El Mamut is amazing! I live an hour away from it unfortunately, but let me tell you it's well worth the hour drive! Literally every single item on the menu is delicious and homemade. The restaurant is also spotless and very clean. Service is very attentive and kind. Wish them nothing but the best.

The tables are spaced out and they are following Covid protocols. We had to wait about 15 minutes for a table, so we ordered as soon as we sat down and the food came out right away. Then pan con chicharrón was a bit greasy because the chicharrón had a lot of fat on it, but the sweet potato and onions on it tasted great. The tamal de pollo with onions was also very tasty and with hot sauce on top it was great. The hot emoliente was perfect for a nice winter day and the salchipapa was good, but the best was the leche asada. This is a baked milk pudding so it is a mixture of hard and soft as the top part is hard but once you eat it all it's amazing.

Amazing shakes and breakfast sandwich options! I've been coming here for a while now and although it is a bit over priced it is well worth it. Typical Peruvian breakfast sandwiches like the chicharon & huevo con salchicha are the go to's. Also the lomo en jugo with bread on the side is just delicious. Pair any of these with a fresh juice and your set to start your day. The only down sides is that this location is small and normally packed so there is a wait and they aren't the best with a system of sitting people down. Also this is a pretty busy street so parking is the worst. If you come early and are prepared to wait you will enjoy your time here.

What a delicious find! This Peruvian restaurant serves a variety of sandwiches and they are all delicious - from their jamón de país to their chicharrón and eggs- it's hard to pick one! If you want to make a quick stop and take a breakfast sandwich on, i recommend stopping here!

Had I come only to eat an empanada they would've gotten 1 star. I was disappointed as it was dry inside. They seemed to have nuked it in the microwave really drying out the chicken inside. HOWEVER, I came for the sandwiches. I had the asado (steak style) sandwich. I asked them to add lettuce, tomato and avocados. It was very tasty and fresh. The sauce it's cooked in was good and the red onions they used gave it a nice flavor a semi-crunch that really made this a delicious sandwich. Even though I'll never eat an empanada from here again, I probably will return to try out a different sandwich.

I had the beef (carne) Peruvian taco. Really tasty. Nice combination of meat, sweet potatoes, white beans (frijoles) in a tasty but not spicy sauce. They have a sauce list you can choose from. I asked the gentleman who took my order to give me a non spicy sauce. Whatever he put it in the taco was delicious. He made my taco the way he would eat it. They don't take credit card under $10 so I had to run out and get cash but it was so worth it. I will be back to try their chicharrón sandwich. That also looked delicious.

Since Yemeni coffee and tea options aren't common for everyone, they take the time to explain the menu and answer questions, which I really appreciated. However, the Adeni Chai was the only saving grace of the visit. It was flavorful and well made, but the coffee was a massive disappointment. I tried the Jubani after the staff described it as a delicious light-roasted coffee packed with caffeine, but in reality, it tasted like bland cardamom water with absolutely no coffee flavor or body. It felt like I was just drinking hot spiced water. The atmosphere was also a major issue as there was no seating available whatsoever. The crowd was mostly of Middle Eastern descent and many were incredibly rude; people will bump right into you and not say a word. Even worse was the way some customers spoke to the workers, it was absolutely deplorable. Honestly, who raised you? It was uncomfortable to witness. The dessert selection was even worse. Most of what we ordered felt stale and old. The only thing worth eating was the bubble dessert with cheese because they actually toast it. We tried both the pistachio milk cake and the pistachio dream cake, and neither was impressive. The khattafi in the pistachio dream was the biggest letdown; it was so stale and bland I can't believe they actually put it out to sell when it was clearly weeks if not months old. The basboosa was also a disappointment, as it was a very small square of semolina cake for almost $5. Overall, It is not a good place for coffee or desserts, so if you do go, stick strictly to the Adeni chai.

At its core, it honors regional food heritage while continually reinventing itself with new techniques and cultural perspectives. Located on Park Avenue in the heart of Rutherford, my partner, our friends, and I determined to start 2026 for brunch as first-timers. The reservation was easily made by calling the restaurant. Upon arrival at Sonoma Bistro, we were greeted by the staff and got a table by the back wall decorated for the holidays, evoking a festive, warm, casual, and inviting vibe with music playing throughout. For some of us as a starter, we decided on the beef empanadas. As a main meal, we opted for Steak Sandwich, Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict, Veggie Omelette, My Big Breakfast, and Bistro Omelette. Washed down a Hugo Spritz for toasting to the New Year. Each dish felt like a work of art, as it was beautifully presented, bursting with flavor, and deliciously tasty. The chef focused on sourcing local, seasonal ingredients to ensure freshness. Our service was attentive and super friendly. Our server was George. The price was reasonable. This establishment checked all the boxes! One doesn't just come here to eat. One comes for an experience that leaves one feeling inspired, which we can recommend.
