    Omelet and home fries

I ordered door dash so can't speak to service or atmosphere BUT I scarfed this omelet down ! WOW I got it with cheese, garlic & onions - rye toast and home fries . I had an evening time craving for an omelet and this did not disappoint!

This diner is the epitome of size doesn't matter. A tiny diner with a handful of tables and booths but the environment could not have been cozier. The staff was fantastic, it was beautifully decorated for the holidays and the food was great. Typical diner menu but with a few great standouts. I ordered the crab cake Benedict which was huge and delicious. Everything was quick, friendly and decently priced. I am not generally a diner fan but this one makes it clear why it's voted as a top 5 diner in NJ. It lives up to the hype and very few places generally do.

I can see why this is regarded as one of the top diners in Nj Visited on a random weekday and was pleasantly surprised. Not only is the service good but for a small diner, it was clean and the food tasted fantastic. The food came out super fast as you would expect for a diner, the meatloaf tasted really good and was cooked to perfection, the asparagus was delicious but the potato's were a tiny bit bland. The chicken sandwich was good, the fries and onions rings were surprisingly good. I would most definitely stop by for a quick bite whenever I'm in the area.

A fun find -- We were coming from Sandy Hook when we wanted to stop for dinner. As this place had good reviews, we stopped in (public parking across the street) and were seated in a cute booth. The servers were jolly and our food came out quickly after hot teas that we ordered. The nachos grande was good, as was the Greek salad (I removed the bread), and my husband had the club sandwich. There was a fun mix of oldies on as we ate and there were fun style elements to give the place an older vibe. There's even a statue of Elvis playing guitar outside.

Great little diner. The food is great and service was awesome. We order French vanilla hot coffee (so good I don't need sugar), the Elvis French toast and Broad street waffle breakfast sandwich with home fries. Everything was fresh and so yummy. We will be back!

Ambience was great. Love the old school feel with lots of nostalgic pics. Menu was awesome with lots of options and even some funky choices. Service was great despite it being a packed Saturday late morning. My wife ordered a Texas toast grilled cheese with pork roll which was really good. I ordered the James dean wrap which was sausage, bacon, eggs, cheese and tomatoes. I'm unsure if it was my taste or something else but I tasted chemicals when I ate it. Since I'm not in the business of sending food back I opted to eat 1/2 and take the rest home. My wife really enjoyed her food.

They say they're the best diner in NJ. I'll let you decide. The railroad size building takes me back to years gone by. The decor is really retro, some with pictures of Keyport from the turn of the 20th century. There's about 15 tables and 10 stools. The food came out quickly exactly as ordered. Service is decent and friendly. You should note the hours they are open: Sunday thru Friday 8-3pm. Saturday 8-8pm. Hmm. If you commute to the city, you won't be having breakfast here. It's a minor inconvenience. I didn't get a chance to ask why the shortened hours, especially for a diner. Prices are reasonable and free parking is best across the street.

    Overcooked Broad Street Omelette

I am giving it a 4 because my friend loved his luncheon special (Guido Burger & fries, with a split pea soup for starters) but I was not particularly impressed with my Broad Street Omelet. His split pea soup was thick and tasty. The Guido Burger was a large piece of chopped meat smothered in Swiss cheese and pastrami. He loved his lunch. My omelet had potential as it was extremely large but it came out well done and I have no idea why unless that's how they do all the omelets. Our server was OK but not great--I had to hunt them down for a coffee refill. Also, the gyro meat was pretty bland. The veggies in the omelet were well-cooked and tasty. The place looks like a throwback to a 50s diner. Love the Elvis statue outside and the memorabilia inside. Very impressive and customer friendly young man (probably the manager) at the cash register. I'd go back but not for an omelet.

Who doesn't love a solid diner? Especially one that has the "old-school" vibes. Broad St is small and has the quintessential red seats and silver tables with fun pictures on the walls. Because it's small it gets busy fast, so we got there right when it opened at 8am which was smart. I love a diner that has a make-your-own omelet option so I went that route. My omelet was huge and very filling. My only criticism is I prefer my veggies/ingredients inside to be more chopped up - there were huge chunks of everything. The breakfast potatoes were delicious - nicely seasoned, though a huge portion! I could only eat about half of my breakfast because it was so much!

    Yes

How is the Wi-Fi here? Would it be a good spot to get some work done?

Not really a good environment for working. It is a very small diner inside. Excellent diner, food, service, and eating experience, but for working I would say no.

Why the hate for this spot?…read more Is it fancy? Hell no, but that's the point. Up the creek is a no-frills hybrid sports-dive-bayside bar that serves up cheap food, cheap drinks, and cheap company, in the best possible way. You're not coming here to be fancy, you're coming to watch the Mets, Yankees, Giants, or Jets on one of the huge TVs they have everywhere, while sucking down 3$ beers, and when the time calls for it, a porkroll* with cheese on a roll and an order fries. You can choose the bar, a high top, or the outdoor bar when the weather is nice enough (you'll always find me at the bar). There are some stairs to get up here, but you'll be rewarded with a view of the marina...and route 35....and if you look hard enough the parkway....ok there are stairs that lead up to a bar, that's all you gotta know. It's the perfect spot to catch the game and hang with the locals. Come in, say hey to Linda, and drink enough that you need some greasy food to make everything feel better. Staff were beyond friendly. Cons -- THE FOOD!! We had pork belly and duck confit appetizer. Pork belly was drenched in sauce and overcooked. Duck dish was good but was a spread and served with such a small amount of bread. Main courses -- presentation was terrible -- i ordered NY Strip with french fries and veggies. Hubby ordered jambalaya -- both dishes were served luke warm and looked as though they had been sitting. French fries were all tiny pieces as if they were at the bottom of the fryer. The steak was a poor cut. The jambalaya lacked flavor. The protein on the dish was all overcooked. Dessert THE Elvis -- sounded sooo delicious but was basically a spoonful of peanut butter. Even the ice cream they served with it could not drown out the overpowering peanut butter flavor. I did enjoy the cappuccino. We were there to celebrate my husband's birthday and he didn't even eat his meal. It was that bad. Sadly, one and done for us. I know they changed their menu so perhaps this is not their best lineup but I cannot forgive the terrible presentation. The price point for what they are presenting its insane.
