Everything is edible! 1. Call and ask for a custom cake with picture printed on top. Or you can go to the store to place the order 2. Pick between vanilla, chocolate, or marble (mix of both) sponge cake 3. Pick the fruit to go inside 4. Pick a color for the icing/frosting. They can match the color to whatever you like 5. Send the picture you want on the cake to Happybakery1@gmail.com 6. If ordering the cake the day of (same day order), you must bring a printed picture into the store. Not only is the owner the sweetest person you will ever meet, but she knows how to bake delicious desserts. They have been in business over 35 years and if you decide to drop by to grab a quick snack or cake you will see why. If you are a fan of the twin dragon almond cookies get ready to geek out. This bakery sells the best almond cookies. I didn't even ask how much I just grabbed a couple because after the owner told me that this is their most popular item I knew I would not be disappointed. They are crispy and crunchy in all the right ways with a great flavor. It's the perfect cookie. The real reason I stumbled here was to check out the cakes and I saw they had cookies. Reasonably priced and nicely decorated. The bonus is that they taste great. Perfect for a birthday I am planning. Overall, I am impressed. Everything was reasonably priced and I couldn't resist grabbing a few more treats. Cheers to treating yourself!

Saw this bakery next to fresh & flash market so decided to grab a few dessert bites. They weren't the freshest pieces, probably because I came at 6 but they certainly were tasty. Besides the texture being a bit on the hard side the small cakes were sweet goodness. Overall it's pretty good especially for El Monte. 4 small cakes totaled about $7, not too shabby.

Purchased my cakes out of the Covina location before they closed. Very affordable, super cute designs and tasted amazing !

A dry Tres Leche Cake. That's going straight to the trash!

I've been coming here for over 20 years specifically for the Tres Leches cake. It's a tradition that my parents get me this cake from here because it's the only tres leches cake I like. Today is my birthday and I got my cake and I was very disappointed. It's not wet at all! It's not leaking nor does it taste moist it's just like sponge vanilla cake. My mom called the man owner and he said we didn't let him know to make it super wet which we never had to do before. It's not even wet so.. He didn't try to make it right he just said next time tell him to make it wet. Im disappointed in the cake and the customer service of the owners. We are loyal customer giving them service for over 20 years.. I'm so sad and look forward to having my tres leches cake on my birthday because it's the only time of the year I get it. It was literally the highlight of my birthday. I'm just disappointed and wish they would've made it right.

I placed an order Monday for a Fondant fortnite cake sch for pick up on July 4th. I decided to go with this cake shop due to the good reviews and of course, the 10% discount on yelp. However, because fondant cake usually take more time to make I decided to skip the 10% and paid full price $95 + $5 for fresh fruits. Also, I felt Joe was nice enough to take my order even though it was kind of a last minute thing. The cake turned out to be a disappointment. It was not a full fondant cake so I felt it was not what we agreed on and for that i felt cheated on. Originally, Joe quoted me $43 for a quarter sheet sponge cake and I was like no no..let me send you a photo of the cake i wanted. After viewing the photo, he said that was a fondant cake and it cost $95. I agreed. INSTEAD of fondant, most of the cake was made with cream and heavy coloring. I got blue and like charcoal coloring on my hands until I went home to scrub it off with soap. Still have some on my hands right now...Also, the number 11 and other decorations were made out of cardboard NOT chocolate!!! It was a one layer cake but there were like 4 sticks inside the cake...none of this was informed to me. I was not aware so of course the people at the party wasnt aware. When the kids tried to eat the decorations they got grossed out. Disappointed & embarrassed. Joe was kind enough to give me a call back to clarify things. He told me that there were some miscommunication and apologized for not meeting my expectation. He states that they make all decoration with cardboard so it can stay stable on the cake. He offered me 10% discount on my next order...that offer is stated on yelp??? Joe, you gotta do better than that. Actually, you should have tried to fix the issue for what already happened and improve on future orders. I am still not satisfied... Honestly, the cake tasted good. All the disappointments could have been avoided if everything was explained in details. And dont go charging people for a fondant cake when it's not. Only 2 or 3 of the decorations were made with fondant DOES not count. A fondant cake means the cake not the decoration itself. Most likely, I will not come back to this bakery

First time ordering from this bakery a cake and it exceeded my expectations it was so cute and yummy exactly what i wanted. I ordered a chocolate cake with fruit filling of banana and strawberries. The cake was so moist and chocolatey but not too much on the taste buds as well with the frosting, plenty of fruit pieces in each serving. I got what i wanted overall i was happy with my purchase and will be ordering from this bakery again.

I throw parties almost every year for my 3 kids. Most of the bakeries I get our cakes from are hit or miss. I FINALLY found this gem we can go to year after year... and I'm so happy! An excellent business deserves an excellent review. Their cakes came out beautiful and just as we wanted. The prices are reasonable. My FAVORITE part of this business is its responsiveness and customer services. They email and call to ensure that we are being heard and service is being rendered. This review is long overdue! I ordered a cake from here back in April for my son's birthday, and it turned out so cute! The only small downside was having to buy the cake toppers separately since their catalogs are a bit outdated, but aside from that, they decorated the cake exactly like the picture in the catalog. The cake itself tasted good--moist, flavorful, and not dry at all. Before placing my order, I tried their mini cakes (I think they're around $3-$5 each), and those were delicious too! The owners are also incredibly kind and helpful, always willing to answer your questions. read more

Best Filipino puto available here. We've been ordering here since 2017. They used to be at Valley Blvd. in San Gabriel they now moved to this new location in El Monte. They also have the best Siomai many good stuff here. read more

Parking: open, free easy If you want a PRINTED PICTURE full sheet cake, this is the place to go in 24 hours. Yes, the graphics on the picture will never be perfect but it was such a hit at my friend's birthday party. The service was amazing and fast. I called in and they asked me what flavors I wanted (strawberry and custard, half in half). They let me know that the cake can be split in half so I could do two flavors. It's your typical asian bakery but I would come back for a custom cake! read more

I call to get a price on a cake before I drove out there with everything so expensive I was trying to saved money.So I call I ask about a small cake he told me 45.00 which is reasonable so went I went I end up paying 95 dollar for small cake.i was confused because I was told 45 I don't argue I bought because it was my kids birthday the owner is very kind and friendly but cakes are not the greatest is more cream then anything else...I could buy cake and piñata with 95 dollars. read more

I love cream & custard filled pastries! So going here made me very happy! I came here so see if they had cream puffs so I was very happy to see regular cream puffs, longer cream puffs, & custard filled horns/cannolis. There was also so much filling it was enough for a few more pastries! The horns were nicely crispy but their cream was a lot sweeter, better to drink it with coffee or tea. I tried a cheese roll & I liked it but cheese rolls are not really my thing, maybe someone who likes them would enjoy them more. I haven't tried any cakes, cookies, or brownies so I can't say how good they are, but I would definitely come back for the cream! I cannot express enough of how much I LOOOOVVEEED how my daughters 1st birthday cake came out which was also a very reasonable price! First of all it was delicious, the cake was very spongey and moist, it had strawberries and pineapple which were also so delicious and fresh! We ordered this cake 2 weeks before her birthday party and when we picked it up it was ready and was kept fresh even though we arrived very late from the original pick up time. Everyone at the party just loved how the picture looked very original and couldn't believe it was edible because of how good it looked! We will definitely be coming back! read more

This time I ordered Elmo and abby cadabby, gave me just what I asked For. The man was nice enough to help me carry it to the car. Very nice people. read more

DISAPPOINTED!! I picked up this mermaid cake hoping it would look like this picture I sent them &got the OPPOSITE. It was horrible and sadly I paid for it ahead of time so once it was brought home I was in shock.The cake taste as horrible as it looked BURNED CAKE EDGES . Never again. The cake was so cute and sooo tasty! The frosting was yummy, the cake was soft and it wasn't super sweet! I ordered a birthday cake for my best friend and they loved it so much! My original custom Cocomelon cake got canceled the day before my daughters first birthday. I called Happy Bakery and they were able to make me a custom cake last minute. The strawberry sponge cake was a hit at the party. The cake was not too sweet which was great for the kids but my next order I would order with extra strawberries. Happy Bakery has been around for years. Although I haven't personally tried or ordered their cakes, I've been going there to put helium on my balloons from balloons I've ordered online. Happy bakery prices are way more reasonable than party city or any other party shops in my opinion. Depending on the size of the balloon prices may vary. read more

Stop this last Sunday to get a Birthday cake and when we got to cut the cake the strawberries inside were rotten. The cake tasted nasty, took the cake back today so they can see it and all the owner said was " I am sorry, do you want to take another cake" The party was yesterday NOT TODAY.... she could've offered at least a 50% refund for the nasty and expensive cake that she sold me. By the way, I took back more than half of the cake. read more

I am surprised that no one no reviewer has ever mentioned about their amazing cheese rolls The cheese rolls are bigger than Porto's and it is 1.50 dollars and it is so good the filling is not too sweet it has the perfect amount of creaminess cheesiness sweetness all that you might expect only from the best bakeries They also offer a good array of cakes and brownies. read more

Unsuspecting bakery for great carrot cake! . . . Upon first impressions you might end up feeling like you're about to enter a quaint donut shop or even a mom and pop-esque place - and you'd be pretty damn close! They sell a variety of interesting pastries such as guava+cheese or jalapeno+cream cheese empanadas, and specialty cakes here. I came by around 5pm on Friday evening, desperately looking for a birthday cake. With Red Velvet ($29), Strawberries & Cream, and Carrot cake ($24) on display, I opted for the latter in an 8 inch and it was delicious + super moist! Definitely a hit amongst friends. In terms of the El Monte scene, this place definitely stuck out as a great "go-to" cake spot. However, I'd definitely recommend ordering something in advance, otherwise you'll be stuck with rather limited options. Established in 1989.

As the oven timer rings, rings, rings, the sweet smell of cakes and breads indicate that the something new and exciting has been created. Balancing the ingredients and mixtures to form the perfect cake and pastries in the family's small kitchen, a young entrepreneur and his two other brothers set out to start what would be known as a small bakery chain in the heart of the San Gabriel Valley in Southern California. With their love for baking and creating tasty and desireable sweets, they set their mission to share their love of their cakes and pastries to the world. From their passion of baking, the brothers pursued a new standard of quality where every cake, bread, and pastry was made to satisfy everyone's desires. Based off in El Monte, California, Happy Bakery has been serving the greater San Gabriel Valley since 1989. As each dessert is made with local fresh and quality ingredients, Happy Bakery is committed to providing the community with affordable sweets that everyone can enjoy.

For those who aren't familiar, Gokí Café draws inspiration from the flavors and traditions of Oaxaca, Mexico, which is reflected throughout the menu. You'll find everything from horchata and mazapán lattes to Oaxacan-inspired drinks, pastries, and food items. I ended up ordering the iced Horchata Latte and an oatmeal cranberry pecan cookie. One important tip: mix the latte before taking a sip. The espresso sits at the top while the milk settles at the bottom, so giving it a good stir makes all the difference. Once mixed, it was absolutely delicious. You could taste the horchata, cinnamon, and espresso all working together perfectly. It was smooth, flavorful, and definitely strong enough to get me through my morning. The oatmeal cranberry pecan cookie was equally impressive. It was soft, flavorful, and paired perfectly with the coffee. Honestly, I finished both much faster than I intended. The café itself is beautiful inside. It's clean, cozy, and thoughtfully designed. One thing I especially appreciated was the study/work area along the wall. Each seat has its own outlet nearby, which makes it a great place to bring a laptop and get some work done without fighting over charging space. The only challenge is parking. I decided to order from this bakery for my daughter's 11th birthday based on the good reviews. I went there one week before to show the owner Joe the picture of the number cake that I wanted. I told him I want the cake decorations to be light pink and similar to the picture I showed him. I know it won't be exactly the same but the colors of the flowers should be somewhat similar. The day I went to pick up the cake I was shocked the cake turned out to be YELLOW with some pink flowers on top. I didn't mention the color yellow at all and all the flowers on the cake look glittery which I didn't ask for that either. I was VERY disappointed the moment I looked at the cake but didn't want to complain which is too late anyway. I repeated a few times that I don't want the cake to be too sweet and he either forgot about it or this is the way to make their cakes with high sugar level. Even my 2 girls who love sweets complained that the cake is way too sweet. He really should pay more attention to what customers request especially when he charge over 100 for these custom made cakes. I don't think I'll be back after such bad experience. read more

This bakery isn't what you would expect in El Monte. Asian people behind the counter making cakes and tamales, but even though that's the case, I love coming here just because the workers are really friendly and obviously know what they're doing. I ordered a cake from here and surprisingly enough, it was on ready by the time I said I'd pick it up. For the cake on the other hand, it was just, amazing. It was a sponge white cake with bananas and it wasn't really as sweet as other bakeries I've been to. to finalize, Happy bakery is fast, reliable, and overall, really delicious. I would go there again and again for cakes. read more

Hats off to Happy Bakery very friendly service cakes are delicious love their strawberry and cream filling with the sponge cake all my guest loved not inly how pretty the cake looked but how good it tasted !! Made my daughters 1st birthday complete with her minnie mouse cake came in with a pic and the owner was so nice and worked with what i wanted ... it came out beautifull!!! I read more

Decent bakery, ordered some cupcakes from them and the frosting was really runny and wasn't presentable for my cupcakes tower. I was a really disappointed because this was for my baby shower. The price is $12 per dozen and flavor is mediocre more in a dry side. read more
