Mushroom Wrap with Sweet Potato Fries
Adi O.

Came here for brunch, there was no wait time so we were happy we got sat right away. I ordered the mushroom wrap served with sweet potato fries & the moment the food hit my taste buds it was a whole fireworks of flavor. It's such a cute spot with great food in the perfect location. Our server was quick, attentive and very nice. (Thank you :)

Arrived 1030am and was seated quickly and order placed timely. Place was clean. Not many tables inside maybe 10-12z they have outdoor seating which I would have gladly taken but was full. Which is always a good sign food must be delish! Once we recieved our food which was hmmm good, it did get busy inside, and this caused us to wait longer then we should have. So couldn't get a second mimosa or coffee, because we needed to pay our check quickly before street cleaner was coming. Anyway side note, We got the ticket but left with our bellies full and happy to have found this lil brunch spot.

I came here on a weekend earlier in the morning and it was pretty quiet and peaceful which was nice. I ordered the golden folded eggs which I'd highly recommend. It was a nice and balanced healthy breakfast with eggs, avocado, kale, mushrooms, and bacon. My favorite were the mushrooms, they were soft and fragrant. The eggs were cooked well too. The staff was nice and very attentive. A great place to stop for an Australian style brunch!

Went on a Saturday afternoon and didn't have to wait - got so lucky. Green juice was refreshing. Has a bigger indoor seating compared to the other location. Banter bowl(salad bowl) was solid. Their grilled chicken was super flavorful. The golden folded egg plate was very filling, a classic dish.

Dropped in for a quick breakfast and it wasn't bad! I got one of the breakfast plates which had a good variety of options. They did a great job with the soft scrambled eggs. A little cramped inside but that's to be expected with this neighborhood. They have a few outdoor tables also.

No reservations! Only walk in! This place is so cute and the food is delicious. This cafe serves really wholesome breakfast dishes like eggs and a literal half of an avocado. The drinks here are also so yummy! Service is awesome, food is good, and this location is near a ton of great spots including the high line so you can walk the brunch off after!

Cute spot to have brunch with the ladies! We visited on a weekday afternoon and we were able to get a table outside with no issue at all. This spot definitely has a very chill, and casual vibe. We didn't feel rushed to leave at any point, and it felt like we could have sat there for hours! Their menu has a lot of nice dishes that can work for both lunch and brunch. Loved the option of getting a side salad with my eggs! :)

The wrap was too heavy with the sauce and very creamy, didn't love it. Fries were a bit soft too. Love the ambiance and great friendly service though!

Nice brunch place, food is yummy and cappuccinos are great. Ordered the golden eggs which comes with mushroom and kale, folded eggs, bacon and a side of toast. It was delicious and the eggs were so fluffy. Service is quick also but can get crowded and loud even on a weekday so difficult to work on a laptop.

Salmon Toast

Food- I had the salmon toast which exceeded my expectations. It was delicious and the fish was fresh and the toast was crunchy 5/5. The breakfast plate was tasty and felt like it came straight off the farm. 5/5 Service- the plates came out extremely fast and the service was great. The staff was attentive and friendly. Overall I was very pleased with my breakfast at banter and I will be back the next time I'm in New York.

These Golden Folded Eggs were everything. Subbed bacon for halumi which was amazing and added a hash brown

The cutest Australian cafe! The golden folded eggs are a must. Almost like an egg croissant with how many folded layers there were. The ambiance is very cozy and has window space to people watch. The service was awesome. Very sweet ladies helped us today.

Bacon Egg Roll

We got seated right away around 1030ish on a Saturday. The space from one table to another is tight but still comfortable. Food was amazing, probably the best brunch place I've had during my visit in the city. I ordered the Bacon Egg Roll, it was very fresh and I could tell that it was prepared with great ingredients. The fries made of sweet potatoes were cooked amazingly. My partner ordered the Fried Chicken Sandwich, the chicken was thinly cut and the breading wasn't thick or overwhelming with right amount of spice and honey. We will definitely go back to this place and highly recommend it.

OJ Iced Latte Fresh Start

Ordered ice latte, oj and the fresh start. All very delish. The oj seemed freshly squeezed and the fresh start tasted like lemonade with a hint of ginger. Got the big banter and the 2 eggs scrambled. It filled us perfectly. I gave my partner my crispy bacon since he wanted to order it as a side but he just took it from mine. Mini hack? First time trying halloumi and it was very salty. Is it suppose to be that way? Everything else was really good. Would come back to try the other dishes. We saw a table next to us have avocado/salmon toasts and they looked worth the price. Portion was huge and didn't skimp like some other places. Place was packed on a Saturday at 130pm. Liked the music selection too. If you don't read any of any of my review, just take this one huge tip, use the yelp waitlist for this place!! I put us on the waitlist 1 train stop away and by time we walked there, our table was ready for us. Walk-ins had a 20 min wait.

I have never seen anything quite like Aux Merveilleux de Fred. What an absolute delight! Not only…read moreare the desserts incredible, but the employees were so friendly and pleasant to deal with as well. The star of the show is, of course, the Merveilleux. It's made with light, airy meringue and whipped cream, then covered in chocolate shavings. It somehow manages to be rich and delicate at the same time. I can see why it's their signature dessert. They offer different flavors and sizes too, from mini versions to larger cakes that are perfect for sharing. One of the coolest parts of visiting is that the kitchen is completely open. You can watch the pastry chefs assembling these beautiful creations right in front of you. It's mesmerizing and makes the whole experience feel special. The bakery has roots in Northern France and Belgium, where the Merveilleux originated, but pastry chef Frédéric Vaucamps reinvented the classic recipe to make it lighter and more modern. Whatever he did worked because these pastries are unforgettable. A quick tip: cash only, so come prepared. Honestly, if you're anywhere nearby, I think you need to run there. Between the amazing desserts, the friendly staff, and the chance to watch everything being made fresh, it's one of the most enjoyable bakery experiences I've had in a long time. I know you won't be sorry!

I came for the pastries and stayed for the cold brew. Then came back for more cold brew later that…read moresame afternoon hehe. Aux Merveilleux de Fred is a tiny, beautifully fragrant shop on 8th Ave. I ordered the cold brew black and it was one of the smoothest, most satisfying first cups of the day I've had in a long time. Finding genuinely good black cold brew in this city is harder than it should be, and this one hit the spot so perfectly I made a second solo trip before sundown. The chocolate and almond croissant was delicate, flaky, and exactly what a croissant should be. The shop itself is small, no indoor seating, but two benches out front! The staff was warm and the whole place smells incredible the moment you walk in. I've already earmarked the Cramique for my next visit, because if it's anywhere near as good as everything else, I'm in trouble. Do yourself a favor and stop in!
