Tacodeli tacos are some of the best I've ever had. They use fresh ingredients and have a large menu selection. The tacos are a little on the small side and can be pricey, but they are high quality. Their online ordering system is handy if you don't want lines and the outdoor seating is perfect for a nice day. I've been here on several occasions for late lunch and it's always packed. Takes a long time to get my food which is a bummer since I'm always on a time crunch for lunch. It's a nice location, lots of indoor/outdoor seating, and the food is pretty good. The last time I was here I meant to order a platter (w/beans & rice) but inadvertently ordered 2 tacos and chips w/no sides. Cost was over $11 for two small tacos and while I love the homemade chips, it was pricey for what I got. I feel I get more for my money at other taco joints in town. My wife, 3 little siblings, and I went there today to grab lunch. We had heard good things and we're excited to try it for the first time. We each ordered 2 tacos and got queso and guacamole to share. The atmosphere and employees were nice, but the food was absolutely subpar, especially for Tex-Mex in Austin. The chips for the queso and quac came out in the clear cellophane bags that you see in the back of....well, cheap and bad restaurants. They were definitely not even close to homemade and tasted like it. The tacos tasted like they had been nuked in a microwave instead of actually cooked. Plus, it was more expensive then Torchy's or any taco truck you may find- and with worse food. No one was able to finish their meal, which is saying something when it comes from two very non-picky adults and teenage kids who eat literally anything. Maybe we caught them on a bad day, it definitely happens. But it certainly seemed like that's what they were serving to everyone when we were there. Now, my wife is home with a stomach ache and the kids are feeling bad too. All that to say- I was super disappointed, and you can do WAY better if you are looking for Tex-Mex around here. read more

Let me just say: What a treat it is to work less than 5 minutes from this location! Their tacos are consistently delicious and fresh. Although the line grows longer and longer every time I go (this is a good sign, right?) it moves fast and you can avoid it all together by calling your order in and simply heading to the counter. The staff is super helpful and friendly -- always willing to get me that extra Dona we need for the troops at the office. They always get my call in order right, even if it's long and complicated. On to lunch, my favorite part of the work day. This is mostly since Taco Deli moved into Westlake Village. Usually I pick it up and get back to the office but the patio and indoor seating both look appealing. I almost never met a taco I didn't like but these are extra tasty. You can taste the quality ingredients. These guys are dedicated to consistency. I saw where one cheap guy was complaining about the cost--HA! This place is not expensive especially considering the other lunch options in the area. I am always full on less than $10. Perhaps you can take your kids for a happy meal? You get what you pay for and this place is solid. (Yes, I'm talking to you David H.) Now for a breakdown of my favorites-- For Breakfast: The sirloin, egg and cheese is my pick for breakfast with the Vaquero coming in a close second. I never thought I would dig a vegetarian breakfast taco until I tried this one. Eggs scrambled with grilled corn (the best part), roasted poblano and red peppers and topped with Monterrey jack cheese. When it comes to lunch, I always check the specials. If it's Deli Belly day or if they have Bahn Mi on special, I'm getting that. Their salads are fantastic too. I highly recommend the Espinaca Salad. (Fresh spinach, romaine, bacon, avocado, grilled corn, red cabbage, toasted pepitas, pickled red onions and serranos) The pickled red onions and bacon bits will take you to flavor town. Without a doubt, my most consistent order is the Ensalada Tacodeli con Pollo (or chicken for you non-Spanish speakers). A bed of romaine lettuce topped with guac, sour cream, pico, cheese, onion, tomato--provides me with the perfect amount of nourishment to get through my afternoon. If you're feeling naughty, grab one of the Butterface cookies they have at the counter when you pay. read more

Holy tacos!!! This place is great!! The friendly staff, the atmosphere-all amazing. And let's have some taco talk: yesssssss. We tried 10 different tacos of which I have forgotten names, but the Tuesday special taco, the shrimp, the fish (I think it was called Mojo) and the Cowboy were my faves. Tacodeli has some negatives that have been pointed out in the other reviews. Their tacos are a bit smaller than the ones at some other places and a bit more expensive. It also gets pretty crowded, especially on the weekends. On the plus side, they have the best breakfast tacos I've found in Austin and I have tried a lot of places. My girlfriend is even more of a fan; she pretty much refuses to eat breakfast tacos from anywhere else. So it looks like I will be there most Saturday and Sunday mornings for the foreseeable future. read more

Pretty tasty! We loved that we could sit outside under the oaks and enjoy the nice day. We got five different kinds of tacos between the two of us and couldn't decide which we liked best! The meat was super tender, and the sauces were flavorful. The salsas you can put into little cups at the drink counter were all fantastic, and the heat they added to our tacos highlighted all the amazing flavors. I've tried almost everything on the menu and it's all good - carne asada, puerco verde, and their vegetarian tacos (esp the freaking vegan) are all favorites. Helpful tip - this is not the place to go if you're rushing for lunch esp on Fridays. The get super busy and sometimes the line is out the door. I tend to call-in and order ahead on those days. I frequent this place almost religiously every Sunday for a late breakfast taco. Big fan of any/all of their breakfast tacos. I've been lucky to try almost all of them, as they typically cater breakfast to my office every Friday giving me a chance to try everything. The place has good seating with lots more outside. I've never had bad service here either as the employees here are happy to greet you and will occasionally walk by and ask if your meal is okay. They also have Maine Root sodas here which are a plus. read more

This review is 100% based off of the food. I have been told about Tacodeli several times and when finally in the area I was excited to try. Staff was great but again that has nothing to do with why I will never go to Tacodeli ever again. If the food was great but the staff sucked, I'd still go back to a restaurant because it could have been someones bad day and I will try it again. If the food is bad, it doesn't matter how nice the staff is....sorry. Anyways... prices seemed normal, till I opened the tacos and they were TINY. Not just small tortillas stuffed with lots of goodness....no, not stuffed at all, maybe 4 small pieces of discusting chicken in the one. That chicken taco in fact, had a visible vein that made me sick to my stomache and no longer able to finish the other 2 tacos (thankfully I tried a bite out of all of them before eating this so I can give a legit review) The brisket taco didn't have caramelized onions and the brisket was so burnt it felt like you were eating burnt char bits, and not your good burnt ends. Aweful. The third taco was so greesy that the tortilla was mush. Then the queso, it was legitimately just heavy cream, and couldn't taste any cheesy flavor, and was like water. read more
