    Waiting for the show
    Daniel M.

First time here this past weekend and all I can say is boy I wish we found it sooner. It's located on a main street with lots of restaurants to pick from before the show. You walk up a flight of stairs to a very cool entrance and then into the bar/waiting area. The over all ambiance is rustic old theater. There is an old fashioned popcorn machine and the popcorn is free. They are showing different shows streamed on the wall overhead. There is a small cozy bar that offers many options. Once we entered the main stage area we sat on comfortable chairs and watched an awesome show. The comedians were fantastic and the show great. If you want an intimate experience and you want a laid back night you have to check this place out. The ticket price was $15.00 per person and all the workers were friendly and accommodating. Can't wait to go back. Thanks

About the open mic, is it open to anyone who takes the stage?

Hi Michael! Performers sign up before the show, either online or at the box office. If we run out of room, we start a waitlist. Each performance slot is 5 mins. One slot per performer per show.

I started taking improv classes with them and they are better than when I took them in the city.

During this visit, I ordered the following: Grand Margarita (Mi Campo Blanco Tequila, fresh lime juice, agave nectar). This Margarita was VERY GOOD and served in a large glass. I also ordered the Key Lime Pie dessert (key lime filling, graham cracker crust, whipped cream, sugar-dipped lime). I enjoyed every spoonful of this dessert. Every layer was mouth-watering and the graham crust was the perfect bottom layer to make this delectable. ORDER IT! If you haven't experienced Mark Viera, please see him when he returns. He had the entire club in stitches and sells out every performance. I will gladly continue to return to Levity Live and I think it's one of the best comedy clubs in the tri-state area.

On this specific date, I was fortunate enough to see the comedic icon, Eddie Griffin. As anticipated, he did a spectacular job of keeping the crowd entertained and laughing the entire time. I was seated at a table that provided a great, close view of him. The visit was well worth it. Given that this establishment is a comedy club, there is a two-item minimum requirement. You have the option to choose between alcoholic drinks, soft drinks, or even food to meet the requirement. I'd like to note that it took a long time to receive my two drinks. They were both delivered in the middle portion of Eddie Griffin's act. The delay could have been due to a heavy crowd for the evening, not enough staff members, etc. Overall, West Nyack Levity Line is a standard hub for hosting great comedians and bringing the New York community together.

I've never been to the Stress Factory before but it merits a return visit. The ticket prices were reasonable, there is a parking garage right next to the venue and plenty of restaurants to grab a bite before the show. They require you to purchase 2 items during the show, but you can get a bottle of water and something else. I had a yummy lemon drop martinis (ok, I had 2) and some candied nuts (warm and freshly roasted). They also have plenty of food and desserts. The servers really hustle and are adept at maneuvering through the crowd to keep you hydrated and fed. Apparently, when it's warmer out, they have a bar area outside before the show. Good times! Go with friends and laugh your ass off!

It is a highly respected comedy club that has hosted many of the greats, some of which are pictured along their walls. Prior to this visit, I had tickets to see Charlie Murphy around 2014, and I can say he was genuinely funny. I was recently there on Wednesday Jan 14th for their New Talent Showcase and truly enjoyed myself. The comedians were all so different but the lineup didn't feel choppy and thrown together. There were a lot of first timers that really had the crowd on their feet by the end of their set. I know the Stress Factory is known for their big names, but the New Talent Showcase is something special. It felt like a poetry slam night but for comedians. There was a sense of community, no heckling, all love. The service was great. We moved from one table to another on the opposite side of the stage, yet there was no hiccup in our service. Our server was super nice, and our appetizers hit the table pretty quickly. I ordered chicken quesadillas and a sampler that included mozzarella cheese, chicken fingers, and curly fries. Everything was good thankfully since I came straight from work and was starving. Lastly, I had a German draft beer to wash it all down. It was a good night!

This is a Must every time we come to NYC, and we have shared the experience with friends, who end up loving it as much as we do. We've been to different time shows and no matter which it's always a great time. All comedians performing always bring their A-Game and have us laughing all night long. To the point that we are repeating jokes the next day and still laughing. You get to see at least 5 different comedians, and sometimes even "bigger names" show up trying out new material, or just because they're in town. Reservations are really recommended, especially if you are visiting, as it does get sold out, and even thought there's a wait-list line, it get's sold out quick and not guaranteed you will get in. And, believe me, this is not something you want to miss. I just got back and can't wait for my next time there!

A guy at the door said people usually line up a little before one hour before the show to get on the list and staff members come at one hour before. I got in line (first in line lol) at 9p and people really started lining up around ~930p. The staff came around 945 to allow us to scan the QR code (must present ID) to reserve a spot in line. You only need one person per party to scan the QR code. He told us to come back at 1045 (no need to be in an ordered line) to see if our names would be called. After they let in people with reservations they returned to the standby line. I'd say maybe ~12 people got in that time. The staff member said people usually have more standby success for later shows. THE SHOW: The show was spectacular. They understandably ask that you put your phones or Apple Watches in a sealed envelope that you keep with you during the show. We saw five acts - 3 were strong, 2 were weaker. The weaker 2 didn't bomb but we just didn't enjoy as much. There is a cover charge + 2 item minimum per person. The item can be food or a nonalcoholic beverage, so no worries if you don't drink alcohol. Service was good. It's a cramped space but not uncomfortable and I think there's really no bad seat in the house. Such a fun night. :)
