I ordered the veggie burrito and wow, I was not prepared for how good those roasted veggies were going to be. Cabo Bob's catered our sorority joint graduate and undergraduate chapter meeting. This meeting celebrated new members inducted into the undergraduate chapter. This was my first time experiencing Cabo Bob's burritos. We had a choice of pre-prepared burrito or build your own burritos. I opted for the build your option. Burrito options included beef, chicken, tortillas, beans, guacamole, cheese and pica de gallo. In addition, tortilla chips and queso were available along with Mac n cheese. In addition, lemonade and mint sweet tea was served. A staff member delivered the food prior to our meeting start. He was friendly and helpful, 80+ sorority members appear to enjoy the meal. One of (if not THE) the best fast food spot in all of Austin! I am obsessed with how quick and easy it is to stop at Cabo bobs for a meal. They have soooo many options so there's something here for everyone- chicken, beef, fish, veggies, etc! Their queso is delicious, and I usually go with a steak bowl or even a kids meal because those fill me up as well sometimes when I'm not too hungry. It's super easy to order, you go up to their bar and it's like Chipotle-style serving so you go down the line telling them what you want on your bowl/taco/burrito which makes it super effective and easy to make your meal! Once at the end, they wrap it for you and ask if you need a drink etc, and then go and sit wherever you'd like! So overall best fast food ever in Austin! Cheap Too! And there's always parking! 4.5 My family and I decided to stop by Cabo Bob's Burritos on our way home. I placed the order online while in our car. It was quick and easy. I put an asap pickup time. We arrived a little early and I hadn't gotten my text notification yet so we parked in the parking lot and waited. After a few minutes I received the text message saying that my order was ready. Surprisingly it was ready at the pickup time listed. We drove around through the drive thru pickup window. We told the person at the window my name and he promptly got us our food. It was fairly quick. I ordered the Bowl Chicken. I ordered mine with brown rice, Baja beans, double chicken, sauteed onions, sauteed pablano, fresh onions, guacamole, and a Tomatillo Salsa. I also ordered a small bag of chips and green salsa. The Bowl Chicken is really good. It's super filling and I love the combination of flavors. The tortilla chips were large and salty and the green sauce was bright and fresh. It was a nice addition to the Bowl Chicken for extra added flavor. My husband also got the Bowl Chicken with a few variations. He got his with white rice, pinto beans, and a chipotle crema sauce. My youngest son got the Nachos Fish. Pros: - fresh ingredients - tender and flavored chicken breast - good value - decent portions Cons: - Service feels rushed - Busy any time of day (probably especially during lunch/dinner) We came here with my family of 5 (including my 3 kids: ages 3, 6 & 9). I am told that the lines are usually extremely long but we came at 8pm on a Wednesday and it was still busy but we only waited a few minutes. It gave me Chipotle vibes because you walk up to the counter and place your order. We got 3 kids meals (2 chicken quesadillas and 1 taco meal). I love that the kids meals come with chips & queso PLUS a drink for $6.99! My kids were satiated but kids over 11 may want more. My hubs got a chicken bowl with rice guacamole and pico de gallo- super plain but he said it was good. I had the #3 (fish tacos with the 3 different types of tortillas) and I really enjoyed it. The portion was just right- not too little- but I didn't have any leftovers. I will say that I felt like I was missing salsa for my fish tacos and they only had hot sauce as a topping (that was free). Also, I didn't know what I wanted and I felt extremely rushed trying to get an understanding of the way the menu worked. I will be honest: I don't understand the appeal. I wish Taco Ranch had made it. I feel like the prices here are way too high. The lines are always outrageous, and there's no proper drive-through. The food was okay, but for the price point, it wasn't great. They do have an outdoor patio that they've enclosed with plastic and equipped with heaters for winter. However, I doubt I will be back. I love it! The fish tacos here are absolutely fantastic. Can't stop craving them! They come absolutely stuffed with fish and fresh veggies. Everything tastes super fresh too. The fun logo/signage drew me in... I like things that are colorful and whimsical, and the interior of this place truly delighted in that regard. Nice to have a place with a beach vibe even three hours away from the beach, lol! We got there in the middle of lunch rush, but that didn't bother us, and besides, the employees behind the counter were working efficiently and so the line moved pretty fast, even as it snaked through the whole establishment, haha. Plus, as it was our first time, we needed awhile to study the menu and determine what we wanted! I decided on tacos, and they were very accommodating, allowing me to get three different flavors of tortilla in a single order! I'd been curious if you could ACTUALLY tell the difference or not-- turns out, yes, you can! My fave was the chili one. Their beverages aren't the standard Coke or Pepsi products, but their own stuff that mimics the popular brands' flavors. I appreciated the presence of ginger ale to help with digestion. The meals were certainly filling at a decent price point. Next time we'll order some crunchy chips to go along with... they looked so good! We chose to sit out in the outdoor patio area (which had plenty of picnic table type seating), since it was quite crowded and loud on the inside and would've been hard to find a table anyhow. Like I said, it was packed! Restrooms were clean and well-stocked. Also lots of fun art on the walls in there, haha. Safe to say, this place has a following, as they also sold nifty tie-dye shirts with their logos on 'em! I think that's fairly well earned. So happy a location opened up near us! We ordered online and within 20 min it was ready. Walked right in and picked it up... Meanwhile there was a huge line. Don't be those people and order online! There's plenty of seating indoors and outside, all of which seemed very well taken care of. The single chicken burrito for $8.99 was enough for at least two meals. All of the ingredients were fresh and tasty. While I've probably had a better burrito, I do not think you can beat the price to deliciousness ratio anywhere in Austin these days. Oh jeeze. This is a humbling review to write, because I slept on Cabo Bob's for a long time. I kept going to Chipotle, even though it made me sick every time. I kept going to Freebrids, even though I don't like their burritos and always got nachos instead. I tried Cabo Bob's once at a catered party, and really like it, but then promptly forgot about it, and never cared enough to give it another try. Well this location opened up near our house and we have to now actively stop ourselves from eating at it more than once a week... It's just good. It's just so good. It's everything I want in a ginormous, gluttonous burrito, but elevated just a tad with freshness and variety of ingredients, so that I can vaguely pretend I'm not just gorging myself. We came here for lunch on the recommendation of a client. Even though it was already 2 pm, it was packed out and I was thinking "Wow! This must be some amazing stuff." I got a steak burrito with lime rice, pinto beans, pico de gillo, cheese, lettuce, and cilantro along with an order of chips & queso. The filling was really good and especially the steak. It was served wrapped in foil and in a plastic basket so I found it kinda challenging to eat because I'm not much of a finger food kind of guy. I finally resorted to eating it handheld but then I struggled with the buttermilk tortilla because it was really chewy. By the end, the tortilla was destroyed and I just ate the rest of the filling with a fork. The queso was quite tasty but I don't like their chips. They are hard and brittle. You might like them but I didn't. The ice tea was a huge disappointment. It looked dark and I was hoping to be impressed but it was weak on flavor. The soda is all a Cabo version on Coke products and it was okay as a substitute. Top ratings for their bathrooms and service but the music was awful. All in all, I wasn't overly impressed by my first visit. read more

Happy to see a new location on this side of Austin! Fish tacos are just as amazing and consistent with the Cabo Bob's brand! Plus they have a Drive-Thru for pickup orders! Burritos are normally my thing and lightly recommend the beef fajitas! Service is fast and quick especially when the line looks long as hell.. Losing their grip on professionalism and friendly efficient service at this location. 3rd consecutive visit where I left thinking I might need to write this location off (Sunset Valley). Pro: I usually like the food. Cons: I don't care for the lax professionalism behind the glass. 1/31/26, 9:25 pm or so: Off duty employees eating/drinking in the service line distracting on duty employees from taking care of customers who are staring at them waiting to be helped, tortilla just sitting there while these young men gossip in a huddle and slurp their drinks, one on duty worker had a hand on a serving spoon just ignoring his job. I did not like seeing the long sleeve puffer jacketed food handler on the food line - jacket didn't look clean and was just not a good look. My experience was rescued by the mature & focused female employee who seemed to be picking up everyone's slack. She left what she was doing to come fill my tortilla. Sadly to make things worse the rice was hard and pebbly in the center- underdone and so were the pinto beans. I feel the Congress & Ben White location built a loyal fan in me and this location is diminishing the long held positive impression visit by visit. Pro: lobby was clean Con: Drive through staff added to the unserious vibe & lack of urgency in taking care of customers first by being playful, loud and distracting to the service line workers. Seeing that reminded me of poor past experience trying to get through that drive through line and pick up a call in order. Slow, didn't meet the promised time commitment and had an attitude in that particular visit and it just seems the culture here is one of playfulness and lax focus on creating a good experience for your customer. I've experienced long lines at Congress location but they don't mess around there. It's a well oiled machine and they seem focused on moving the customers through, unlike here. Disappointing. Have you ever heard the term "ghosting" in relationships? Well apparently it happens in business and service industries too! I have never ever been to a Cabo Bob's and this was my first experience. This is a new location (I believe it's been open about two weeks now) near Walmart off Hwy 290. While at Walmart, I decided to read the raving reviews and place an online order for pickup. The website suggest that you use Toast Local and I did. According to my order #854 timestamp of 7:46pm the order would be ready at 8:15pm. I arrived at 8:15 to a very, very busy parking lot and drive thru. To the extent that I couldn't even turn in until a few orders were addressed or people decided to leave. I was able to park and go inside for pickup. It was even a long line wrapped throughout the dining room but there is a designated spot for to go order pickup by the drink machines. I join this small line (maybe 2-3 people ahead of me). An employee in a peachy colored shirt was friendly greeting and assisting. When it got to me, he asked to wait a moment and I did. He walks off to do something but promptly comes back. By this point, it's now about 8:30PM. I tell/show him my name and order number which clearly he can't find. He walks around in the prep area looking, then puts on a pair of hygiene gloves and goes to the back. While away, another male employee kindly greets me and asked if I had been helped. I said "I think so " and tell him it was peach shirt. This guy then proceeds to help the individuals now in line behind me. I continue to see peach shirt moving around in the prep area and I attempt to wave to get his attention; oddly he would never come back to the "to go" area or look my way. Was I... ghosted?!? I still patiently waited and a third employee (female) asked me if I had been helped. That's when I tell her I am unsure what is going on (it is now like 8:40pm) and that I was trying to pick up my to go order. I show her the ticket and she does her due diligence to go and find (fix) my order. According to my check out "text" I finally got my food at 8:41 but it was closer to 8:45 when I walked out. Almost a full hour after I placed the order. For now, I am gonna chalk this service negligence up to the busy and chaotic nature of the facility due to the rest of Austin that decided to dine here on this Friday night...but needless to say I was hangry! Moral of the story? Don't try the new place until the hype dies down, you have an abundance of time and patience, and the service kinks are worked out! Ambiance-colorful and clean. Oh the food? -that part...AMAZING! Definitely fresh! I got the 3 fish tacos and the guacamole/salsa/queso trio and a fountain drink. I had plenty of time to watch other items that were served and prepared and everything looked delicious. Please pardon my pics, because, well, this was a to go order. Would I return? The food was absolutely delicious! If you're looking for a quick bite that's healthy and cost effective I'd highly recommend Cabo bobs. The burritos are huge and the tacos can be super versatile. The service was over the top excellent. Not only did the workers move through the longer line quick and efficiently but they were also so sweet. We opted to sit outside because it was a bit loud inside. There is some shade, but it's TX and still hot as can be.. so we found a table by the flowers and enjoyed our veggie heavy tacos in the fresh air! Whoever does the gardening and upkeep for this location is completely killing it. Not only was the inside one of the better looking locations but the outside was lined with beautiful greenery and pops of color. This is my second time trying Cabo Bobs! I really enjoyed trying it during a Yelp event, it was fantastic! I was craving it today for dinner. I ordered the steak bowl with the jalapeño sauce it was delicious and spicy. My only complaint is that my rice should have been warmer and the meat was cold, please keep the meat warm. Best fast casual in Austin. I've been a regular for almost 10 years and was very excited for a location to open up near me, and they didn't disappoint! The food is incredible, the tortillas are made in front of you and are easily the best in the burrito-sphere. The rest of the ingredients are extremely fresh, tasty, and have tons of options. This is not the norm for these types of restaurants, so to me is an absolute differentiator. The lines can get long during the busy hours, but they move incredibly quick and are absolutely worth it. The staff is freaking awesome. They are always super friendly, seriously some of the best customer service in the space. Shout out to Johnnie and the rest of the crew! Ambiance for me is probably the least important piece when it comes to enjoying my eating experience, but cleanliness matters, and they take much more pride in their working space than I am accustomed to.
