For food court food located in a mall, my expectations weren't exactly the highest. But Ruby Thai has some tasty foods. I had the Thai chicken with vegetable fried rice and chow mein. The chicken was flavorful and portion was as expected . Definitely serviceable and I liked the vegetable chow mein.

This was my first time having Thai food and I honestly don't even care if this was frozen chicken because it was soooo good. They gave me a sample and I loved it sm that I ordered a plate. I would like to venture out and try authentic Thai food since I enjoyed this a lot.

It's tasty! We wanted some food while at the mall. Unfortunately it's still the same fast food "Panda Express" style like two other nearby food stores. We get a choice of rice/noodles/veggie with 1-3 meat entree combo. What kinda makes it "Thai" were entrees with more heat, lemon grass, and mango. We were expecting some more Thai inspired dishes like papaya salad, curries, and stir fry noodle dishes but were satisfied with the meal nonetheless.

Food was very good. Portions were large. They got me with the free sample of chicken. Price was better then others Asian food place. I do not like spicy so I was hesitant at first. They have spicy food. But, about half of the food was not spicy. The place was clean. But, you can not see the cooking area. The staff was very, very friendly.

Fresh hot and tasty Chinese food at Ruby Thai kitchen. In my opinion, much better than Panda Express. The staff is constantly offering FREE samples to help you decide. Have a great day!

Located in the Cerritos mall food court, this place is a bit cheaper than Panda Express and you definitely get more food. The quality is not as good though. They are always offering free samples as you walk-by and that is great. Get the mango chicken, it's similar to orange chicken. The noodles and other dishes were not very good. TLDR; out of the mall food court options, it's comparable to Panda Express. You get more food for your buck but the quality is worse.

Food is very flavorful. The portions are good size. The price is very good especially for a food court. Limited entrees but what they have is very tasty. Large selection of sides. Not just limited to rice or chow mein. Give them a try

Pretty decent for mall food. Tasty and hot. The price is also reasonable given that you are in the mall.

Thai Original BBQ, Cerritos -- I am awash with nostalgia whenever I visit the Artesia/Cerritos area…read more-- home to a vibrant Filipino community, and where I lived on-and-off for nearly a decade. It's here that I welcomed the familiar comfort foods from home, and I'm in one of my favorite restaurants: Thai Original BBQ. Its name says Thai, but over time its food has evolved to skew subtly toward a Filipino palate that balances sweet, sour, salty, umami flavors, with a mild level of spice. I wondered: how far has it veered off Thai Town's flavor baseline? Entering the place is like getting into a time capsule -- its décor is exactly the same as when I first ate here 41 years ago. The long saltwater aquarium is still there, as are the same red vinyl cushioned booths. But the carpeting is noticeably threadbare, and the starched white table linens are long gone, revealing washed-out Formica. Thai Original BBQ is known for its single-plate meals featuring proteins and vegetables over sweetish rice stir-fried in Nam Prik Pao, resulting in its orange color. Tonight's dinner was our time-tested reliables: the Combination Soup, Satay Dinner, and Chicken Ruby Dinner. The combination soup was served in a fire pot. Its comforting stock is translucent, with no visible scum - packed with umami from the fish sauce and heaped with pieces of chicken, pork, shrimp, and vegetables. So comforting, even on a warm night! The satay dinner consists of eight skewers of thinly sliced flank steak, grilled to perfection, with a sweet-spicy and creamy peanut dipping sauce. And the Chicken Ruby dinner was impressive -- a whole Cornish hen, stuffed with a sausage made from a mixture of pork, rice, and glass noodles, then deep-fried whole. This delectable dish will make the "Colonel" tap out. These dishes are how I remember them -- and they bring back so many fond memories of family get-togethers. Eating here turns every meal into a mindful event. My wife and I hardly spoke to each other while eating - it wasn't being rude at all. The silence came from a quiet joy -- from something familiar, from something comforting. Thai Original BBQ did not veer as far from what we've always welcomed as Thai as I had wondered. In many ways, Thai food is similar to Filipino food: a balance of sweet, sour, salty, bitter, and spicy elements. Fish sauce is foundational to both cuisines, providing saltiness and umami, while coconut juice, palm sugar, and tamarind bring sweetness and sourness. Thai Original BBQ is really a taste of home. Five stars -- no asterisk, no hesitation.

The Pad Thai is honestly the best I've ever had. Even looking at the plate, the color alone makes you hungry. It has great flavor and was cooked perfectly. The chicken curry is also excellent. The flavor is rich and deep, and the chicken is incredibly tender--it practically falls off the bone. The service is another reason I came back. The staff checks on you regularly, and anything we requested was brought out right away. The restaurant is a bit small, so there may be a wait during busy times, but it's absolutely worth it. I also noticed a steady stream of to-go orders, which says a lot about how popular this place is. Definitely one of my favorite Thai restaurants, and I'll be coming back again!

This is defintely the best Thai food in the area. It hits your tastebuds harder than Hulk smashing Loki. The curries are rich in flavor and the noodles are perfectly cooked,, the texture is just spot on. I feel like Doctor Strange when I eat here just experiencing all the different flavor timelines at once. The Pad Kra Pow is superb and the seafood is just divine! But here is the real superpower. they can make dishes with absolutely no sugar! I usually keep a pretty close eye on carbs and sugar, so finding a spot that does this is huge. Most places can't do that cause their curries are pre-prepped like mass-produced Ultron bots. But Original Thai makes it to order from scratch. It is like Shuri customizing your gear right in the Wakandan lab. The ladies here are super friendly and treat you like family.. Prices are very reasonable so you don't need Tony Stark money to eat like a king. Food and service are wonderful. Highly recomended.

I've been coming to this location for the past 4 years and have tried many different dishes but my go-to dishes are the Yellow Curry and Garlic Pepper Chicken. The portions are big enough to share and the rice is always spot on with the meat dishes. They have the pickled chili on the table and offer additional hot sauces if needed. The location is on the smaller size with limited seating but the turnaround wait for food is quick so whether you wait to dine in or take it home it'll be worth it.

We were seated by the window and we loved it, it provided us with some privacy space to talk our hearts out. It's a Thursday night and the restaurant was not busy at all. I guess a chunk of their regulars are using the takeout services now. We ordered the Tum Yum soup with shrimp, the fried tilapia, the papaya salad, and of course, the must-have mango sticky rice. Everything was ordered mild, but the papaya salad really had a kick to it, so if you are light weight, just ask for non-spicy. We added the black crab to the papaya salad for $1; well, it's a waste, we saw only a few skinny crab legs, you might as well give the dollar as a tip. There are plenty of fresh mushrooms in the Tum Yum soup, and good amount of shrimps. The fried tilapia was delicious! And mango sticky rice was well executed and gone happily into our content stomachs. The servers are very attentive. Will definitely return.

That resulted in nearly a 25% total tip, which I wasn't aware of when I paid. If an automatic gratuity is included, customers should be clearly informed before they're asked to complete payment. Damn I picked a loser today…read more So far the Thai iced tea that they charge $6.50 for is entirely comprised of ice... like 90%. I asked for the cream on the side and they gave it to me in Dixie sample cup the size of quarter. I ordered the spicy basil pork with no bell peppers and to substitute carrots instead. She came back and said it would be an additional $2.00 charge for carrots. I said, it is a vegetable, yes? She said, "do you want it or not?" Hmmmm, I said "sure"... and then mumbled, "but it's coming out of your tip." And they charge extra for steamed rice which should come with the meal ($3.00) Then I asked for a little side of sweet and sour sauce and she said... "that will be $2.00..." I shit you not. The tip will be zero. Food wasn't even that good. AVOID. ----------------------------- THIS IS IN RESPONSE TO OWNERS REPLY: Ok, let's be real... I'll give you the full review which I was holding back and being nice.... First of all, carrots are WAY cheaper than bell peppers (BY A MILE), so why am I paying two dollars to swap them in? If anything, It should be less, not more!!! That $6.50 Thai iced tea was a full glass of ice with maybe an inch of tea on top. For real. That's a cheap ass tactic and you know it. LAME. The cream came in a dentist office medicine cup the size of a quarter. After learning that the carrots were going to cost me an extra $2, I figured more cream would probably set me back a few bucks as well so I passed on asking for more. Every single other Thai restaurant experience I've ever had in my lifetime of eating out has been to hand over a little sweet and sour sauce without charging two bucks for it. I'm not asking for a glass full. It's a small little sample FFS. $2.00???? Really??? Are you that hard up?? You must be because there was only one other table eating there. And three dollars for rice that should come with the dish? That's not policy, that's called greed. Yes, I finished my dish... not out of enjoyment, but out of sheer hunger. The dish was swimming in liquid and I ordered a 4 out of 5 spice level and it felt like a 2. Sorry, your business model sucks. $30 for lunch? Screw that. That was a $15 meal that you charged double for. You'll be out of business in no time.
