I'm a big Chubbys fan....generally. I rave about their whole menu. One of my go-to menu items is their buffalo chicken salad. I've thought it the best salad by far from any fast-casual dining experience. I've noticed in the last several months, the quality has wavered and gone down from years of experience in ordering this item. Salad seems to be smaller. The new bacon bits seem odd. The freshness of the salad leafs are not always fresh. It's just not as good as it used to be. On top of that, the girl bringing the food to my table was not customer friendly. First time here. The ambiance is really nice. The employees are young and friendly. Too much BYU decor for me. Lol I ordered a bacon mushroom burger, cinnamon scones, beer battered French fries, and the baked beans The bacon on the burger was amazing. It was thick and cooked to a crispy texture. Swiss cheese, tomatoes, and mushrooms rounded off the patty that was not cooked all the way. There was no seasoning on the burger and unfortunately, you could taste the blood from the meat not being cooked all the way. I thought the bun was not dense enough for the size of the burger. The beer bettered fries was the best! I loved the coating on the fries that gave it that extra crunch but had that soft texture that I love. The chubby sauce was fry sauce with some added spices with a little kick. It was awesome! The baked beans had a really nice flavor and not too tart. Instead of bacon, they put beef chunks. I didn't mind the take on it. I broke off a piece of the cinnamon scone and I didn't think it was anything special. That was until I noticed the glaze that was underneath the scones. I didn't realize that it was there until it got cold. I think the glaze needs to go in top of the scones. Living in SLC, I'm not sure if I'd drive back to Oren for this place. I am so glad we came here. We were starving after doing the dream walk park down at the mall area for about four hours. I got a Carolina pulled pork. It was piled high. Amazing sandwich and my friend got a chubby cheesesteak with fries also equally good. The service was quick and friendly, the girl at the counter gave us a lot of good options to consider. The music was fun and the interior vibe was great. We came on a Thursday midday around 4 o'clock so there were hardly any people here I would definitely recommend it! read more

Chubby's is a very solid American food place. I've been here twice now and it's been a great experience both times. You order and then they bring you your food, so it's a similar experience to a restaurant but still the casual prices of a cafe. The service had been stellar thus far and I'd recommend this place at a 4/5 star rating. The food was great, but just not quite excellent. I've tested a few different menu items, and one I'd recommend against is the Peach Cobbler. I'm a huge fan of good Peach Cobbler, but the Cobbler here was fairly average, nothing to write home about. It was my first time eating at a Chubby's cafe, you have to wait in line to order, but then you get to choose where you want to sit which I really like. I got the Jalapeño Ranch burger and it did not disappoint! Definitely recommend it! The fries weren't as seasoned as I would have liked but still crispy and good. My friend had the peach cobbler and she said it was delicious. The music selection was great and the staff were incredibly friendly, it made the experience that much better! Places like Chubby's (with a ton of menu items that are easily thrown together and covered in cheese and oil) will always only ever be 4-star places haha. Chubby's is family-friendly, has huge portions, and something for everyone. But at the end of the day...you won't find the highest quality food here ofc. That being said, if you prioritize quantity over quality, Chubby's is your place. The reuben and cinnamon scones I got were good and filling (I just didn't feel like my best self afterwards). But I wasn't expecting to. So do what you will with this info. Oh I should also note that the staff (mostly high schoolers) are really nice and service is pretty fast. We stopped here Saturday (April 6, 2024) evening after driving for 11 hours. Service A-1. I tried ordering wings, all out. Tried Fish basket, sorry all out. Settled on Shrimp basket and fries. 13 mini shrimp. Very tasty. Others in my group had Philly Steak sandwiches, chicken tenders. A fun stop with lots of options for the whole family! Chubby's has good burgers and fries! And while I didn't love the bun situation, I thought the meat and other toppings were great! The kids meals, like most places, are okay but not great. The service here is great and everyone was very friendly; helping us with our order and giving us lots of ideas. My husband said the fries were the best part of his meal and even then they weren't great. I hadn't eaten there for a while and I was getting takeout. I ordered a halibut basket that was posted on the menu. I was told by the cashier that they didn't have halibut they had cod. I asked what kind of cod and she looked at me like I had asked a difficult questioN. " I don't know" was the answer. I also ordered a chocolate milk shake and fries. When I was given my order I started to leave when I realized that I wasn't given my shake, so I went back for it. They hadn't made it, so I had to wait. A restaurant with cafe style food (small menu). My biggest compliment to Chubbys is the friendly and helpful staff. They are hard to beat in this area. Their Orem location also has a lot of seating! More seating than most sit down restaurants. Their food is good which I give a B rating to. I loved their beer battered fries (highly recommended). One large complaint and one small one. My main complaint is the terrible buns that they use - very light and barely anything. I ordered the Chubby Cheesesteak and the bun feel apart before I finished it and had to salvage part of it with my fingers to finish it. My wife ordered a burger and her bun (after it soaked up the juices from the burger) was paper thin and barely held together. I have to give their bread and buns a D- rating. Chubby's really cut corners with their buns which is disappointing. If you love small, tiny buns that barely weight more than a piece of paper then you'll love them. My last complaint (which is minor) is the lack of trash cans. After searching for some time I could only find two in the entire restaurant and they were hidden (blended in to to look like a part of the wall so they weren't obvious). This was apparent as their trash can just outside the restaurant was overflowing terribly and the bathroom had restaurant trash in it (apparently others had trouble finding the hidden trash cans also). My wife and I enjoyed our meals but the terrible buns brings my rating down to a 4 out of 5. Hats off to Chubby's for the friendly staff, good food, and large seating area. read more

While attending an event at UVU, we asked around for a good Burger Joint that's not a national chain. We wanted some local flavor. We found that and more at Chubbys! A full front row of 1 hour parking is appreciated. When we walked in, there was a table of Police Officers which, in my book, is always a good sign. We asked the cashier for some recommendations and the Utah Burger was my choice. My wife had the Hawaiian Burger. Fries and scone sides were plentiful and delicious. Since you order at the counter and it gets delivered to the table by # it was a pleasant surprise when staff checked on us mid-meal. Huge menu, reasonable prices and all was good. Dreams really do come true! We have been huge fans of Chubby's Cafe since we lived near their original Pleasant Grove location. So excited to see this in construction right by the University Mall movie theater. They just opened up, so shakes and other items on the menu are a few weeks out. I've been watching as this place was under construction. Glad to see it open. Great burgers and same yummy fries as the other locations. All of their burgers are great. Today, for my inaugural visit, I had the Bacon ranch burger. It was tasty and had fresh fixings. Wonderful selection of Pepsi products (at least there's a lot of choices despite not having coke products). I was their first public customer on day one. I had great service despite obvious training of all new employees. I expect this place to get busy. Chubby's is a great burger place to take the grandkids for a burger or for family dining . This is a great location that should do well. Sadly no drive through. All in all, super excited to see another Chubby's location.
