I ordered the 'Coquito iced latte', a guava & queso pastry, and a 'Coquito Tres Leches'...all 'To Go'. Let me just start by saying that the 'Tres Leches Coquito' should be Illegal of how Good it is. The coquito latte is SO much better iced as traditional coquito is enjoyed as a chilled drink; definitely recommend, it was so delicious. Also tried the Cuban sandwich, as I ordered it I was asked what kind of cheese I wanted, which I thought was strange because a classic Cuban comes with Swiss cheese, if you put any other cheese on it, it's not a Cuban sandwich. Nonetheless the sandwich was tasty, but it could use a little less salt. A family member ordered the alcapurrias & yuca relleno to share. The yuca relleno was tasty & the alcapurria was better than my first visit here but could use a bit less salt. Sorrullos & guava quesito were yummy, definitely a favorite here along with the iced coquito latte. Overall, food was pretty good, a bit on the saltier side, but not too over salted that it would've made it inedible. Ambience was a laid-back. We did have to ask for the AC to be turned down a bit because it was so warm inside, I was sweating & that didn't make it a comfortable visit for a dine in experience. Finally , had a chance to try this place out after it was recommended to me by a friend. I ordered the coquito latte with oatmilk, it comes topped with whipped cream, coconut, flakes and cinnamon.But since i'm lactose intolerant i skipped the whipped cream and I am not a big fan of coconut flakes or too much cinnamon , so I skipped that as well. The drink was still very good and I really enjoyed the coffee flavor, it was a bit sweet so I'm wondering if that could be controlled next time. The breakfast sandwich was pretty basic , but still good. You had a choice of Mayo butter or garlic sauce, which I wasn't sure about.But I feel like it could use another component even if it was ketchup. Visited on a Saturday. There was a line out of the door to get in. Luckily we were able to find parking right out front. We waited about 15 minutes before we could place our order. I ordered a sandwich and a smoothie. I got my smoothie first which was good. The sandwich was also good. My only critique is that the sandwich was saltier than I would have liked. Very flavorful but it may have been the pork that had too much salt. This may also just be my palate so try it for yourself. The restaurant is decorated so cute and they added touches that truly remind you of Puerto Rico. The employees were all so nice and friendly and were very interested in receiving feedback on the food. I loved everything about this place and I am not just saying this because I am Puerto Rican and I LOVE to support! I truly did enjoy everything about what I ate at this cute little spot. The sandwich, definitely reminded me of something I would get in PR. Super simple yet super delicious. It was perfect. The coquito latte.. it was amazing lol. Coquito is a big deal for us Puerto Ricans and that latte definitely did not disappoint. I feel like it would only be a Puerto Rican to do it perfectly the way this place did it! Lol. The tembleque was super ricooo! & so was the sorullo with guava and cheese. I honestly would have tried everything if I could! Everything was just simply delicious. Ive been here twice with my Mom who is born and raised in Puerto Rico. We LOVE this place. It gets packed on the weekends but the staff is very friendly, the line moves fairly quickly, and the authentic Puerto Rican selections are truly exceptional. I've tried both the San Sebastián (chicken) and the Tripleta (steak, chicken, and ham with their special sauce) and they're both top 3 sandwiches I've ever had. Each one is bursting with flavor and comes on this delicious bread that's pressed and crispy. This is me and my wife's favorite cafe and spot to go to for lunch. The service is always outstanding and even when they are out of ingredients they will go the extra mile and ask you what you like and then whip up a personalized coffee just for you. We spoke a bit about the restaurant and the food they offered! It's actually two different restaurants owned by the same people; one is this cafe, the other is a full blown restaurant. I finally got my sandwich today ! I ordered a tripleta and the sandwich was fresh and made by the order so make sure you give them time to make. The meat was slightly salty but it could've been the bite I had as not all bites came off as salty. The sandwich overall is a 4.5/5. The sauce gives it an excellent balance to the amount of meat that's inside . It's perfectly wrapped in aluminum foil and served with some platano chips. I also got another quesito with guava which was an absolute favorite of mine . It gives a not too sweet taste and balanced with cheese/guava. I will return as I love to support Puerto Rican Restaurants. I recommend coming during the week as the weekends are packed ! The cafe is beautifully decorated to remind you of the island. This is a great cafe that appears to be family owned. It is Puerto Rican, I believe. I love the ambiance inside: they have the Latin music playing and a cool dominoes table you can sit/play at. The staff works super hard: I went on a Friday afternoon I believe and saw the same team on Saturday morning the next day. They are very busy on Saturdays, as they also serve food. My wife liked her lattes and my cafe con leche also hit the spot -- the right amount of milk and coffee. It's also very close to a library and park -- also walkable from there. Parking is a little tight in front but seems you can find a spot if you're patient. Nice hidden gem in Clifton near where my mom lives.
