Arepas, pan con queso, pan debuono

I actually visit this small bakery on a daily basis. The staff is great, very friendly, and nothing but genuine smiles are seen when you enter. The coffee is fresh $1.00(love it), fresh bread (a loaf is $2.50) and made to order ($1) empanadas! I don't think there is any other restaurant in the area where you can buy coffee for one buck.. Beware when you go during school lunch time and dismissal OMG.... It can get very crowded with a bunch of high schoolers mobbing the place. They open their doors at 6:00 a.m. so don't be surprised if you see me on the line... Hahaha

Beef empanadas, Buñuelos, pan de queso, pan de bono , arepa de choclo, and chorizo!!!

I love this place - it was very good and worth the drive !!! I love how every thing was $1 - I know unbelievable--- The pan de bono was nice and cheesy and not too doughy ... The pan de queso was cheesy as well no complaints! The buñuelos were good as well it took me back to my childhood when my grandma used to make them!!! The beef empanadas !!! Were crispy and meaty - for some reason a lot of Colombian restaurants stuff the empanadas with potatoes so it's more like potato empanadas and not beef!!! But not this place!!! The chorizo I might say I wasn't too crazy about - it tasted like hot dogs ! The arepa de choclo was very tasty ! Everything was fresh and will come AGAIN!!!

Good Lord This was good. Hidden Gem in the cut..

My uncle brought me in today because he swears by this place and gets excited to go before work each day. As soon as you walk in the smell and the aroma immediately smacks you in the face. The staff are friendly and the bakery is intimate in its design. When you enter, you're greeted by cakes and cookies and a variety of selections. Def worth stopping by!

I went here last year around Thanksgiving as I have been a big fan of this bakery for many years. I actually drive almost 30 minutes for treats to bring my family for the holidays. It was busy when I went in and a I waited in line for my turn. Once the man in front of me ordered, and the young blonde girl behind the counter called next, I went to place my order and the man in front of me mistakenly thought he could have her do the rest of his order. I still tried to get her attention, but she refused to even look at me. Here I will note that I look very different from the other patrons in the bakery at the time... take that for what it's worth. The other workers saw this happening, and didnt acknowledge how I was being ignored by this girl. The middle aged woman who works there, who I have bought from for years, then went to help the person after me... what kind of service is that? The crazy thing is the man in front of me even apologized for what he did because he was confused by what was going on, and the middle aged women STILL DID NOT HELP ME. I always thought she was a manager or owner... perhaps she doesn't like people with my skin color. Who knows. Finally, after an upsetting amount of time where I was feeling humiliated, a brown haired girl (with absolutely great eye makeup said she would help me). Good to know one decent person works there. I used to go there regularly when I worked in the area and stopped going as often, but I will never go again and have stopped recommending it to others. For the area, there are plenty of bakeries without people like this blonde girl, who would love to have a diverse group clientele who doesn't look just like them :) Avoid this place if you don't want to be treated like a second class citizen. The way I was treated was disgusting and shameful.

The shop is small with limited places to hang out -- there's a small counter where you can stand and sip your coffee. Otherwise, they have a few small tables outside. There's a second room which has cute merch and a fridge with additional cold beverages for sale. I tried the vanilla latte and took home some treats! The spinach handpie - basically a spinach/cheese breakfast pastry, the cinnamon roll (to die for!! It was fluffy and sweet but not overly sweet like other places are), and a pumpkin cheesecake bar with pomegranate seeds. What I really like about Erie is that they make all these delicious treats and once they are sold out, they're sold out. They don't make more for the rest of the day and they don't waste food. It's always fresh!

Our area has no shortage of bakeries but those of us that have sampled a number of them realize, there are truly ones that stand out from the rest. Erie Coffee Shop & Bakery is one of those bakeries! Cute old school bake shop. Really nice and professional staff. I went in trying to be "good" and not some out with a lot. Easier said than done in this bake shop. Everything looks amazing! I asked for recommendations and left with the citrus olive oil cake, chocolate chip cookie, almond cookie, and a Madeleine. Within a couple of hours, I devoured the citrus olive oil cake. Absolutely perfect! Hint of citrus and just the right amount of moist. Also, the perfect size to feel fulfilled without feeling overly guilty. Later that night, I went for the almond cookie. Amazing texture, truly better than any almond horn I've had. The next day, I broke a piece off of the chocolate chip cookie that we got for our daughter. Perfect cookie. Then I reached for the madeleine, better than any literary device I've ever had! Transported me to my couch, where I speechlessly consumed it with some tea! Awesome! I'll be back!
