I was looking for a place to eat while getting my car service, and found this gem of a cafe! It is bright and inviting, and there is an extensive menu of juices and smoothies. They also offer sweet and savory pastries, as well as salads, açaí bowls, and toasts. I enjoyed their signature avocado toast with a "green morning" juice. We got a (1) Choconut Bowl Smoothie Bowl and (2) Acai Bowl. The Choconut Bowl was basically all peanut butter, it tasted so much like PB and so thick. Would not get it again. The Acai Bowl was delicious, I loved how tart it was. Everything is made fresh to order, of course. We also got a Caesar Salad and Chicken Tortilla Salad. It is not an easy task to find a really great local juice bar that also sells delicious healthy food. Luckily my search has been over for a few months! I found this place over the summer when I was on my health kick- they started delivery due to covid and it came up on my phone while browsing Uber eats. I have tried quite a few things on their menu and I am always impressed with how fresh and delicious everything is. I always get their immunity shot (concentrated juices) because, ya know, it's good for you. Their smoothies are always perfect. The sandwiches are delicious especially the turkey and their bowls seem like they are always made with love. If you are in the area, I highly suggest giving this place a try, you will not be disappointed, I promise! read more

Called to order a gluten free bagel with egg and cheese and was told I could not order that specific bagel with egg and cheese. No explanation. I asked for the gluten free bagel with an egg on the side. Was also told no without explanation. Ok so I ordered the gluten free bagel and a regular bagel with egg and cheese but can you put the egg in the side. I'm thinking I'll give away the bagel and put the egg on the gluten free bagel. Told me to hold on and came back on the phone and was also told no they can't do that either. Instructions from the manager Esme. I didn't get to take a photo of the PB Açaí bowl because my boyfriend devoured it when it got here lol but I got the bacon egg and cheese on an everything bagel and iced coffee with oat milk and caramel. Brand new place in North Bergen is yet another Yelp discovery from my daughter. Sought an acai bowl. Lovely place is bright and very clean. I really like this place! It's clean and their delivery service is fast. I have ordered from here over 5 times and been inside once. I like their coffee and the croissant sandwiches are really yummy. The only CON i have with this place is they are skimpy on the food. Like if you order a croissant with bacon it's like little tiny half pieces of bacon. I ordered a tuna sandwich today and the bread was kind of hard and the amount of tuna was so little for $9.75. If the business owner is reading this please don't skimp out your customers on what they are paying for, other than that i will continue to come back for the coffee Atleast! read more

Shaky's is a true GEM! They make incredibly tasty food with many healthy options at great prices. I am still munching on the delicious ham & cheese croissant and sipping the milkshake that I got as I am typing this. It was my first time ordering from this place (viva la UberEats.) This is the best place in town, specially if you care about quality. I love everything in their menu. The sandwiches and shakes are good here. The in door atmosphere here is extremely loud. I was trying to have a relaxing lunch with my five month old son and have to leave due to the extremely loud music blasting at 10:30 AM here. Very frantic atmosphere. I asked them to turn it down and basically they wouldn't.even worse I waited over ten minutes for tuna sandwich I didn't get to eat . Clearly outside orders were being prioritized. Bathroom The bathroom is for customers only, and you get the code from within. It's a GORGEOUS bathroom, well-kept. There are public restrooms outside of the establishment that are not that great, but if you don't want to buy something make sure to have some hand sanitizer with you. They're clearly the park's bathrooms and not the establishments responsibility. Seating There is no seating indoors, which is a bummer. I would love to enjoy the atmosphere of this park some more from inside. Especially on a hot summer day, I'm in no mood to get burned by the metal chairs overlooking the lake. Needless to say, the views are stunning even while just waiting for our food to be ready! Park Itself I haven't experienced this park in full depth as much as I want to because like I said, there's no seating inside. There is small walking trails, but whenever we go, weather is not on our side. The first time we came here, it started raining and we created an in-car theatre instead which was lovely! But in general, after that, and since it's been diabolically hot ever since we've always took our meals back into the car. There are cars driving up at the bottom of the park, right next to Playa Bowls. It caught me off-guard, so if you're with kids or pets be sure to keep an eye out for them. Selection I love the fact that there is something so healthy to eat in a gorgeous spot! There is a HUGE selection, and I love being able to try a new bowl each time. My favorite so far has been the Pink Flamingo. It is a cold treat, so it is perfect on a hot summer day! Be mindful that protein powder can give some people an upset stomach or the runs, and if you're sensitive, I suggest trying a bowl that doesn't include that. Each item lists ingredients, and you can customize it to your needs. I have not been able to finish a full bowl myself, and get full off of 3/4 of it. My man has finished his and whatever is left over of mine. It is satisfying for a big burly man like himself though. Other Notable Mentions The establishment also has a bowl of water of dogs walking through the park if they need a quick drink, which I think is the sweetest thing ever! There's also a Cuban coffee shop, Rumbas Cafe, right across from Playa Bowls. I haven't been in it myself yet, but I did try one of the coffees my man ordered himself briefly one day. Overall I hope to see some indoor seating open up soon. There is an upstairs, but supposedly it's locked to the public still. Crossing my fingers that it's in the works! Everyone who works here is really nice, and our food is always done quite quickly. The shop is well-lit and has AC. Great park for photo ops, walking, dates, and/or family-time. Well-thought out location for a great treat!

If an ingredient is listed in the description, I expect to actually receive it, and if you make a mistake, at least own it and apologize. This was not worth the money at all (was in total $18) Definitely my first and LAST time coming to this Playa Bowls location. Do better.
