we'd make a night of it: good food, better conversation. Pete passed away this weekend. I know it comes with the territory of living in a senior village -- neighbors will pass on. But this is my first loss here, and it feels like a big one.Pete would laugh if I told him that I needed to add great ambience in my side yard to make this a complete Yelp review...
