Love coming here for lunch. Whenever I'm in the mood for Thai food on a weekday you can find me here. The lunch special comes with an egg roll, soup or salad, and entree. I ordered the mixed vegetables with chicken (chop suey) and it was fantastic. The egg rolls are crunchy and the sweet sauce they come with make you want to order more. I also like to get a Thai tea or Thai iced coffee to go which isn't too sweet. You also can't go wrong with the noodles especially their pad Thai. We just tried The Basil for the first time tonight and had a wonderful meal! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is clean and inviting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was warm and friendly, and everything we ate was great! Egg rolls (5) were good. Tom Yum soup was delicious. The broth was great, with lots of vegetables. The Panang Curry with chicken was smooth and spicy. The Chicken Pad Thai was balanced and the noodles were great! Everything was piping hot and came out quickly. Delighted to say that we have found our new go-to Thai spot

The best Thai for your buck in the South Bay area. The prices are not ridiculous - they even have good $12 lunch specials. But the execution & flavors of their dishes are on par with the fancy schamncy spots. By far my favorite dish is their Drunken Noodles with Tofu - always super flavorful, aromatic, and spicy. I do eat meat but the texture of the tofu is great with the noodles. Another standout is their spicy eggplant with tofu - not oily or overcooked and very yummy. The pad see ew and wonton soup were not bad, just basic. And I was sad that they forgot the bok choy in our soup. Hits the spot if you're craving it though. Most of their stir fried dishes have a lot of smoky undertones. I enjoy it but it might be overpowering for others (like my noodle loving toddler who surprisingly rejected the pad see ew). When you dine in, they are super accomodating for little ones. Cute little reusable cups, special utensils and very clean high chairs. Love how spacious the place is inside and the team is super welcoming and attentive.

The food taste was ok. Not the best ever, but good for the price. However I had two issues. One is that the Medium curry they gave us had the chili paste at the bottom of the container and it hasn't been stirred in yet. So at first it was very mild, then we noticed, stired it and then enjoyed what we ordered. Next time please stir the spice into the food. But the biggest thing is that the rice portion they gave us for takeout was ridiculously small. Smalest rice container over ever seen. In 40 plus years on the planet I didn't know a rice container this small existed. I was this many days old. It also makes no sense because rice is so cheap, just give a normal sized rice and don't be so chintzy. I might come back but will probably look for other places too.

Lunch menu states different prices and it's really higher cost when you pay. Portion of food is like a kids meal.

A portion of white rice that is so tiny, that the container fits INSIDE a 1 cup measuring cup.

Extremely small portions for the price. I have never seen such a tiny portion of white rice with a curry. About enough for 4 big bites? I have had many family dinners at this restaurant over decades, but recent changes have made this delivery order ridiculous. Very disappointed, because while the food is delicious the portions for delivery are laughable.

So, I've been coming to this location since 1997. I bought an old school discount book and Thai Basil was in it. I got hooked on Pad See Ewe (that's my favorite Thai dish). My family would come on Sunday's after church and enjoy dinner. The owner and his family would also be in the dining room enjoying their meal. My kids loved the cashew shrimp and fried rice. Though I have continued to visit throughout the years, the restaurant has now changed ownership. On the positive side, the portions are good and the value is good. The food has changed. The Pad See Ewe was tasty but super oily. They use to have chips with sweet and sour sauce- they don't have this anymore so I ordered the fried wontons. The wontons were super greasy as if they did not drain the oil before plating them. The sweet and sour sauce is a different color too. I just wish the Pad See Ewe tasted the same. The service is still good and the restaurant has had some simple upgrades. Not sure if I will be back. Maybe just for the nostalgia of what was- Family, Food and A Full Heart.

Met my GF for lunch and everything was delicious as Always!!!!! My allergies/sinuses have been kicking my butt and TOM YUM soup always helps me feel better, don't even have to have meat , the broth ,veggies and spices are soooooo flavorful and cooked perfectly!!' Yellow curry is divine and I got extra potatoes, Shrimp rolls, chicken satay, YUM!!!!!! I have tried many different Thai restaurants in different cities, states and besides this one only one that's on same level is in Manhattan NY!!! They use white breast meat in all recipes, Top quality beef, pork and shrimp and authentic Thai spices!!!!! It's worth the drive from Buena Park!!!!!!! Our go-to Thai food place for YEARS! It was Thai Basil before. It's so good my kids are asking for Thai for weekly! The food is deliciously consistent and the portions generous. We've always done take out from them so we're happy to continue to support them during covid (and not have to cook a meal or two). The pricing is reasonable and the food is quick to pick up. Our favorite picks include the Pad See Ew, Pai Thai, Panang Curry, Spicy Beef Salad, BBQ pork fried rice, Combo Fried Rice. The noodles and like many of their other dishes you can choose chicken, beef, pork, shrimp, tofu, and even any combination of the proteins. Just know you get one protein and there's a surcharge for extra. But it's worth it when you have a craving. We've typically gone with chicken or beef, and would occasionally add tofu. The cubed tofu are always nicely browned, lightly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The kids enjoy it too! The portions are always big enough that we have food leftover for either lunch or part of dinner the next day. My only complaint is that the combo fried rice has so little shrimp...they do state 2pc of shrimp on their menu, so at least they're setting expectations early. Thinking of their food makes me want to place an order now. Drool! read more

I'm so happy Thai Basil revamped themselves into the new The Basil! The website was so streamlined and easy to order from and the inside looks so fresh and new. The outside NEEDS a makeover! The food was amazing! I was so impressed with everything we ordered. The orange chicken tasted like actual oranges it was, tangy sweet and spicy! I was obsessed with the honey shrimp! The pineapple fried rice was on point, and the yellow curry was rich and creamy with the perfect amount of spice. The kids loved the dumplings and noodles. We ordered so much food so we could try everything and I thought the price was very reasonable! I do hope they give the outside some love so that they make the shopping center nicer and they get more foot traffic. read more

I'm really sad guys. Every time I come here, it's like the food changes. I ordered my favorite curry -- Mussaman-- and it did not taste that great as usual. I don't know what changes have been made but it's not the same as it used to be. I've been coming here since I was 10 years old - 28 now! Some of my favorite yellow curry and pad thai around! I always get the peanut sauce to add to my noodles. They always remember to fry the tofu when I put it in the description. I usually doordash but I walked in the other day and it was so nice inside! My only wish would be to have a little more rice come with the curry. read more

Don't come here if you like getting the best bang for your buck. It was my first time here today and I got the panang curry lunch special to-go. It came out to $7.50 with tax which is average priced so I expected an average portion meal. However, the portions were so skimpy. The curry came with about 6 pieces of chicken and some frozen peas and carrots. The description stated there were carrots in the curry and I was expecting fresh, cut pieces of carrots, not small frozen ones. In terms of flavor, the curry was watery. I will say though that the complimentary tom yum soup that they gave with the lunch special was excellent in flavor and came with a good amount of mushrooms and chicken. That is why I'm giving the place two stars. read more

Food was ok, I asked for extra spicy and it tasted like mild, but other than that there was a HAIR IN MY FOOD. We ordered the drunken noodles and cashew nut chicken with a side of steamed rice so we don't know which dish it came from cause we found it as my bf was about to take a bite from his plate. I told the waitress about it and the manager came out to tell us that "no one has white hair" as an older woman with gray hair stood next to him. We didn't expect him to void the entire check but to at least void one plate of food and they couldn't even do that, they charged us regular price and a 50% off ONE dish lol. This place is AMAZING. I have been looking for a good Thai food place for six years. I was starting to give up, but this was everything Ive been hoping for. We ordered delivery which usually lowers the quality somewhat, but this was incredible. Everything was crispy, hot, and delicious. You can tell they use really high quality ingredients, and that everything was made fresh. It was SO GOOD. I'm thrilled. The person that answered the phone was sweet and helpful. What more could you ask for?! For anyone curious, we ordered: -Crispy pork (this was my FAVORITE!!) -Pad see ew (with beef) -Crab Rangoon (so much better than other places, normally its fake tasting sweet cream cheese mixture with barely any filling, these were large and the filling was really good) -crispy roasted duck (I don't like duck but even I kinda liked this. It was more like BBQ duck, the sauce was really tasty) -spicy rice with beef I already have a list of things I want to try next time, but the crispy pork is a must get! read more

So delicious!! Thai food is not my favorite but my husband loves it. I ordered appetizers for my dinner and the chicken fried rice and everyone ate all the goyza, chicken satay and wontons so next time I'm ordering double. Husband ordered his fav pad Thai and daughters had 1/2 chicken and BBQ pork. Everything was super good and the girls loved the fried rice. They usually only eat white rice but decided they want this rice every day. read more

Been coming here for about a year now and this place is hands down my favorite Thai spot ever. My favorite Thai dish is Green curry and they do it consistently right. The flavor is on point and the portions are generous. Like I read in another yelper's review, for me it was love at first bite here! When I discovered this place I was ordering every Friday for a month and a half. Recently I have been ordering at least once a month. Also another plus here is the food is done quickly and the staff are super kind and help you with a smile. read more

We arrived a few minutes before they opened. The place wreaked of cleaning products and bleach. After we complained of the smell, the workers opened up the doors for some air flow. Service was slow and we were the only ones there. While we were waiting for our food, a HUGE RAT ran through the restaurant and went under one of the booths!! The workers did not seem worried about it and one lady came to our table to explain that their business had been closed due to rat extermination. (I guess the treatment did NOT work!) That same lady seemed very irritated that we were there giving our business. Our family won't be returning, don't want to risk eating rat hair or feces. read more

My girlfriend and I love Thai food, so we were pretty excited to try this place. After about 10 minutes after we get our food, we noticed a long white hair in the pad see ew. We tell the waitress, and she grabs the hair and goes to the back. She comes back with a manager who tells us nobody that works there has white gray (which is a lie, an older lady that works there with gray hair was standing right next to him while he said that). So, I guess he was insinuating that WE put the white hair in the food. The waitress grabs the full plate of pad see ew and takes it away. The manager says he can only give us half off on the plate of food with the hair in it. I promise everyone reading this that there are WAY better thai options available in the area. This place has terrible customer service AND there's a possibility you'll find hair in your food. 0 stars out of 5. HORRIBLE!!!! read more

I've tried this place twice and has good experiences both times. Fried Rice was amazing, shrimp was on point. Chow main was delicious. Beef and broccoli was tender and tasty. I would personally like to eat there next time just to be able to tweak my orders a little for my personal liking. (Both orders were take out & Grub Hub) It's close to home and I can't stomach Pick up Sticks or Panda anymore. Enjoy! read more

If you were a customer of the previous owners, you will be sorely disappointed in the way the food recipes have changed. The new owners are using regular mushrooms instead of the authentic ones. Also, almost everything we ordered yesterday tasted very different and not in an appealing way. We did not want to eat it. The staff are very nice and they still do free delivery within a certain range but the food was wanting. Sorry to say we won't order again. read more

Of course, an order of Pad Thai, 2 orders since I have 5 hungry people to feed. Also, I ordered the Thai coconut soup, I think it's called Tom Kha with chicken. One more noodles dish was the Drunken Noodles, it's kinda like Chinese Chow Fun, but has a more spicy flavor and basil in it. The food was all pack and bagged for me to take back to the hotel. We used my room since I have a bigger room. We had plates and set ups for all five of us and we re-plated the food on the serving plates that came with the room. After seeing so many great reviews about this place, I had to try it myself. I anticipated a long…read moreline to get in, as people had been saying that you order and pay at the counter. I showed up around 5pm and sure enough there was already a line forming in front of the restaurant. The restaurant is located around a neighborhood, so you have to find street parking, which can be challenging. I already did my research on what I wanted to order, so my process went fairly smoothly. I imagine some other people were not as prepared and asked a lot of questions at the counter which can make the wait time even longer for other people in line. We ordered caesar salad, pizza focaccia with soppressata, squid ink tonnerelli, and ribeye tagliata. We also ordered some glasses of wine. After ordering, they walked us to our table inside. This location used to be a bbq restaurant- shady grove- before they closed down. And wow I was so impressed by the change of the patio vibe. It looked way nicer now under Due Fuori. I truly believe the vibe of a restaurant is equally important to the quality of the food, and this place nailed it. Also, apparently you can still order more stuff even after you're seated. They don't really have dedicated server for each table but the service was pretty efficient in my opinion. Now the food, everything was delicious, I have no notes! Caesar salad, very good. Pizza, omg amazing. And I'm not a pizza kinda person, so this is really a compliment! It's the thick kind of pizza, and they put some honey on it too which makes it even more delicious to me. Next was the squid ink pasta, another delightful dish. My only complaint is that it's not big enough of a portion, haha! The ribeye tagliata was so good. It was served with some salad that's very refreshing. The server explained to us that the original dish comes with the greens and cherry tomatoes underneath the meat, but they serve it separately to keep the freshness and crunch. The meat has some nice crust on the outside, very flavorful. We ended up taking some of the ribeye home, as we were already really full. It was plenty of food to share between two people. I definitely will come back to try other dishes, especially the other popular pasta dishes. This place has been really popular and I heard the line is still long even after a few months (or maybe it has been a year now?). Definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves Italian food in town. Very hip, vibey place, and delicious food!

One thing I really appreciated was that he took the time to let us sample a couple of different wines until each of us found one we truly enjoyed. That level of service made the experience feel personalized and never rushed. I ordered the cacio e pepe, and it was delicious--simple, flavorful, and exactly what I was hoping for. Between the excellent food, the thoughtful wine recommendations, and the outstanding service, it made for a wonderful dining experience. I'll definitely be back and would recommend Caffe Fiore to anyone looking for great Italian food and exceptional hospitality.

Their lunch specials and food cannot be matched with other Thai food restaurants in the area. When working in the Long Beach area, my coworkers and I would eat here at least twice a week. The lunch portion includes a dish selected amongst 10 or so options with rice and a side item(salad, soup, wontons)I am a huge fan of a spicy foods and this place makes the best and spiciest(as requested) Chicken Red Curry I have ever had.I have never been disappointed with the service although sometimes the time it takes to receive the food varies. read more

Great food and portions! Been coming here for Thai food for about 13 yrs, never disappoints. Especially love the Pad Thai and Pineapple shrimp curry! It's hidden away in a little strip mall, but the good news about that is that it's really mellow and welcoming.I've noticed that some of the newer local Thai places are really loud and modern, and I feel like I'm eating in a bar! (BOO!) I also love that it's family owned, the owner and his wife are always there making sure the quality is consistent. Give it a try! read more

YES!!!!! Thai Redemption. This place is the truth. You can't go wrong with just about anything on the menu. The place is not that large so don't bring the whole family and parking sometimes can be tricky - but please do not let those mere trivial matters take away from some of the most delectably tasteful Thai food in the LB vicinity. read more
