Great choice for Mexican food. Started out with a refreshing Margarita on the rocks. It tasted very good. I ordered a bowl of CHILE CON QUESO for an appetizer to go along with the complimentary chips and salsa. The Queso was really good with cream blend of cheese and peppers. The salsa was really flavorful with a little kick and the chips were fresh. I ordered the Casico three cheese enchiladas with Mexican rice and Charro beans. The cheese enchiladas were delicious, filled with plenty of creamy cheese. The Mexican rice was good and the Charro beans were cooked perfectly with a little bit of a spicy bite. All the portions are very generous...not skimpy, you get your monies worth. We were greeted with a friendly welcome and seated very quickly by the hostess. Our server was prompt to come and take our drink orders as well as taking our order for the appetizer and main meal. She was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed and kept our drinks, chips and salsa refilled. Great service. The restaurant has the feel of you being in a nice Mexican restaurant South of the Border. Its atmosphere is very authentic and refreshing. Two things, if you order something and they bring you the wrong item so they decide they will give you a discount although on the ticket has extra added for that item you did not get. They took 10% off it with that extra item you did not get you deduct what you did not get and then you discount the entire plate. Manager has a lesson to be learned at this place. Standard Tex-Mex spot. There was plenty of seating for our large group, and we were conveniently seated in the patio spot on a Saturday night. The service was great, with them checking in and replenishing our chips and salsa. I got the mole enchilada (my friend highly recommends their enchiladas) and was impressed with the portions. Recently went to Serranos in Southpark Meadows for dinner. We were seated as soon as we went in and promptly brought tortilla chips and salsa. We ordered a large queso that quickly arrived at the table. I usually get their Fajita Chicken Taco (which are always yummy!), but was in the mood for something different. I decided on the El Grande which is a crispy beef taco, two cheese enchiladas with chili con carne, guacamole, queso, rice and beans. I appreciate the fact that they have two kinds of rice to choose from (Mexican and Pacifico) because I am not a fan of Mexican rice. The beef taco was huge and full of ground beef,lettuce, tomatoes, and shredded cheese. The cheese enchiladas were perfectly cooked and not tough or greasy at all. The Pacifico rice was fluffy and the charro beans were well-seasoned. Our server was attentive and refilled drinks without having to ask. The El Grande was very reasonably priced, especially since I will get at least two more meals out of it. My only complaint is that the large queso is now $15!! I admit that I usually just order queso without looking at the price because it's virtually a "have to have" when I am at a Tex-Mex restaurant, but I may have to rethink that with everything getting so expensive these days. Don't get me wrong, the queso was great and I have noticed queso prices going up everywhere. It's just something I am going to have to start paying attention to everywhere with our budget not going as far as it used to. My only regret with my meal is that I forgot to add a jalapeno sausage because Serrano's is always so tasty. read more

We came in on mother's day since another restaurant was quoting a 2 hour wait. And we were glad that we did. The server was very quick and kind and she had our order in and delivered very fast. The portions were huge, I was absolutely stuffed and everything was delicious. I left nothing on my plate. I would come back again and recommend to all of my friends. My fiancé & I have eaten here twice (most recently last Friday), and we enjoyed it both times. This past Friday we arrived around 6:15-6:30 without a reservation, and were seated immediately. That was nice (although when we left at 7, there was a wait outside). The hostess was friendly, and our server was a good guy. As for the food, the chips & salsa they had was alright, but the guacamole was fantastic. Definitely recommend the guac as we had it both times and it was delicious and my favorite part of the meal both times. This is our go-to Tex-Mex! We visit about once every week and it is consistently top notch. Friendly staff, nice ambiance, and always fresh. Highly recommend the Pollo Perfecto, any fajitas, and queso perfecto. Never had anything that wasn't delicious and I doubt you can go wrong anywhere on the menu - these are just our usual items that I know you won't be disappointed in! I frequent this south location at least once a week. I have tried everything on the menu at least once. My favorite has to be pollo perfecto. It has all you're looking for in chicken and queso topped. The staff is really awesome here and makes you feel like family when you are there. I don't think I have ever been so impressed with a tortilla soup IN MY LIFE. It seriously blew me away with how much flavor it had! The enchiladas were also great and you are able to pick what sauce you have on the enchiladas so that is a fun option. They do offer you chips and salsa which are great, light and crispy which is my favorite. The server we had was so friendly and went above and beyond by finding out what items had dairy in them and what didnt, I really was impressed with his assistance and effort! This review is for a to-go order that was delivered to a local business. I ordered a handful of combo fajitas for 2 (Beef/Chicken) to feed a group of about 10 people and was very pleased with how everything turned out. Although I was hesitant about ordering the same day (I usually place orders in advance), I placed my order and the food was ready and delivered in under an hour. Portion sizes were excellent and we had plenty of leftovers after everyone ate. Tortillas arrived hot and they were delicious. They gave us some extra beans, rice, and a giant bag of chips. The chicken and beef had very good flavor and wasn't dry at all-very juicy. Once the order was ready, I was contacted by the person delivering my order and they provided real time updates about where they were up until they reached the front door-pretty easy! The food was good, but service left a lot to be desired. Rosey did not seem to be happy to be there. And was not helpful while we were ordering. I asked questions and was asked to read the menu. Same with my girlfriend when she asked about the sides. I never had my water glass refilled even though it was empty nearly the entire time I was there. She didn't ask how the food came out. Then when I went to tip there was no option under 20% for the tip. I was always tip at restaurants. But SHE SAT THERE AND STARRED AT ME WHILE I CONSIDERED HER TIP. No wait time for a table of 2. Our margaritas were good, we definitely felt the first one. Our food came out within a decent time. We got the chicken enchiladas and the shrimp enchiladas. I'd say the chicken was a slight 7/10. I like my enchiladas cheesy and drenched in sauce and they were very much giving dry. My boyfriend said his shrimp enchiladas were 10/10. He cleared his plate. I love the plate presentation. They add a serrano pepper onto every dish as their signature touch and I love it. Also, they play authentic latino music. We visited the Lakeline location one night for a weekend get away. I didn't take pics but we ordered quesadillas that were huge and a shrimp plate with wrapped bacon and an appetizer of chile queso with ground beef. The Queso was good. The quesadillas were definitely something we could have cooked at home. The shrimp was actually flavorful and good however they were wrapped in not so done bacon and stuffed with extremely hot Serrano peppers! After I had a taste of that I couldn't eat anymore. Overall I rated a 2 for the quesadillas and the rice was very poor in presentation with no veggies. Just plain rice. The Queso was the best. However, my wife and I decided to try a restaurant in the South Park mall today that we hadn't been to before. Not mentioning names, Gabriela's. Anyway, we were sat by a mad hostess who slapped our menu down and ran off. We never saw a server and waited 15 minutes before deciding to say adios. Don't do business with you anymore. We try to get different things when we visit to try more menu items out but haven't gotten too far. There is plenty of seating in the restaurant, and attentive staff in all areas. The only reason I took off a star is due to ordering for pickup said it was ready after about 35-40 minutes and the food was kind of cold at that point so I'm assuming it was ready sooner. This place has not gotten better with time/age. I have been going to Serranos for years and slowly have stopped with periodic drop-ins to see if things are getting any better. They have not. Sad since the food is actually fairly decent. This trip we were promptly seated in a booth that was dirty and the seats were incredibly torn. The restaurant as a whole was just not clean. Looked and felt dirty. Even the bathrooms smelled like sewage. These things alone made me not want to eat the food. As for the the service, it was about what i get almost every time. Slow, apathetic, inattentive. It will be a while longer, if ever for me to walk back into this place. read more

We've been coming here for years even through COVID we would come regularly for take away. Food is usually solid and the servers are always friendly. The bartender though seems to have some issues with customer service, and same with the manager. As in laughing at a customer's pretty simple request and just not wanting to get it. We've had her before, and she gets annoyed whenever you ask for something simple, or even just for some silverware. Usually we stick with the guy bartender but he wasnt there tonight unfortunately. Glad you had a good laugh on our behalf. But really, is it hard to make a margarita in a short glass? We watched you send out several tonight, so clearly it's possible. So we're clear, when you make a margarita in a short glass, with the same alcohol you use in a tall glass, you end up with less mixer. So you taste the tequila a little more. That's all it is. But instead of just doing that like the last 12 margaritas you sent out in the short glasses, or the 20 or so youve made for us in the past, you insist on using a tall glass because that's funnier? Omgosh this is the 3 rd try here & it still is horrible if not worse than the last time! service is horrible, our waitress just disappeared after our order came ! We had to bother another server . my son found a piece of a rubber glove under his taco. The waitress took it away after flipping it around with her long fingernail ! , no MGR ever came over . He was given a taco replacement but had no appetite for it after seeing that ! Our fish taco had aglob of soggy wet , very fishy smelling white fish! Inedible! not even grilled Nachos were not good at all , I think they count out 10 nachos & then pile some beans & dab cheese on them.
