This little diner is so cute! The staff was really kind and the food came out hot and quick. I am a picky eater with a basic palate so I got the eggs and sausage and it was really good. My partner got the Spanish steak and the rice and beans were so yummy! Great find, we def would come back on our way through!

This was a Indian restaurant since 1986. I was talking to the owner when I was in suffern a few weeks ago. He said they decided to switch over to being a diner. Because of the changing demographics in the area. Suffern hasn't had a diner in the downtown for over 15 years. I went in with a friend after a matinee film at the beautiful Lafayette Theatre up the street. They have a good selection of breakfast items. Raps burgers Panini's for lunch. I decided to get the cheesesteak sandwich with onions and mushrooms. It came out and looked very nice. Real slices of steak inside the fresh soft lightly toasted roll. I opted to try waffle french fries instead of the regular french fries for an up charge of $1.50. The steak was very flavorful and juicy cooked perfectly. The waffle fries were crispy and had a good potato taste inside. Service was very efficient and friendly. This is a great addition to the downtown. Definitely come here and grab some breakfast lunch or one of the dinner entrées.

We're having dinner in one of the booths near the bar.

Avoid. Really not.worth it. Poor service and mediocre food add up to a "meh" to a "-meh" experience.

An absolutely incredible dining experience from start to finish. What really sets this place apart…read moreis the feeling it gives you. It never feels like just dinner -- it feels like home. The ambiance is beautiful, the energy is warm, and everything about the experience feels elevated without feeling pretentious The appetizers set the tone perfectly -- the calamari, stone crab legs, and cold seafood tower were all fresh and delicious. The steaks are prime aged and cooked to perfection; I had the bone-in filet medium rare and it was butter-soft and melt-in-your-mouth tender. The sides were just as impressive -- crisp, well-seasoned asparagus, a rich and creamy lobster mac and cheese, and hash browns pounded thin and pan fried to a perfect crisp. For dessert, my server recommended the Grand Slam Cracker Gelato, a hidden gem I had never experienced before -- truly out of this world. Speaking of my server, Eden (yes, like the garden) was an absolute standout. From the moment he greeted us with a warm smile and bubbly energy, you could tell he genuinely loves what he does. He was attentive, outgoing, and made excellent recommendations throughout the meal. When I was torn between two wine options, he insisted I try both to make sure I was happy with my choice -- that kind of thoughtfulness goes a long way. He went above and beyond in every sense, and I highly recommend asking for him by name on your next visit. I'm a regular here and every visit reminds me why. Hands down one of the best Italian food and steak in the Jersey area -- you simply can't beat it.

We started out with Martinis- Passionfruit and Pear. Both were excellent. In fact, we couldn't figure out which one we like better. The passionfruit had a lot of bouncy personality, while the pear wasn't overly sweet, but very mellow. A basket of delicious sourdough and cranberry and walnut bread was brought to the table. Entrées consisted of Filet Mignon Medallions with Grilled Shrimp and Chicken Parmesan. The food was excellent and beautifully presented. Dessert was perfection! Yummy Chocolate Strawberries and Zabaglione. Overall service was great. Parking is all valet.

The food is still great. We had scallops, chorizo, brussels sprouts, and a flounder ceviche special. Everything was delicious. The ceviche in particular stood out -- fresh, well-portioned, and nicely "cooked" in lime juice. The sangria is still a highlight too. A big carafe, no ice watering it down, served with glasses full of fruit. The problem is the service. They had two servers and one bus person, and it showed. Everyone seemed to be scrambling, and it was hard to get a moment of attention to ask for anything or even be heard. Our food came out in pieces -- three items, then a long delay, then another. The last dish, calamari, never came. When I tried to tell the waiter we didn't want it anymore if it was forgotten, he didn't listen and insisted on bringing it anyway. We ended up waiting even longer, which just made the experience more frustrating. To top it off, they're now adding an operating/service fee (around 3-4%), which wasn't clearly communicated and just showed up on the bill. It's disappointing because the food is still very good, but the service issues -- and now the added fees -- are taking away from the experience. After this visit, we'll think twice before coming back.

The Rhino Comedy Club in Suffren, New York is a gem…read more I've been doing open-mic standup comedy there for about 10 months as well as other venues. Rhino Comedy is the best place I've been and I keep going back It's a semi-small club but can hold about 30 people. Open-mics are pretty packed and usually 15-25 comedians perform. There are also always a few paying guests who go just to watch. If you want to PRACTICE your ACT, Rhino is the place to go. Standup comedy is an art form that can't exist without an AUDIENCE and you get at Rhino, always. There's a comedy contest once a month. If you win you get paid to perform on a Saturday night. The staff are all very friendly and local. The owner, Maria, knows her stuff and is nurturing to new talent. Rhino also offers comedy classes if you want to attend before you try going up yourself or you just want to hone your skills. There is always ample parking on the street, 22 Lafayette Ave, never further than a 1 minute walk to Rhino. The outside of the club is small and unassuming but once you go up the stairs, the club opens up and the atmosphere is impressive and beautiful. Inside Rhino, all the walls are various hues of purplish and red. There are paintings and murals of Rhinoceri. Fantastic music: jazzy funky covers of famous songs you'll download from itunes after. The bathrooms are spotless and and fresh. Pleasure. At the bar there's beer, cocktails, coffee, etc. Affordable, tasty and generous portions of foods: mozzarella sticks, salads, pizzas, pigs in a blanket, buffalo wings, etc. all baked in a home oven. Free popcorn. Cute shiny little retro red refrigerator behind the bar. Small bar stools while you are waiting to perform or socialize after the show. If you're an aspiring standup comedian or want to watch some good comedy, GO here! -Open mics every Thursday at 8pm. Also Saturday after the main show at 10:00pm! Thanks Rhino!

We decided to check it out for Breakfast. The seating is really unique, all with rounded "C" shaped white booths. There weren't many people in the restaurant (only one other group of people), so the hostess (who was also our waitress) told us to sit wherever we would like. The menu is a little limited, but that is to be expected. The waitress (Jodi) informed us that they just revamped their menu as of last week. Jodi was super kind, very friendly, and went above and beyond for us. She always made sure to top off on our coffee/juice/water. She also gave us a lot of extras (free of charge) which was very kind and appreciated! I was pleasantly surprised by my french toast's presentation (it looked/tasted delicious!) The only minor complaint I have is that there were a lot of small fruit flies/gnats flying around the table/during our meal. Jodi even told us we could fill up our coffee before we left with to-go cups (which we did since we weren't checking out for another hour or so). She was the best!!
