I came to tatte for the black sesame latte but was seduced by the orange blossom latte and had to give it a shot. I've been drooling over the passion fruit krembo and the pear tart so I had to give them a try as well. Pear tart- absolutely perfect, so mellow and sweet and I loved the poached pear in the middle! Passionfruit krembo- honestly stronger on the coconut and meringue flavor than on the passion fruit? Tastes almost like a lemon meringue tart to me. Orange blossom latte- frankly didn't get any flavor of orange blossom in the latte, until it melted totally I could taste it a little in the coffee. The vanilla was also really light. It's a pretty unadulterated coffee (as is typical for a cold brew) and I kinda like my coffee sweet and creamy, so I was not too impressed on a first taste. But once it melted I liked it a lot more. Probably will stick with black sesame next time. Note- they serve their pastries glued with sugar (?) on a cardboard round. Im not too sure how to eat it like this so I ended up prying them off the round. read more

This is probably competing with the Tatte on Copley as my favorite Tatte... but takes the cake when the weather allows sitting outside. I've always been a huge Tatte fan and loved it as a Boston staple because every food dish tastes great and is of good quality (and I've tried quite a few from various pastries to shakshuka, most of their breakfast sandwiches, and the Cilbir which has unfortunately left the menu). Frankly Tatte is one of few spots where I'd opt for a hot Cappuccino over an iced Americano, but that's my only qualm. read more

Always love Tatte! I mean, what's not to love they have incredible coffee, tease, bakery items, and so many great dishes. Walking into a Tatte is like warm hug, it's a positive, welcoming, and bright environment to be in. All of the cafes are so aesthetically pleasing and get a lot of natural light. This location does have some indoor seating, but is a bit more limited than some of the other locations. They do have a lot of outdoor seating though. It's also a great area to walk around if you get your coffee and or pastry to go. It of course gets busy at peak times on weekends and morning during the week. Brunch is big at Tatte, and rightfully so. I don't think it's the best place to try to work, but you can bring a computer in do some work or study, but it can also get loud when there's lots of conversations being held. I've had great interactions with the staff at this location and even when it's busy, I haven't had to wait too long to get my order. I've been loving the pumpkin spice tahini latte this fall. I first visited Tatte about 8-9 years ago at a different Boston location and remembered loving both the pastries and the beautiful interior design. So during my recent weekend trip, I made it a point to stop by again, but this time at a new location. This spot is much smaller than I expected, with limited seating and a steady crowd. My friend and I managed to grab a table, but it didn't feel like the best place to work or study, which was a little unfortunate because I was looking for a cafe to get some work done. Thus, if you're looking for a cozy spot to settle in with a laptop, this probably isn't it. If you're here for the food, though then you're in luck! I ordered the lamb hash while my friend tried the lamb meatball shakshuka. Both were delicious. The lamb hash came with a mix of potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots, and pickled red cabbage, topped with a perfectly poached egg, garlic labneh, and a bright green dressing. On the side there were tomatoes and lightly toasted bread that paired beautifully with everything. The dish had a great balance of sweet, savory, and tangy flavors. Although the tomatoes tasted frozen, which was my only disappointment. The lamb meatball shakshuka was equally satisfying. The meatballs were tender and the tomato sauce was rich and flavorful, with bell peppers, sweet peppers, parsley, and a creamy touch of labneh mixed in. I was hoping for a bit more spice, but it was still hearty and comforting. Ordering was simple. You place your order at the front, and the staff brings it to your table once ready. The line did get long at times, but it moved quickly, and our food arrived faster than expected. the cafe was pretty cute outside and the patio was nice. inside, it was very busy and looked a little sterile... not cozy at all and the baristas were not very friendly either. maybe they were overwhelmed by the busy morning rush. the coffee was overhyped for sure. the coffee had a rich and deep roasted flavor that i liked. the local who recommended this cafe said the coffee beans come from Ethiopia and Brazil (idk how she knew this but i researched to confirm and its true ) the syrup tasted artificial and the latte was very watered down though so i wouldn't recommend especially if you are looking for an iced beverage. This Tatte is a relaxing place to stop into on a walk after work to eat a light dinner at the outdoor tables. Today I had the turkey avocado sandwich with my grandson. The outdoor tables are nice on sunny days. Although the bakery always tempts me, this is a fresh, healthy option, and the bread is a special treat! The serving sizes were a bit on the small side, so I was still hungry after my meal. I decided to get a pistachio croissant and an almond croissant to go. I was intrigued by the pistachio one as I had never seen that option before. It was very flaky, but I found the pistachio filling to be a little artificial tasting. So comforting to have warm chicken soup on a rainy day like today! I think Tatte's chicken and vegetable soup might be among my top favorite chicken soups. It's hearty, tasty, very flavorful and fills you up. I also prefer the beans and veggies (onions, carrots, celery, potatoes) instead of noodles - I feel like it's healthier that way, and the herbs especially the dill really makes it super flavorful. Yummy lunch of good soup and a bread roll. I'm going to have to try and recreate this soup at home!! Not sure it'll be the same though ha ha! Ordered for pickup and it was ready on time so happy for the good service. Hubs really enjoyed his lamb kebab pita too! He said it was creamy savory, and perfect number of kebabs, veggies were crisp and fresh- every bite flavorful!! Tatte is a weakness for me -- whenever see one, it's hard to resist going in. My favorite is Tatte on Beacon Street in Brookline, and it never fails me when I'm looking for a pastry or a quick breakfast. It's especially nice to go with a friend. The bakery always feels busy in a good way, and everything in the display case looks amazing. My favorites are the apple turnover and the strawberry turnover. Both are excellent. The apple turnover is flaky and buttery with a great apple filling, while the strawberry turnover had a fresh flavor and a light, crispy pastry. Honestly, it was hard to pick a favorite between the two. The staff were friendly, and my order came out quickly even though there were a lot of people there. The café has a nice atmosphere, whether you're stopping in for coffee, meeting up with friends, or just grabbing something to go. There are a lot of great bakeries around Boston, but Tatte is one of the places I find myself returning to. I'm usually full after finishing this off with an iced latte. Delish! BREAKFAST SANDWICH For my chicken tenders and fries kinda girls. Eggs your style (over medium in this case), Vermont cheddar, and applewood smoked bacon on their house-made sourdough. It's simple, but their fresh ingredients make this delicious! CHOCOLATE CROISSANT Like I said earlier, their bakery is amazing. I always split a chocolate croissant here with my sister because she always wants one of these bad boys. Their croissants are made with four Valrhona dark chocolate batons which are then rolled into their house-made flaky croissant dough. Every bite is so buttery, so flakey and deliciously chocolatey. You gotta have one of these, really takes the edge off the angry vent sessions! ICED PISTACHIO LATTE House-made pistachio syrup topped with espresso and milk. Sounds interesting enough? Love, absolutely love. Wish I could make this at home, but it still probably wouldn't turn out as good. It's like pistachios were brewed or steamed (however it works) right into the coffee beans. I'm telling you, if you're a big pistachios fan like me you'll love this! Tastes like real pistachios not the simple syrup fake kind. I also get this with oat milk because I am a lactose "sensitive" girly. Could drink this everyday. SMOKED SALMON & AVOCADO TARTINE This is my sister's go to when we come here. It's their house-made sourdough that gets toasted and topped with some delicious smoked salmon, chopped avocado, campari tomatoes, red onion, capers (my sister loathes capers so she opted not to get them) and dill tossed with olive oil and their special green herbed dressing. A place like Tatte Bakery & Cafe doesn't need to pull out any stops or offer any zest, it naturally has that special vibe that is warm, cozy, and inviting. After some fussing with parking my rental car, I was in a hurry to jump into a meeting but then, I instantly felt so good the moment I stepped into the shop. It was like OK, you're here. Calm down. You're all good. You got this, girl! I found a nice perch amongst the bar tops on the side with an outlet for my laptop. Perfect. I was able to order breakfast (Egg plate with goat cheese and tomatoes - so good!) and the same Kale Apple Juice I had last time. Also, perfect. From there, it was smooth cruising through the work day. The breakfast plate was so filling, I actually couldn't even finish it. As my third trip to Boston this year, who knows, maybe there will be a fourth trip in the making before the end of year! Anyway, I recommend adding this to your list of places to visit. You order your food at the front counter and they give you a number to hold on to so they can bring the food to you. My heirloom tomato tartine was perfect--the sourdough was perfectly crispy and the flavors and textures all together with the goat cheese mousse, pesto, tomatoes, etc was ridiculously delicious. Note: I got the heirloom tomato tartine at another Tatte a day later since I loved it so much but it was noticeably less amazing because of the sourdough being a little soggy and other small reasons. 3 stars for the Turkey B.L.A.T. that I got on sourdough. The sandwich was large and delicious. Turkey, bacon, lettuce, avocado and tomato. How can you go wrong? So, why 3 stars instead of 4 or 5? First - the tables were extremely dirty. They obviously hadn't been wiped off in a while and there were crumbs and food remnants everywhere. Which is curious, because there were at least 3-5 employees gossiping and laughing loudly behind the counter the entire time I ate there. When someone came in, they were helped, but there was a constant screeching, giggling and chatting from the other staff behind the counter. I don't expect a library atmosphere, but when you are FULLY 10x louder than any of the actual customers, there's a problem. read more

All the desserts and cakes looks really appetizing, but I controlled myself and ordered something savory for lunch. The two friends I came with got shakshuka - one original and one lamb. I got the Spinach, Egg, and Corn Plate (Sautéed spinach, fresh corn, and poached egg* served over garlic labneh and topped with Aleppo chili oil. Served with housemade sourdough.) The egg plate doesn't look like much, but it is so filling and yummy. And you get 2 big sourdoughs to help mop up the yummy sauce - first time trying labneh (yogurt-like consistency) THEIR SOURDOUGH IS AWESOME - it's crispy but still soft. I hate sourdough that is hard as rocks - sorry I'm not a sourdough connoisseur so idk if it's actually supposed to be hard but it was perfect here for me! On this visit we ordered a freshly squeezed orange juice, an iced chai latte, and the B.L.A.T. sandwich. We were disappointed with the OJ since it was small, tasted ok, and was not truly "freshly squeezed" at that moment - it was already bottled. The iced chai was fine, not my favorite, and they messed up the milk. The sandwich, however, was the star of the show - it was so delicious and is the sole reason this review is getting 5 stars - the housemade challah was light and the sriracha aioli tied all the flavors together.
