Belgian waffles with fruit and buttermilk syrup
    Marian S.

I've been here for dinner and brunch now, and it's one of my favorite places to eat in Provo! It has the classiest ambience. For fine dining, it's very reasonably priced as well. For dinner, I got the mac & cheese appetizer with their fried chicken, and it was the perfect portion size! Everyone else at my table raved about how good their food was, so we all recommend any of the fried chicken sandwiches or salads! For brunch, I split the farmer's breakfast and the Belgian waffles with my sister, and both were absolutely divine. The waffles in particular were so light and fluffy, perfectly cooked. The biscuits are a must as well! Very buttery, perfectly salty. Oh, and did I mention their sodas are to die for? Most of them use cane sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup, if you care about that kind of thing. The caramel apple soda was a favorite at our table! The service is fantastic as well. Mostly young adults, all very attentive and professional. We will definitely be coming back!

Set in a quaint historic building, the atmosphere is chill and inviting. The stag is very friendly with smiles all around add to the atmosphere. We hat the Black berry salad and the Nashville chicken sandwich. Neither one disappointed. Later enough portions to take and have later is great far anyone staying at the surrounding hotels.

This is a cute little restaurant. My sister and I both got the 22 club and loved it! It was a great portion size. We both got sweet potato fries with ours which were good, but could've used a little salt. Their fry sauce was not my favorite but to each their own. We got seated really quickly after getting here on a Friday evening which was amazing! Our food also came out pretty quickly. The only negative thing I have to say is that we were sitting waiting for a while after we finished eating for our waiter to come back over to us. Other than that the staff was super friendly and the food was good!

They said their mac & cheese was the best in Utah two years in a row, so I gave that a try. The mac & cheese had some crumps on top that went well with it. I liked the texture, too. This was definitely better than the average mac & cheese out there, but I would choose other food over this. I also got some waffles. They are very fluffy, and I liked the buttermilk syrup they have. The sweetness was just right, better than the regular syrup. We had a party of 19, and they were accommodating and found a spot for us to sit near each other. It was a little crowded, though. A big shoutout to our server, Trevin, who was very friendly and helpful. However, I wished they had one more server for us because it took a long time for everyone to be served. Overall, they still provided great service, considering the big size of our group.

I've been here twice and it's a nice place to gather with friends and family! There's a bunch of different dishes for everyone and the place is well-lit, spacious, and well-decorated! The food is all good too of course. Would definitely recommend coming here for date night or with a group!

Walking in this restaurant, it looks super cute. We had reservations, but we didn't really need them as we came on a weekday and it wasn't very busy. I came for a special occasion and was so excited to try something new, and sadly was disappointed. I think if I was a soda drinker, this place would have been rad because the shelves were lined with colorful sodas so if that's your thing, you may enjoy it more. Our waitress was super nice and seemed excited to be there which gave me good expectations. I saw they had two of my favorite dishes, fried green tomatoes and shrimp and grits so I felt like it was set up to be a great night. I am not sure what region these versions of the dishes were from, but it was not what I was expecting at all. The fried green tomatoes were battered in something with a gritty texture and the sauce did not complement the gritty texture or tone it down. The shrimp and grits were surprisingly more disappointing. When I asked how they were (because I've had some sub par dishes) the waitress said, and I quote "they're really good!" Man I should have detected the lie. The grits were more cheese than grits and they were more saucy than gritty. The sauce, my oh my was it bland. There was flavorless, watery sauce, and there was a LOT of it. The shrimp had no seasoning on it, or if it had it had been washed off by all that sauce. The textures of everything were just off. It felt like either the chef had never tried them and/or the person who created the recipie never has had real shrimp and grits. If you want shrimp and grits or fried green tomatoes that are actually worthwhile, look up I'm Sandy or Draper area and try up there. My man had the chicken fried steak and although he preferred it over my food, he wasn't impressed either. Definitely not a place for Southern food. I can't speak for any of the other dishes as this was my first time here.

We've been here three times. The waiters are always friendly, the setting is always nice. The food is delicious. The drinks are mid, the sweet tea was good. The bottled speciality drinks are sub par, not worth the money. Friend green tomatoes are delicious, 4 out of 5. The fried funeral potatoes are great, 4.5 out of 5. Mac and cheese was good 3.5 out of 5. Whiskey chicken was okay, 3 out of 5. Chicken and waffles are good 3.5 out of 5. The chorizo chowder is insanely good, 5 out of 5. Their dill ranch is also a solid 5 out of 5, I'd drink it:)

Staff was nice, vibe was perfect, food was great. I had the french toast and pina colada lemonade. The lemonade was 10/10. I'd go back just for that! Husband got the steak sandwich and it was a bit messy but he said it tasted great even with the tomatoes which he usually hates, that's a big deal! I will say their fried foods have a slight off putting taste from the oil they use. We got the fried funeral potatoes and beignets (very very tiny beignets btw) and they both tasted just a little off. If you aren't sensitive to that kinda thing it's no big deal. Overall a pretty good experience!

The food is always over cooked and the service isn't that great. Don't order the chicken unless you like it nice and dry.

Food was good but very understaffed. Nice environment for a meetup with friends but the Diet Coke glass doesn't fill itself.

When we arrived and sat down, we were greeted by Joe telling us that "House rules, you're not allowed to order the same item". Lol. Love that guy! We both ordered Denver omelets, one without onions, extra mushrooms, French toast, and grits and one without mushrooms, hash browns, and pancakes. First off, the pancakes were amazing! They're light, had crispy edges, and had a wonderful flavor. But the best thing was it was in the shape of little donuts, which was a nice surprise. Our entrees came but were somehow got switched. We didn't realize it at first but both were still good. Unfortunately, my wife put Chalula on hers and I put Tobasco on mine and we don't like each other's choice of condiments. The other unfortunate thing was that I had an eggshell in my omelet. Even though we had these misfortunes you can't hide the flavor of these dishes and they certainly don't skimp on toppings. My grits were too sweet today. If it's too sweet for me, it must've been really sweet. The only other criticism I saw was that they were filling the syrup bottles from large Log Cabin jugs. They also were using Idahoan shredded potatoes from a large carton. I can understand the potatoes but how great would it be to have freshly made syrup. Still a great experience and they are still one of the best breakfast places on the state.

This warm, friendly welcome set the tone for the whole experience. Joe stopped by and told us the "rules". Everyone orders something different and we all share. My daughters both ordered waffles but one got it in a combo so she could follow the rules. I got the breakfast burrito with Texas sausage & bacon. My husband got the eggs & diced ham with a side of biscuits and gravy. My son got the French Dip because you can order breakfast or lunch at 10 am. Everyone ate a good portion if not all of their food. It was good. We will definitely be back. For the food but more for the service!
