A really good Chinese bakery option, with separately packed buns and pastries (egg tarts, black bean buns, coconut buns, hot dog buns etc), mooncakes in different flavors, crispy shrimp chips, cookies, cakes and sticky rice ($4.75). They have some items that you can pick yourself and others behind a glass counter. They were packed on a Saturday afternoon but the line moved rather quickly. $10 credit card minimum and .05 for a bag

I always go to Taiwan Bakery when I'm in Boston's Chinatown neighborhood, just a few steps away from the Chinatown gate. This bakery offers a large selection and assortment of traditional savory and sweet baked goods like mooncakes, Taiwanese buns, breds, pastries and cakes. Some of the mooncakes that I tried was the green tea and taro, which are both delicious! I took a few orders of taro bread, pandan and red bean mooncake to my hotel for snacks. The staff were friendly and nice and the service was good. The bakery have their delicious products in full display and you if you dont control yourself you will end up buying everything in sight Clean and organized individually wrapped baked goodness on display that is reasonably priced and a cozy ambiance of this bakeshop. Check it out!

The ladies working the bakery are so sweet and kind! I'm not really one who likes sweets so my family got several things. They said some was wonderful and others not quite their favorite. The bakery is small and quaint. Cute spot! And most of the pastries and cakes have smiles on them! Check it out!

This is one of the staple bakeries that have survived in Chinatown over the years . I just noticed I didn't do a review for this location. I've been eating here for a long, long time. They have the standard Chinese array of pastries. Some of my favorite are the sticky rice. Also the cakes with the fruit on top and I also like the steam bao buns just to name a few. as far as Chinatown goes, the bakery is pretty clean so very surprising and welcoming for tourist. The help is always pleasant and eager to add something into your order trying to upsell. lol. Super cute. Anyways definitely stopping and grab a dessert after one of the fabulous restaurants located in Boston's Chinatown district. it's always great to walk back to your car with a nice authentic Chinese pastry. And there parking goes for every single vendor restaurant bakery storefront in Chinatown . May the parking god be with you very very tough.

Definitely tasty, the bakery here is excellent and has some dishes that other bakeries in the area do not. Typical Taiwanese bakeries, the sugar is a little lower so it tastes better and they have a pretty good bubble tea too. They do take credit card over $10. They have an excellent taro bun and the pork floss bun with mochi is fantastic. Definitely enjoy the not too sweet lao po bing too. (Wife bun) Also known on their receipt as "Great 101 Bakery".

Love this place's big steamed buns! They are massive and fluffy and very filling. The salted yolk and mushroom inside are exciting to find haha. Bakery inside is beautifully displayed with plenty of options! Staff is kind and hands you trays and quick checkout

A thin bite-sized piece of hotdog in their hotdog buns. You don't get the whole piece anymore.

Shrinkflation is hitting Taiwan Bakery (and its sister bakeries Top Bread) hard. Their hotdog buns are mostly bread. In the past, each hotdog bun had a whole hotdog in the middle. It is now reduced to a thin bite-sized piece. You also don't even get a whole hotdog! Time to find a new bakery.

They take cash and card Egg tarts and Portuguese tarts here are great! They also offer more cakes and sweets than the bakery next door

I've really been on my Asian bakery kick lately, so while I was on vacation in Boston I stopped by this bakery while waiting for a dinner reservation. It's a small place but super clean and organized! The staff was very friendly and answered questions I had about some of their pastries. They had a variety of items from steamed pork buns (LOVED), Mooncakes for the Lunar New Year celebrations coming up, and all sorts of cakes! If I could've I would've brought all of these pastries back with me, but it was nice to be able to try some out while I could! Some of my favorites were the coffee tiger skin roll cake and the pork bun! I'd highly recommend if you're in Chinatown to stop by and support your local bakeries!

My favorite bakery in Boston's Chinatown! It's always clean, well-lit, and well-stocked with freshly baked goods. Service is friendly, and they take card after $10 minimum spend (cash otherwise). Of what I've tried: - Wife cakes: the perfect balance of sweet and chewy on the inside, without being too dense or overly sweet. Will keep returning for these! - Coconut raisin bread: a sweet dessert bread that is decadently soft with lots of sweet coconut baked in. Oh the sweeter side, but not overly so. Would get again. - Red bean egg yolk pastry (round): the texture of a mooncake in round pastry form. Dense red bean filling, but not too overly sweet. Would get again. - Steam pork bun: huge in size and have a 10/10 filling with a savory, umami flavor and juicy texture. I just wish there was a higher filling to bun ratio, as the bun is probably around 1-2 inches thick. Would get again with this in mind, and would eat with soy milk or a soup to wash down the excess bread exterior. I will keep coming back here for their wife cakes and to try more of their soft breads and pastries.

Some items, such as the coconut custard mooncake, are a good blend of unique and an attempt at shifting the needle while still providing an element of nostalgia and root relevance; other items yet, such as the egg tart, while not exceptional, are decent enough upon their own merits and because of the nostalgia that they invoke a distinct satisfaction; and other items yet, such as the cheesecake, are not particularly flavorful, memorable, nor noteworthy. Based on what you order, "your mileage may vary". As an establishment must be evaluated on all elements, comprehensively, this place is invariably tethered to some degree by its weaker links. Given the comparison to cookie cutter, pedestrian offerings that offer nothing new nor different, and that seem to be so rife and popular within the surrounding area (cough, Tatte, cough), I would nonetheless tender my recommendation for this restaurant for tourists and locals alike.

I come here at least once a week to grab my weekend dessert haul. It's really cheap, and you can get up to 5 or even 6 pastries for just $10. God bless this bakery for existing.

Ordered the giant steamed pork bun and a slice of the tiramisu. The bun was HUGE and delicious and it tasted like there was a cured egg yolk inside??? The tiramisu was really good but it wasn't true tiramisu, as it was layered with moist cake in place of ladyfingers, but it was still nice! Service and ambiance were lovely; would take my friends here next time!

I had ordered for pickup for a designated time, however finished my meetings sooner than expected and so arrived there around an hour early and asked if they could prepare the food at that time and they very kindly did. It was a 15-20 minute wait but that was totally fine! The space is cozy and quite crowded as always. Like that they added the extra doorway for winter to keep the inside warm. I ordered the chicken & vegetable soup - I think Tatte's version might be my favorite chicken soup - it's just right with the mix of tender chicken, veggies and has white beans- mild flavors- yummy!! I want to try and recreate it at home one day. The chicken pita sandwich is another favorite- really hearty with plenty of chicken and love the cucumbers and tomatoes and the sauce - perfect! I also ordered the salmon dish with the seasonal veggies- the crust was so crispy - it felt like the skin but didn't look like it very curious! Lots of food - had enough for leftovers for another lunch!!

The meal options are all on laminated pages instead of on a big board, but they did have a lot of good options. We started with regular drip coffee which was ready quickly and we could sweeten to our liking. We tried the house breakfast which was two eggs any style (got them fluffy and scrambled), crispy bacon, cheesy potato fritters with tomato jam (similar to ketchup), and sourdough bread (we asked for butter) it was all very filling and some nice spins on a traditional breakfast. The bakery selection is out of this world - from breakfast pastries to delicately crafted desserts. The cinnamon and pecan rose was just like the center of a cinnamon bun, which was fantastic. It was big enough for two people to indulge without overdoing it. There weren't a lot of outlets, so not ideal for long term laptop use, but the food came quickly, it wasn't too loud even with a ton of people coming in and out. The prices were reasonable, and everything tasted amazing.

There is a wide variety all with great offerings, and a few snack and drink places and a bar. It is a very nice and huge facility, so stylish. The ambiance is great. There was a bird in the rafters which was kind of funny. Unfortunately there is a not a clear online menu that is up to date with all the restaurants and their individual menus on the main Time Out Market website. You have to go into each restaurant and look at their online ordering POS to get to the menu. It was hard to decide what to eat because I could not look at all the options all at once, i had to walk around and look at the individual restaurant menus one at a time. I ended up choosing the Italian food place POE-lenta. I had a very tasty Creamy Chicken Rigatoni. It came with spicy crushed red pepper and grilled lemon as well. It was a good choice and was enjoyable. I did not finish all the chicken but it was pretty good. I also ordered a very yummy mocktail from the bar. I got a Coco Pom, which the bartender described as kind of a pina colada without the rum and with a pomegranate twist. It was really good, I drank it all. They also have convenient cups and a water tap to fill your water by the the two bars. The restroom was huge and very nice, but the stalls are so dark inside, the lighting was so dim I could not really see anything. I think the building should really work on those light levels. There was some appearance of construction ongoing in the hallway to the restrooms. Time Out is a great place to stop and spend some time, with great food, drinks, and atmosphere. It looked like there was also a stage and large projection screen for events.
