I recall seeing this place advertised as a new Peruvian cuisine venue on IG. We decided to go recently during the week figuring it would be quiet. Well it was perfect for our small group of 3 on a weekday because it was quiet and perfect during Covid for us. We ordered chicha morada, lomo saltado, jalea and lomo with arroz chaufa. I hate to say this but it was just OK. We probably should have tried their Peruvian chicken but sadly didn't. Why the 3 stars? Both of our limos included pieces of fatty meat that were not as tender as they should have been. Lomo requires a tender, non fatty meat and our dishes sadly disappointed. They were also a tad bit salty for our taste. The rice had an original taste that although different, again, was a bit too seasoned for our liking. The chicha was good and the jalea was pretty tasty. I give them a 5 for presentation and another 5 for the cool looking vibe and decor. Also I believe they are BYOB because they didn't not have serve alcoholic beverages. Good luck Reventón! Nice place and nice service. Oh and they charge .75 for additional hot sauce. Glad they told us instead of just charging us. Thanks to the cool server who hooked us up when we said no to that second serving BC of the price. Perhaps they should tell patrons in the beginning when they bring it out just in case they pour it al over their appetizers as we did without knowing. Again-thanks for not charging us. We did enjoy the green sauce. Another reason for my 3 star rating -when I received the check, they had already added a 15% tip charge. Just be on the lookout. Fortunately I noticed and only have an additional 5% but could be misleading to those that don't notice. The place is okay, I wasn't too thrilled about it to be honest. My mother told me about this place and she decided to treat me for my birthday. She said the place was amazing, I want to believe that it was the way the dishes were decorated is what caught her attention, not the food. Although I understand that they were short-staffed, I tell you it took one hour to get our appetizers in, we spent almost 3hrs in this place and it was empty the whole time. Some people that walking in, walked out soon after because there was way too much wait time for everything. Anyway, back to the food, it was ok, it is nicely decorated though. I ordered Ceviche, but it tasted bitter, and like a combination between lime juice that comes in a bottle and bitter lemon juice. I had to eat all because I didn't want to feel bad for my mom, she was excited, I was happy to see her happy. I also ordered octopus causa, which I thought i was going to be filled with octopus, but it was more of a circle shaped potato with some octopus on top. The place has potential, it looks modern and nice and if they improve the service and food, believe me it will be a hit. Also, if its not too much to ask, if you are running a Peruvian restaurant, please PLEASE play Peruvian music, the point is to take clients to taste a bit of the Peruvian culture, why not implement their beautiful music too? I came in to buy something quick to snack on & my mom came in too so she could use the bathroom. The cashier refused to tell her where the bathroom was even after I told him I was buying something. He said, "okay, you can just buy a drink or something." I looked at the menu on the board behind him, looking for a pastelito or something similar. Instead I picked up 2 pieces of cake from the fridge & brought it to the counter. The cashier looked surprised, "both?" and rang me up. I didn't get a chance to touch the cake until ~4 hours later, and you could imagine my disappointment when I realized there was mold on it. Maybe this was just a bad day for them. I found out a new Peruvian restaurant open in the next town and after seeing a photo of what turns out to be Arroz Chaufa I went to check it out. They describe it as Peruvian-style Chinese fired-rice mixed with eggs, peppers, and scallions. Now, what's the connection with the Chinese? Well, it turns out there was large immigration from China arriving in Peru at the beginning of 1849 resulting today in the fusion of Chinese and Peruvian flavors termed 'Chifa'. The staff was really nice and process my order with the add-on of Beef but you can have Chicken or both with this rice. My order of Arroz Chaufa was huge, the take-out comes with the egg intact so you need to mix it into the rice. I found the taste of fresh peppers, and the flavors of the rice were different than your typical Chinese rice because of the spices used but the connection is still there to Chinese style rice. I went with my family, it was 4 of us. Outside looks small, but inside is spacious! The food was delicious! We had rotisserie's chicken with home fries and salad with rice and it was perfection ! Also there lomo saltado and bistec a lo pobre! The portion was perfect! There homemade chicha morada was really refreshing ! I will say there hot sauce wasn't really spicy. My family was looking forward for hot sauce. We do like a lot of spicy, so perhaps it would be good for someone who don't eat spicy at all. But overall it was good. Super friendly staff. My date and I went to his place by calling ahead of time making sure they have an available table, it was Valentine's Day and it was the only place we thought was new in town and we wanted to give it a shot. From the moment we entered until we left it was empty, we thought perhaps it's because the place is still few months new. Service was horrible, the waitress was more focus on her phone than paying attention to the only table she had (us) when took our ordered she didn't not write down anything and messed up my ordered really bad. When she brought the plate to the table I immediately rejected the dish and told her I didn't not order than, and she took it back to the kitchen and brought it back saying they couldn't change it. So I had to order again what o wanted and wait for them to make what I had Initially ordered, my dates food got cold by then. When we are finally going to eat I tried the salad served with the chicken and the salad had a bitter taste, not sure if it was from the dressing or the vegetables. The chaufa had strong finger taste, and the lomo's onions had a strong taste too. Those were all fails. The only thing that I would save as average was the rotisserie chicken taste, but that was what they messed up in my order. I had asked for 1/4 dark and I recibes 1/4 white meat, I ended up reordering 1/4 dark meat and they still charged me for both for their mistake. In normal circumstances I would have called the owner or manager but it was Valentine's and did not want to ruin my date's evening; plus I doubted the owner was there since the staff was horrible. Let me start off by saying if I can rate this place no stars I would but in order to give a review I had to at least choose one star. Today there was an incident where there was a hair in my Child's food, when the incident was brought to the attention of the staff my child was told that "they've never had that happen before" which I can't understand why that would matter if there is a hair in someone's food!! The staff then proceeded to say they can only give back half the money of $10.65 (they gave back $5 in cash the money wasn't even refunded back to my child's card and it wasn't a full 50% refund back) I then called to try to get the issue resolved but received nothing but unprofessionalism and sarcasm from the lady on the phone which was very disappointing. The lady wouldn't even put a manager on the phone and proceeded to tell me that they had the same incident happen before with the same customer which was a total and complete lie because my child along with many of the children in town always go there on their lunch break for years already (that would have been a complaint against her long ago wouldn't you say) anyways I was told by the lady multiple times "it's fine and ok" to whatever I would say along with speaking over me which I am very disappointed by therefore I will be taking other proper measures to get this issue resolved in the proper way!! They've lost valuable costumers in the town which I'm sure they would never care about but it is very disappointing the actions taken (rather lack there of) were so unprofessional!!
