Mediocre Mexican food at Meanwhile Brewing with the other food trucks. I had a steak taco, rice and beans. Refried beans were flat, rice was bland, taco was okay, steak inside was fine. Chips were good, queso a little watery and at $9.95 for a small boat of chips with queso seems a bit steep. Tacos run about $6, service is quick.

Outstanding music venue/ Biergarten Great Oracle seating Will definitely be back another time

lettuce in burrito-not listed in ingredients

First-It's rich the St Elmo location isn't even listed as an option here. Part of my problem is with them being unclear it is at the brewery, not the district. I ordered online and when I saw I placed an order 1/2 an hour away from me I called immediately to try to have them not make it so I could go to a closer location. Nobody answered and when they finally did, order was ready 5 mins ahead of time a they refused to accommodate. VERY annoying. Then after driving almost an hour round trip out of my way to pick up my food-THERE WAS LETTUCE IN THE BURRITO. Lettuce not listed as an ingredient or I would've asked them to leave it off/ordered something else. I emailed to let them know how disappointed I was with the entire experience and nothing. So here is my "rave" review. So incredibly disappointing all around.

Loved the food. Ambiance is outdoor picnic style. The service is they text you when your food is finished and you order at the taco truck window. The habanero salsa was perfect who loves the salsa to burn their whole face, like myself.

Had a mini taco platter with lamb barbacoa which had a rich lamb aroma but I felt could use a bit more salt. However the line and salsa did help give for flavor. Note that you can't mix and match fillings for the mini taco plate. The food did take a bit of a wait but they text you when your food is ready and you can chill at Meanwhile.

Now I enjoyed my food but my brother did not. I ordered the lamb Barbacoa taco and a carne asada Gordita. Great flavors and huge portions. The tacos could've been a little more tender and had a bit more seasoning. Also that goes for the service if you catch my drift.

Taco Bueno and Taco Nes

Went there on the Labor Day (thanks for being open, Pueblo Viejo). Long line, but it moved pretty fast! I ordered my usual favorite, Taco Bueno and Taco Nes. Both were delicious, consistent as other locations I've tried. Their ghost habanero salsa elevated my tacos to next level. When your order is ready, they texted you so people don't need to hover around the trucks. Appreciate that since it's hot out! Pueblo Viejo is still my favorite taco place in Austin.

My wife and I were in Austin for a long weekend and i ordered the fish tacos and al pastor taco. The fish taco was one of the best grilled fish tacos I have ever had. It was ready in about 5 minutes but their salsas were weird. They were more like dressings instead of salsa. The ghost was spicy, but not crazy hot and I like the jalapeno. The chips and guac looked great as well. I didn't try them, but it looked fantastic! The atmosphere of the brewery was wonderful and during COVID, the outdoor seating was huge. Dog friendly and super nice people serving the beer. Totally try this place!

I love tacos and I also love Pueblo Viejo! This food truck is parked at the Meanwhile Brewery and is a happening place to be in Southeast Austin. I've had Pueblo Viejo at different locations through the city over the last 10 years so and I was delighted to see them pop up at Meanwhile. Lately I'm loving the Quesadilla tacos and chips and queso. It's been my go to order for several weeks now. They are open early for breakfast tacos as well, which I'd recommend trying. Their selection of hot sauces is impressive too. If tacos aren't your thing, no worries, they offer all kinds of other Tex Mex plates to choose from and it's all good! You can't go wrong with Pueblo Viejo especially when you're re chilling at Meanwhile sipping on a beer and watching you kids play on the playground!

The Al Pastor mini tacos were flavorless. The chicken tacos were fine. A forgettable experience. Few options on a Monday.

I've driven by El Alma many times being in the Austin area, but I never went until last Thursday, and after surviving a brief monsoon, I was glad to get a few drinks and eat some good TexMex with my large party just before a wedding. The best way to describe El Alma is that it is TexMex that is Austinified. Everything feels a little more unique and special than your classic TexMex options. I started off with a Mezcal Margarita that put a little hair on my chest and got me going. My group ordered two of their Nachitos, which were these nice nachos. For my main entrée, I got 3 Al Pastor tacos on corn with a side of their rice and beans. Their pastor was served with pineapples, onions, and cilantro with limes on the side. They were great and I immediately crushed them all. I thought their rice and beans were pretty good as well and a step above the typical TexMex rice and beans. The server was pretty attentive throughout our whole visit, and I honestly have no complaints about what they had to offer. Pricing on the meal and drinks was pretty standard for Austin, and I didn't think anything really took me out of the experience. On top of that, for being in Barton Springs, there is quite a bit of parking. I would love to come back at some point in the future and hang out on their rooftop bar because that seems like a lot of fun. Shoutout to El Alma for being a TexMex oasis saving me from the MoPac traffic. RIYL: TexMex, but better than your average

So we were thinking of tacos or Mexican food and my daughter suggested this spot as she had come here with some friends and really enjoyed their sopecitos. I had never had a sopecito! What is that! So we had to try... We were lucky to arrive at the right time (9 pm!) where we got their last table!! Make reservations or something because this is another one of those places that fills up! So- we were taken care of immediately: chips and some very hot salsas were set on the table while we chose. They menu is in QR code format, but we asked and got paper menus as well. Well I got the chicken sopecitos , my daughter got the pork ones and my partner got the meat tacos. Everything was delicious, the food arrived promptly, the portion size was perfect and bountiful and everything was super enjoyable. I really enjoyed trying some New Mexican favorites. Next time I will try some other delicacies since I always get tacos tacos burritos or quesadillas: time for some new items on the menu! Enjoy!

Music was so loud in the back room areas that you could not even have a conversation with others at your table. When I asked to have the music turned down, I was ignored. We started with their famous house Margaritas with Tajín, and they were absolutely delicious--and definitely strong in the best way. My boyfriend and I shared the Ceviche Las Brisas, which was incredibly fresh with generous, perfectly cut pieces of fresh white fish from the Gulf of Mexico. For our main dish, we split the vegetable Enchiladas de Mole Poblano, served with rice and black refried beans. I wish the enchiladas had more vegetables. Everything on the plate was outstanding, and I truly think they have the best mole in town--rich, complex, and unforgettable. We were also celebrating a friend's birthday, and the staff made it extra special by surprising her with a complimentary Tres Leches cake, which was just as amazing as everything else we had. Great food, lively atmosphere, and wonderful service--Fonda San Miguel continues to be one of our favorite spots. We can't wait to go back!
