For as long as I've been living in Utah, I have never stepped foot into a Chubby's...until today! I swung by to grab a bite after watching The Odyssey in the megaplex theater nearby. When you enter, you order and pay first. Then, you get a number for your table, where they will bring your food out to you. After reviewing their menu, I wanted the cranberry apple salad. Unfortunately, that dish is currently not in season. Their seasonal fruit salad right now is Strawberry Fields, which is great too! I got it with grilled chicken rather than fried chicken. The salad was delicious!! Lots of color from the variety of fruits and veggies. They gave me 2 sauce cups of dressing; I went with poppy seed as my dressing. My friend got the blue cheese bacon burger. By the way, burgers do not automatically come with fries; you must add it on or upgrade to a combo. Also, my friend noticed there were cookie bits in his plain ole vanilla shake; no complaints, just thought it was something to call out since we assume a vanilla shake would just be that and nothing more haha we think there may be vanilla cookies in there. We moved from Texas to Utah county 6 month ago. We rarely eat out anymore because we just couldn't find good food. Well that changed today. This is the best food we've had since living in Utah. The pulled pork is western NC bbq, so be prepared for that. I was wanting more eastern bbq with that vinegar, but it was still good. Reminded me of east Texas bbq. My son had the mango habanero chicken sandwich and loved it. My girls had a cheeseburger kids meal and cleared their plates. My husband brought me here for my first time after we had bought our car from Tim Dahle Ford back in January. It's one of his favorite places in Utah County. He came with his best friends a few times during their Guys' Nights Out. I'm a Southern girl, so I went with the Pulled Pork and Hush Puppies (and the hush puppies reminded me of the way I had them as a kid). It did not disappoint! They also offer what my family called scones growing up but it is technically flatbread with honey butter. That is my absolute favorite. So we came in about an hour before close today and tried the the mango habanero chicken sandwich and beer battered fries. The fries were not beer battered really at all but the manager explained they changed suppliers and were trying out new ones so I understood that. They were not very crisp but again it was near closing time. The sandwich was interesting had good flavor and plenty of crunchy pickles I was hoping for crisper slaw to match the pickles but there was not very much on it. The sandwich is very messy which I don't mind at all but sadly the chicken was not really fried like you would expect it was kind of like ordering chick-fil-a then driving home waiting a little bit then eating it so it's kind of soggy breading. This place is WELL known for its scrumptious burgers, beer-battered crispy fries, and the Ferrari of milkshakes. They do everything well here! My favorite burger here is the mushroom and swiss burger, it's one of the best I've had. The ratio of mushrooms to the burger and melted gooey swiss cheese is to die for, and to pair it up with their famous beer-battered fries is just a match made in heaven. Favorite shake: B-A-N-A-N-A S-P-L-I-T. They use real hot fudge here (which is a BIG PLUS in my book) and the outcome of this shake is a party in your mouth. If you're a banana split ice cream fan, this is your winner in shake form. The service is phenomenal. All you need to do is ask nicely (if they can correct your order) and they will do it with a smile, no questions asked. PRO TIP: Try asking for a side of ranch sauce and teriyaki sauce. This restaurant is huge! I came here on Thursday at 5pm, and to my surprise there were 3-4 other parties getting takeout, and 2-3 parties that were sat down. My to-go order took about 15 mins to be made. The southern chicken sandwich I got was $8.99 alone, but I added drinks and fries which made it come out to about $15 total. I'm sure the customer is part of the blame. They got a lot of great options to choose from. If you are a burger guy, you will be drooling at the menu. I like the pastrami here, it's my go to.
