Aux Merveilleux de Fred is a tiny, beautifully fragrant shop on 8th Ave. I ordered the cold brew black and it was one of the smoothest, most satisfying first cups of the day I've had in a long time. Finding genuinely good black cold brew in this city is harder than it should be, and this one hit the spot so perfectly I made a second solo trip before sundown. The chocolate and almond croissant was delicate, flaky, and exactly what a croissant should be. The shop itself is small, no indoor seating, but two benches out front! The staff was warm and the whole place smells incredible the moment you walk in.
