We were looking for a cake very very last minute to celebrate my sons first birthday... luckily I found this place. The cake was sooo delicious! I'm so happy I decided to go here (support small mom and pop shops PLEASE. Especially this one.) The cake was light, not too sweet (WHICH I LOVE), and fresh (the strawberries in the cake and on top of the cake were fresh). I was not disappointed, not one bit. My mother in law loved it. Went to a birthday party last night , first time tasting this amazing fruit cake! Never had a pastry layered flake cake, the center had layers of this paper pastry with a thin layer of white cream frosting followed by layer of fruit, flavors were perfectly balance never felt overly sweet, just perfect. The guest couldn't help themselves they went and got seconds. I had to restrain myself even though I was dying for another piece but bigger than what I was served lol! Birthday cake tradition for me calls for my usual carrot cake birthday cake. But this year I wanted something different, but familiar. The family ordered me a chocolate cake with bananas, which is another favorite of mine and omg it was heaven. The cake was spongey, light, airy, fluffy, and amazing. It wasn't overwhelming sweet it was just perfect. The filling which was a chocolate cream was a spot on compliment to the fresh banana slices. The cake was topped off with fresh strawberries on top. Best of all it was only $22! Called the night before and it was ready the next day. I call this cake the chocolate wasted cake because it satisfied every single desire of my chocolate craving without feeling guilty about calories or carbs. At least that's what I am telling myself when I got chocolate wasted with this cake. This place is truly amazing for a quick delicious cake. I've been a customer of TC Bakery for years and never had an issue up until now. Two weeks ago I went to the bakery and placed an order for my sisters Sweet Sixteen. I ordered a cake and 75 cupcakes for the sweets table and they told me as long as I put the order in a week in advance, they'd be able to do them. The day of the Sweet Sixteen, I was doing my sisters make up and was unable to pick up the cupcakes and cake myself, so I asked a family member to pick them up for me. When they arrived at the venue with the sweets, I took the lid off the box and was so upset with how the cupcakes looks. They looked like oversized muffins with muffin tops and since my sisters color was sage, it looked as if they just squeezed some green frosting on them. I immediately called them upset and they were beyond rude and said if I wanted a refund I needed to take them back untouched, same day. Mind you at this time we were at the venue, over 25 miles away and guests were due to start arriving already. A worker was translating for the owners and I could hear them yelling in the background in their language. I was so upset and told them I couldn't and they said if I took them next day, then I'd only get half credit. I had also sent them a picture so they saw what they looked like which I'm sure they already knew. I ran across the street to an Albertson's and bought 5 different cakes that looked simple without decor on them spending an additional $95 aside from the $150 I spent on the cupcakes. I was embarrassed with my family and felt bad because I told my mom not to buy them at Sam's Club so I could get nicer, better tasting ones at TC. The owners continued to text me harassing me about taking them back the same day and their last text to me was "we don't expect you to come back if you don't like our products." At this point my husband told me to forget it and never go back. HORRIBLE SERVICE AND RUDE! read more

I came here today trying to order a cake for tomorrow. Loooooordddd, the attitude I caught today is prob worse than Covid itself. I was hoping to order the cake with the crunchy flaky stuff, but with no fruits (due to strawberry allergy). I spoke to the lady in cantonese in hopes of getting better service, but she straight up said "no, we don't make the cake without the fruit. Go somewhere else." I just asked her why they don't do it. She replies something in Cantonese, which I couldn't understand. So I asked her what she meant. She replied "you don't understand? Just go somewhere else." Since I needed the cake for tomorrow, I just asked her if it's possible to make it without strawberries then. She said yea that's fine. So she asked me when I needed it. I told her Friday 10 am, and she quickly says nope can't do it, I can only get it to you by 11:30. The guy in the back starts talking to her and asking her questions, trying to see if they can service me. I think he was trying to tell her that it would be ok, but she comes back saying I can only do it at 10:30 earliest. It seems like they don't care to have a business. A hidden gem! The original bakery I go to in Temple City was closed for remodeling so I decided to come here to get the mango cake. I preordered super last minute last night around 6:30pm and picked it up at 1:00pm! It was a 6 inch mango cake and it's so pretty The man over the phone was the same one who helped me today and he's so sweet!! The prices here are unbeatable as well. This is the place to go if you want someone to make you feel like $hit for buying from them. I should have paid attention to the reviews about the rude owner. I ordered 20 butterfly pastries and the lady proceeded to pack them in a box. Then she tells me it's $1 extra for the box. I ask what my option is without the box and she said paper bags. I said that's fine and she collected the money then started stuffing them into 2 bags while huffing and puffing and mumbling about me being cheap. Well, it works both ways because she could have been not cheap and given me the box rather than trying to force it on me.
