Living in South Austin, it's so hard to get delicious Chaat and thus comes in Chaat ka Chaskaaa. Situated behind a gas station, it has funky truck with an elaborate menu. My order : Grilled Bombay sandwich - 5/10 Vada pav - 9/10 Chole chaat - 8/10 The sandwich was disappointing and dismal and lacked authenticity. It was a little bland and lacked the right amount of filling for a triple layered sandwich. Not worth it. The vada pav stole the show. The patty was so yummy and well cooked. They rub the bun with gun powder and that made it extra special. The chole chaat was authentic and was a perfect blend of spices. The chole was well cooked. The important part of this review should be the price I paid for the entire order. It was just $22 and they do charge like a food-truck instead of restaurant prices! Loved the vibe and ambience the place brought to the environment.

I've driven by here many times but finally got the chance to try it today, and I'm really mad at…read moremyself for not doing it sooner. First time so we got a few things; a chorizo breakfast burrito, two tamales (a verde and roja) and the pastor tacos. The burrito was delicious. Eggs, chorizo, black beans...but the best part is that the burrito was griddled with a layer of cheese on the outside to make it crispy and even more delicious. It was also drizzled with a delicious chipotle sauce. Fantastic stuff. Both tamales had very nice and tender masa that wasn't dry, and the fillings tasted very homey and familiar. The pastor tacos might be the best thing here, the meat is seasoned really well and cooked perfectly. Pork can get dry if not cooked right but these tacos were flavorful and succulent. Now that I live down south I've really started to enjoy the robust food truck scene down here, and I have to say that this has gotta be up there for some of the tastiest tacos/truck eats I've had. Ygor is a super sweet guy too, so make sure you say hi and chat if you can! Definitely give it a shot!

I'm giving this place 3 stars (and being nice about it) because we came on a Saturday lunch time…read moreand the place was NOT that busy, and we waited over an hour for 2 burritos and one quesadillas. That is ridiculous. They told my husband that they received a big phone order... well maybe it's an organizational problem, but take care of the people who are waiting in 90 degrees heat first? Or maybe instead of saying "your order is coming soon" 6x, give us a free water or soda to apologize. I'm not going to tell you how to run your business. The food was good, the chicken quesadillas were actually the best, but not worth $37. The nice part was that there is a playground on site but after an hour of wait, my toddler didn't want to play nor eat anymore. Epic fail. I won't be back.

We have had our fair share of disappointments by the time we braved this adventure yesterday. Thankfully, this spot has restored our faith in good Indian-Chinese once again. The dumplings were incredible - the skin was thin and well-steamed with a generous amount of flavorful stuffing. The hot n sour soup was spicy. And the chili paneer was absolutely delicious - in a thick gravy that had been seasoned well. The pricing was quite reasonable and the quantities were filling. There is plenty of parking in this convenience store lot making it an easy trip out. The gentleman at the window was nice.

Service was friendly. We ordered three items: - chicken biryani - stir fried rice dish with lots of spices, not too hot. The chicken was pretty good but I wish there was a bit more. - chicken korma - tasty curry that comes with a side of rice. Also wish there was a bit more. - garlic naan - unfortunately it was quite soggy, tasty though! They're still fairly new so are probably working things out. The portions are a bit smaller than other places, but they do charge less too, so that may be why. Overall the flavors are good and I'd recommend giving them a try if you're nearby. Haven't tried the dumplings yet and those are looking good!

We called ahead to ask whether we can pickup idlis at their earliest and they assured us that…read morethey'll have them ready by 11:30am (listed opening time). We drove 30 minutes, with the kids, reached there at 11:30a, but no one had even opened the truck yet. They drove up a bit later, shocked to find us waiting (though we had just confirmed with them on the phone 30min prior and their listed time is 11:30a), told us they needed some additional time to unpack the food from their car and setup the truck. Close to noon, they asked us our order again, once again saying it'll just be 5-10 minutes max. At 12:30p, we received our two plates of Idlis. They closed the window so we couldn't even request a status check in between. Thank goodness we had carried snacks with us for the kids. We were curious to try more items on the menu but afraid of the long wait times and inaccurate communication to risk it. Though the freshness of the Idlis is much appreciated, and the sambhar was tasty, this kind of customer experience makes it nearly impossible for us to return. If they had let us know at 11am that they couldn't serve food before 12-12:30p, we would've planned accordingly. Additionally, parking isn't easy here. There are 2 food trucks, with 2 spots nearby and 4 further away. The other food truck was open already so it was hard for us to find a spot.

Honestly, I could've made a meal out of just those appetizers. For my entrée, I ordered the lasagna, and let me tell you...the portion was huge! I shared it with four coworkers and still had plenty left for myself. Best of all, it was absolutely delicious. Artipasta did not disappoint.
